❤️ it, I like the idea, all in one. Dogs 🐶🐶,sxs and not sleeping in a tent ⛺️ or back of a truck bed 🛏️. I’m mostly a solo upland hunter.👍🏽👍🏽 good job.
Great job on the trailer and tour really like it got me thinking 🤔.I prefer with plumbing and electrical ,I like to have everything in the open.Easy access.
Awesome build! Im trying to think of a shower setup for my trailer similar to yours. Wish you wouldve shown the whole shower setup and your access hole to drain it. I got a folding dog pool as my shower pan and the same shower curtain hook ceiling mount. I plan on cutting a hole in my floor and putting a marine acess hatch for the drain. Was hoping to see a set up similar to what Im planning.
@@laurafy I’ll do another video soon and show the changes I’ve made with that. I ditched the shower curtain and bought a shower/privacy kit that is supposed to mount on an overland vehicle and mounted it inside. It’s been a better enclosure.
Nice set-up. I've been looking for a toy hauler that suits my needs to take on hunting trips. The bed set-up and getting a machine in was my biggest question and you answered it . Good video.
Great set up. How do you like the Ashley heater? I'm in the beginning stages of my own 6x12 build and I live in a cold climate 6 months a year. Any tips or suggestions? Do you know if there's any minimum length requirements for the flue pipe? Also how fast does it go through propane?
We like it pretty well. Only thing is the heat doesn’t get to the floor very well. So when we shot this video, it was 0 about every night. We left it on the lowest setting and it was pretty warm up in the bed but water would start freezing up on the floor. Huge temp difference. Im going to work on some kind of a fan system where hopefully it’ll circulate better. We’ve just been running the generator with an electric heater for the floor to pick that temp up a little if needed. The minimum they suggested was 4”. I talked to a few heating guys and they didn’t think it was any issue to cut it down further so I did. It’s been working great, haven’t had any maintenance issues. We do keep a carbon monoxide detector in the trailer which I’d definitely recommend. We use 20lb bottles and usually only turn it on for a couple hours at night, in the morning and a little in the middle of the day. We use one bottle every 3 weeks or so, 20 days. Is what I’ve started planning on. The diesel heaters still intrigue me, but more things to go wrong and I’ve heard that at altitude they really struggle so I don’t think I’ll try swapping anything out at this point.
To keep the floor warm in my ice shack I use a length of flexible 4in foil dryer duct with a small 12v computer fan in the bottom. Keep the other end of the duct up by the ceiling. The fan pulls the hot air down to the floor. It is quiet and uses very little power.
At this 6:00 mark there was a primo missed opportunity to say "And this is where the magic happens..." like any good MTV Cribs episode. Trailer build looks awesome, keep adventuring you three!
Thanks for the video, you guys gave me some ideas for mine. I’m also slowly converting my trailer to a hunting/ice fishing/camping trailer. Pretty plain and simple mine is as well. Im no carpenter, but it works. Still have rubber flooring, and heater to install along with a few things I seen in your video. Happy hunting
Jordan, you can send a link or description of those table brackets please. Looks good! One thing I noticed that you might want to do is move that jacket hook that is closest to that heater. Looks like its a bit close from the video view. Great set up though. As you put it to use, you will definilty streamline and make improvements as you learn the space. I did a similar design in our enclosed trailer, except I went with fold down beds on each side, and a plywood piece in the middle to make either 2 individual beds, or one big King bed. That leaves room for our motorcycles, dirt bikes, or 4 wheeler. The fold down bunks wouldnt work with the side by side though....you definitely need that extra width
I’ve kept a close eye on things hanging from that hook. The side of the heater doesn’t get hot at all. On Amazon search fold down brackets. That will get you there
@@jordan-budd ty...I havent added it yet to ours yet, but im thinking about adding a solar panel/solar controller for a house battery. Those projects just snowball dont they...LOL. Enjoy, and thx for the info on that link. I found it.
First off, nice setup/build. I bought the same size trailer a couple months ago and want it ready for next fall. Function over Form is my motto - it doesn't need to look pretty but it needs to work :). My biggest concerns with using this trailer for wilderness camping/hunting was how to heat it. When I stumbled across your video I knew I had found the solution. So, I have a few questions I hope you can answer. The documentation online states the vent pipe adjusts to fit walls between 4.5 and 10 inches. Did you need to cut the vent pipe down? Is the 11,000 BTU version keep the trailer warm when temps drop closer to zero? Most of the negative reviews Amazon are related to the piolet lite and or the adjustment knob. Have you hand and issues with your heater? Thanks
@@kenzeigler1382 I cut it down further than 4.5”, knowing it wasn’t recommended. Then have a monitor inside. Our pilot light striker still works fine, the knob has a little play in it around the pilot setting I’ve noticed but still works fine. We’ve used it in the negatives, the heat definitely rises in there, noticeable difference from the floor to the ceiling. It’s still a solid option. I put a diesel heater in recently and that is probably the better option, it doesn’t take that much power and the vents are located closer to the floor and it heats more evenly.
Great Video ladies. I wanna do the same thing this year to a 7x14 Enclosed. How much clearance do you have from the top of the roof of your Honda Pioneer and the roof of the trailer?
Can you give an update on your Ashley Hearth heater? Just wondering if it’s still working as desired? I bought one after watching this and it’s quite fickle for me.
Really cool to get that double usage of hauling your side by side and being a camper. Very ingeuitious! Have you made any modifications since this came out?
In the process of my own build, and the heater was the part I couldn’t figure out. Are you pleased with this heater, would you have done anything different? Any issues of dust getting in the exhaust port?
I started backing in my canam with doors and it’s not too bad. Otherwise I just crawl in and out of the windshield. I’ll be doing an update video soon on everything
The cheap Chinese heaters have issues at altitude and I’m often at high elevations. At the time of building I didn’t have a ton of expendable cash and the non Chinese heaters that are more dependable were about $1000. Just out of my range at the time. I’ve considered switching over
The Chinese versions of diesel heaters do not have the safety functionalities on them that the non chinese (more expensive) versions have. At the time I was on a bit of a budget and propane made more sense. And is still a very good reliable option. I've been debating adding a diesel heater, but the good ones are up towards $1000. Still debating, but the diesels are good options. The only issue I've heard from them is high altitudes will make them run rough and they take more maintenance in general.
Great job! I'm trying to do my cargo trailer now. I've installed that same Etrac in mine.
Looks fantastic, home away from home, some nice tips, thanks for this.
Really nice setup Jordan. Thinking about doing something similar. Easy to tow and loaded with everything you need. awesome!

Nice build ladies.
New sub here great video love what ya do! Trailer is awesome!
Great effort, can I suggest you paint the trailer a lighter colour, then its cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, great video
Cooler in summer yea, but darker colors gather heat better. Black keeps it warmer in winter
I really like it...very functional.

How much insulation did you put in the trailer ? What's the coldest you've camped in ? Outside temp / inside temp.? Was you warm and comfortable?
What your backgrounds? Very knowledgeable and mechanically/electrically inclined.
I grew up and still work on our family ranch in Nebraska. I feel like that’s where I got most of the drive and interest for it

Yes we have, I need to update. Lower cabinets in front, more solar. We’ll do another this summer!

No dust issues. I wouldn't have done anything different, I have considered giving the diesel heaters a look though.
I love it
The folding table on wall where did you get the braces
Very nice
Did you insulate the floor?
Not yet, but it's in the plans.
How hard is it to get out of the sxs when it's in the trailer? I have a Polaris Ranger with doors in a 7 wide. It's pretty much impossible.

any reason why you didnt go for disel heater?

When are some hunting videos coming out?
Whenever I can get some time. After the 1st of the year

Get a Chinese diesel heater , way safer than what you have.
