Utah Archery Mule Deer | The Maxxis Buck
มุมมอง 14K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
In 2023 I drew an archery mule deer tag down in Utah. It was a "general" tag and the hunt proved to be pretty difficult, more so than it feels in the film. With overall low deer densities, we looked over hundreds of miles of country and turned up a group of bucks with a very solid four point. Can you do a review on the sig Tango DMR?
Checking the headspace anytime a barrel swap is performed would probably be in one’s best interest
@@freedomadventure2018 they’re pre-headspaced. And it’s shooting an inch
If you have the 7mm PRC version, can you swap to a .300 win mag or only the 300 PRC?
This^ Would love to know because I already have the 300 Win Mag version and would love to be able to barrel swap to something else
Great job! I'm trying to do my cargo trailer now. I've installed that same Etrac in mine.
Great job staying positive
Ordered my 300wm last night. I’m stoked to get a hold of ‘er!
I would love to see a performance review of the 300 prc. I can't find one anywhere.
what wrench are you using for magnum??
@@RaginRacin1 one will be available on Sigs site soon. A wrench with the standard on one side and magnum on the other.
@@jordan-budd Been on the phone with Sig for the past week. They don't even know what a barrel wrench is. We had to go the sevice book to show them a picture. The first tool they sent me to take barrel nut off is a action wrench that also does not fit the Magnum.
@@jordan-budd also not wanting to wait on Sig when they have one availble already else where.
First off, nice setup/build. I bought the same size trailer a couple months ago and want it ready for next fall. Function over Form is my motto - it doesn't need to look pretty but it needs to work :). My biggest concerns with using this trailer for wilderness camping/hunting was how to heat it. When I stumbled across your video I knew I had found the solution. So, I have a few questions I hope you can answer. The documentation online states the vent pipe adjusts to fit walls between 4.5 and 10 inches. Did you need to cut the vent pipe down? Is the 11,000 BTU version keep the trailer warm when temps drop closer to zero? Most of the negative reviews Amazon are related to the piolet lite and or the adjustment knob. Have you hand and issues with your heater? Thanks
@@kenzeigler1382 I cut it down further than 4.5”, knowing it wasn’t recommended. Then have a monitor inside. Our pilot light striker still works fine, the knob has a little play in it around the pilot setting I’ve noticed but still works fine. We’ve used it in the negatives, the heat definitely rises in there, noticeable difference from the floor to the ceiling. It’s still a solid option. I put a diesel heater in recently and that is probably the better option, it doesn’t take that much power and the vents are located closer to the floor and it heats more evenly.
Awesome build! Im trying to think of a shower setup for my trailer similar to yours. Wish you wouldve shown the whole shower setup and your access hole to drain it. I got a folding dog pool as my shower pan and the same shower curtain hook ceiling mount. I plan on cutting a hole in my floor and putting a marine acess hatch for the drain. Was hoping to see a set up similar to what Im planning.
@@laurafy I’ll do another video soon and show the changes I’ve made with that. I ditched the shower curtain and bought a shower/privacy kit that is supposed to mount on an overland vehicle and mounted it inside. It’s been a better enclosure.
@jordan-budd great! I'll be looking out for it
Badass set up!
I love it
Really nice setup Jordan. Thinking about doing something similar. Easy to tow and loaded with everything you need. awesome!
Great video !! You killed it !!
Rad setup. 😎
Where did you get the replacement barrel from, @jordan-budd? Sig doesn't seem to sell them, nor can I see them offered by Proof. Great vid by the way.
Meateater needs to be a sponsor
Can you give an update on your Ashley Hearth heater? Just wondering if it’s still working as desired? I bought one after watching this and it’s quite fickle for me.
@@patrickhankins5381 mine is still working fine, we’re about to use it again today. What’s giving you issues?
❤️ it, I like the idea, all in one. Dogs 🐶🐶,sxs and not sleeping in a tent ⛺️ or back of a truck bed 🛏️. I’m mostly a solo upland hunter.👍🏽👍🏽 good job.
Nice build! I’m taking notes.
Everything you said is in the hunters Bible. Never leave a possible wounded animal. GREAT JOB! GREAT TEACHING! GREAT BUCK ❤
Great review! I have run original 10k version for about 2 years and they are my favorite piece of kit besides my rifle. Have 3 rifle profiles dialed in for me and my son’s guns and it works flawlessly. One gun profile paired to sig bdx scope, also great! These binos are the bees knees. Shot a deer on a tight angle bedded at 339y quickly without even a second thought. Next day used my son’s profile he shot a deer at 197y straight uphill. Again no problems. Was interested to see the upgrades to new version. The blue tint never really bothered me unless it was really getting dark. The wind buttons look amazing, so much faster. The eye cups also being metal is an upgrade. After my last hunt, the binos were dusty as hell and the eye cups would not dial out (for eye relief) I actually twisted off one of the rubber eye cups. Had to spin it off, loosen the three screws, clean, grease and put back on rubber piece with double sided tape.
What barrel nut wrench are you using?
I know, right? "An AR Barrel nut wrench... but it's actually different" is remarkably useless information without a little more context like who it's from. As far as I can tell from my cross it's the same pattern but slightly enlarged. None of my AR wrenches work.
@@AWv9z one will be available on Sigs site soon. A wrench with the standard on one side and magnum on the other.
Awesome content. Great job on a beautiful deer
Way to stay with it!
Did you only have to change the barrel for the 7mm PRC conversion?
@@kiarnanmclaughlin6971 yes. The bolt face is the same size for those two so didn’t need to change anything there.
@jordan-budd what about the magazine or bottom metal?
@@tannerking2265 no, didn’t have to change any of that. That’s the beauty of the system.
@@jordan-budd game changer
@@tannerking2265 it’s pretty cool.
Great job and video, congrats!.... but im still wanting to know where did the first one hit ha
@@it_is_what_it_is_brotha upper front leg. I saw the arrow kick sideways and thought it missed him, but just clipped him. Day Six broadheads cut him enough to keep bleeding
@jordan-budd thank you i can now sleep tonight ha
Who is making carbon barrels for these Cross Magnums? I have a 300 WM version and looking to swap to 7mm PRC as well. I'm not able to find the barrel! Thanks.
Proof Research is making them, however not sure they're available for purchase just yet.
@@jordan-budd thank you. So you bought 2 guns and are swapping barrels between them?
@@joshuareed3999 no, you can buy the barrels themselves that are interchangeable.
@@jordan-budd can you show me where to buy the 300 prc barrel, I have the 7mm prc version of the sawtooth.
Following: Just talked to Proof and they dont have extensions to build any barrels for us that want a 300 PRC barrel
Nice !
Thanks for the insight of what you carry during your hunts. We all see the size of your pack as you hunt and often wonder what are you carrying and why? Best of luck for the up coming season. Skillet
Jordan were embarrassed that it took six months to get over here to watch your film. You are such a great videographer and bowhunter! That film was very enjoyable to watch. Good job girl! and the way last winter was that buck was probably down 10 inches from normal. He was still really nice.💪👍👊
Taking my 16 yr old daughter out chasing muleys with a bow in Utah in a few weeks. This will be her 4th hunt, shes taken 2 bucks so far. Shes a lot like you, fun to watch. Good job!
Thank you and good luck out there!
Getting excited for the season to start💪🏻
I wished they made lens caps for each end like Swaros.
How does the glass quality and resolution on the Gen2 compare to Gen1?
It’s improved from what I could tell
Great video. I’ll get one. Gen 2
Ummm ... WOW... amazing... powerful.... moving...and yup I've done everything in this film ....but this film is so stark...
Very helpful, deserves more views!
Great job 👏🏽
Good buck! Good video
Really cool to get that double usage of hauling your side by side and being a camper. Very ingeuitious! Have you made any modifications since this came out?
Yes we have, I need to update. Lower cabinets in front, more solar. We’ll do another this summer!
Best review , does that mean i can change my shooting direction and the system will know that and will recalculate for windage ? I mean no need for change wind direction in the ballistic every time I change my shooting direction?
You have to change the direction that the wind is coming from and the speed manually. But you can do it inside the binocular rather than having to get into the app
Thanks 🙏
👋! Great explanation!
May I ask what binos you are running in this pack?
Those were Sig Sauer Zulu9, 9x42. Now running the Zulu10 10x42.
@@jordan-budd Thank you!
Love it, JBudd!
I really like the orange. I ordered a Sig Cross Trax
Enjoy your videos way more than most. Good to see you both out there again. Where do you get your music from? Genre?
Love seeing a hard working woman appreciate hunting. Congratulations! Hard work for all of you.
Cool
What your backgrounds? Very knowledgeable and mechanically/electrically inclined.
I grew up and still work on our family ranch in Nebraska. I feel like that’s where I got most of the drive and interest for it
@@jordan-budd ok that explains things. I think every ID-MT-WY-SD rancher I know just has that kind of mindset. Very cool channel!
