Great explanation of the rules! We are just playing the campaign in version 1.6 and have a lot of questions. The manual read many times, but still problems arise. The specificity of this title... many rules leave many possible interpretations.

I have a take on Mage Knight. I did a 2 play in a row last time I pulled it. 2 different heroes, the green dragon then the red witch (dont know names). I was a bit confused bc I had the same scoring (~185) in both plays. Which also was similar to my first ever play, 1y before. Almost like it didnt matter. That gave me a lil yikes. Still like the game, just dont know if what I do matter when all my plays end up the same, 2 castles down and same-ish amount of points.
Hey, thank you for the proper explanation! On 22:05 - what do you mean by “special rule can be gained only once”? The survivor can’t throw another stone? Is it applicable to all weapons (I mean special rules for them)? Hope that makes sense
I could have more clearly stated that as, "May only be gained once per act." So the idea is if you've found a way to attack with 2 of the same weapon at the same time (for instance with the Ambidextrous fighting art) any special rules those weapons have can only be used once.
Bored Online? Board Offline! Thank you, I think I get it, Founding Stone is what confused me, as there can be a situation when the survivor may hurl 2 stones for 2 crits within one act
Good question, m’lord. Yes any affinities, special rules, or effects associated with the armor are still in play even if the armor is reduced to zero. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Yeah....this look absolutely awesome. Pricey but the game play looks amazing. Feels like it would be a project to get into this I also saw on your scenario run through you had an app to keep track of items etc. It feels like that would be a sensible thing to get?
If you have any intention of playing solo the app is fantastic. Multiplayer it’s not as necessary since the book keeping can be split amongst the players. It’s called Scribe for KDM and here’s the link if you use Apple devices apps.apple.com/us/app/scribe-for-kd-m/id1363804894
Looks fun, but I'll be damned if I am gonna drop $400 on a board game. I thought Mage Knight was expensive. Holy Crap. Is there anywhere to buy it at a reasonable price?
Honestly I never would have jumped into this game alone. Went in together with some friends. However, now I'm absolutely hooked and I've been scooping up expansions with my own cash! Unfortunately with the game remaining relatively scarce and the MSRP being $400 the only time you can usually get it for less is when the KDM website has big sales (usually Good Friday). Ebay almost always is more expensive. I recommend finding someone who has taken the plunge and play their copy!
The game has so much in the box I don't see a way it could really be all that much cheaper. The number of cards alone without the miniatures are still about $300 worth of stuff.
