Too bad I wouldn't listen until it was an infernape
I liked Electabuzz's reaction as he saw Monferno he's like: "What the? Chimchar?" And Monferno is like: "That's right." with a smirk and Electabuzz was like: "You evolved, this oughta be fun." with a smirk. That's what it looked like.
IKR?

Well ,electobuzz didn't care about it, even he did evolve or not but he was realy happy to battle with a competeter of his own size .Adn confident too.

Paul always had good ass pokemon. It was fucken amazing. Sad that the new rivals now are so trash
BboyXposure idk man. In Paul’s 6v6 only two of his Pokémon were able to KO anyone, in the battle against Alain most of them were useful, Bisharp dropped both Hawlucha and Goodra, Weavile dropped Noivern and Unfezant dropped with Talonflame. Sawyer was even better, all of his Pokémon except Aegislash dropped bodies on Ash’s team.
@@arunnumapathy7003 don't forget about Gary
Except his golem and magmar his every Pokemon took down Ash's Pokemon
His scissor took down 2 of ash Pokemon, mukh and even snorlacks
His nidoqueen single handily took down torros his blastoys took down bayleef and defeated heracross with one hit
Gary also got a lot of powerfull pokemons
Remember only in kanto region he caught more than 200 pokemons
He got the biggest Pokemon army among any of ash rival
And his every team is perfectly balanced with every type of strong pokemons
@@arunnumapathy7003 judging a pokemon as bad/ poor based on how many kos it got is not a very good method. Sure they might not have done any knockouts themselves, but they undeniably contributed a lot towards ones that did. Staraptor may not have been as easy to take down were it not for the damage it took against gastrodon, and the fight between infernape and electevire would not have been anywhere near as close as it was had it not been worn down by aggron and ninjask.
Electabuzz defenetly cared for chimchar and seeing it evolved surprised it but made him happy to see his rival is still growing

If monferno did get blaze at that moment it would have been the biggest comeback for ash
Infernape swept Pauls party.
Lol
Infernape did give ash his best comeback.
Ya especially if he used a fire type move instead of Mach punch 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ of course he wouldn’t though
I doubt he would’ve been able to win, even if Electabuzz went down. Paul still had Honchkrow, Magmortar, and Torterra.
0:19 that face explains how much hell Pikachu is going through
What I liked the most about that fight was how it showed Electabuzz ;s surprise when first seeing Monferno, and then his shock at his speed (even though it was more of case of Mach Punch attack being fast but nvm).
catxborsuq1 huh?
catxborsuq1 zeh
Ash was never going to win this battle; he treated it like a normal fight, while Paul pulled out all the stops. He might have been verbally disrespectful, but in the battle itself he treated Ash like a champion and tried multiple different strategies and options.
Conversely, he underestimated Ash in the conference: he thought Ash was going to be equally careless and decided to instead experiment (like by trying some of Ash's own tactics). Meanwhile, that time Ash treated Paul seriously and thus won.
Looking back and after reading this, I definitely want to see a full battle between Ash and Paul where both are going serious. Even if Ash still uses his Sinnoh team and not Ace team or Journeys team, we got that Masters 8 training battle back then but I wanna see them battle 6v6 full on.
In this battle. Paul's Ursaring was like the Thanos of his team

I always thought about how clutch it would be for Ash to sweep Paul with Monferno
I mean, Infernape did take out half of Paul’s team in the Sinnoh League.
That Urraring has battled Chimchar three times now and has never managed to beat it. The first time was when Paul first caught it. The second time was when Chimchar's Blaze activated for the first time. And the third time was now.

I also used to like Paul but now I hate him for abandoning Chimchar, that cute little pokemon doesn't deserve that but I'm glad Ash took him in and helped him get stronger to evolve.
Paul is good now in Pokemon Journeys. He learnt from his mistake.
@@amarnathcr7335 yes we know
@@amarnathcr7335 He still got off too easily. In the Gen 1 anime when we saw a trainer abandon his Pokemon for losing matches he was treated as a villain and got torched.
This doesn't happen to Paul, making things worse is that we saw the defeats Chimchar suffered were entirely Paul's fault, and this is coming from a guy who claims defeat a Pokemon suffers is the trainer's fault which indicates that attitude was just another way for him to berate others. Oh, and there was also that he TORTURED Chimchar as well. Even Team Rocket was disgusted by what he did, and they are supposed to be villains, albeit likable ones. Plus they have regularly gotten punished for less than what Paul did.
Really the series should have made Paul a full blown villain after that.

Ash lost the six on six battle because he didn’t have a strategy.
Pretty much. Also Paul had battled all of ashes mons before bar buizel.
Ash’s biggest weakness is never rotating his Pokémon. After the Silver Conference, he only rotated his older Pokémon for the Battle Frontier and the Lily of the Valley Conference. Paul however, doesn’t play like that. Since he wants to win, he brings out his best Pokémon.
That, along with Ash evolving his Chimchar too late in the battle and disregarding Blaze ability solidify as to why "Chimchar is a strong cute unevolved Pokemon who does not need evolution and Blaze ability" premise is utter garbage. There's a difference between an ace and a cute mascot and Chimchar was too much of the latter.
if monferno was unbeaten in this battle then the final battle wouldn’t be that much awesome when ash kicked out paul from the tournament and paul understood the power of chimchar!

1:06: Ursaring is a real beast
Of course, Ash taking out pikachu when his battling Paul’s Torterra
Lol, and of course Paul didn't want to use Torterra against a Pikachu.
It was stupid on both ends. One because Ash wanted to risk battling against someone with TWO type advantages. And two because Paul didn't take that chance, since he clearly returned Torterra, despite its TWO type advantages, in favor for Ursaring. Not to say the outcome would change. Paul won regardless because of all the merciless training he put his Pokémon through in addition to using strategy.

Imagine if Paul were to use Ursaring in their full battle at the Pokémon League. Ursaring and Drapion on the same team -- Ash would've been annihilated.
Mata the One-X and Torterra, Paul team could have been a lot stronger, but then again Ash's team could've been more powerful too.
Maybe. Though ash could have easily brought back his Charizard, Sceptile, Snorlax and Glaie in that battle as he could have in this one and would have had better odds.
@@dragondudeification Definitely not likely, since Ash used the team that he used for a reason.
@@matadeverdoemden I know. I'm just saying if they both wanted to bring their hardest hitters and tanks, they could. They would be at even odds. With ash maybe having a bit more edge with those specific Pokemon beating frontier brains and being in previous leagues.

I want a mega electivire just so I can see Paul body so many people with it
I'm guessing Monferni might have taken out Electabuzz or atleast tied if Ash had gone with Flame wheel as his last move since Blaze's kicks up fire moves and mach punch was a fighting type move
Because of plot Electabuzz probably would've still won
If we were to use the games as reference (though the anime usually ignores it), Monferno's base speed is 81 vs Electabuzz' 105, so maybe Monferno wouldn't have even been able to get in fast enough without the priority of Mach Punch.
The face Electabuzz made before Monferno fainted was the same face Mega Charizard X made before Greninja fainted.
Ursaring is not this tanky in the games. Why did they make it so unnecessarily tough?

Good the Pokemon.🔊🎛️
Let's not mince words. Paul's Ursaring was an absolute monster. It just took hits and hit back with twice the power. If Paul used Ursaring against Ash during the Sinnoh League, Ash would've lost. Sure, Infernape had Mach Punch, but Ursaring for sure would've worn it out. Not to mention he had Torterra and Magmortar on standby, Paul was nerfed in the rematch, hands down.
Yeah, I feel like Paul had no idea what he was doing in the rematch, and that using a completely new team (save for Electivire) was just a gimmick. Not to mention that Drapion and Electivire were literally the only Pokémon he used that managed to defeat some of Ash's Pokémon, while in this battle it was only Weavile and Magmortar that *didn't* defeat at least one of Ash's Pokémon.
In this battle Paul showed how intelligent, strategical, and stoic he actually could be
Michael White why would Paul use the same Pokémon he used in his first match with ash. Paul wasn’t nerfed, he just used different Pokémon. It’s really not a big deal. There’s no excuse for him. He lost fair and square
Morten Aanstad Paul still showed his intelligence in his second match with ash and he still lost fair and square. There’s no excuses
@@jasonmoukala8909
His intelligence was barely showing; in the first rematch it was obvious that he was thinking several steps ahead, made switches and predictions, and overwhelmed Ash since the latter wasn't prepared for a battle that isn't primarily about speed, strength, and endurance. The rematch basically had Paul relying on brute strength, or one strategy that was easily disrupted without him thinking of a comeback if it did get disrupted
I mean ash would of knew what he was up to. Probbaly. All of his mons in the rematch had abitles that had ash worrying, and toxic spikes was a big problem for him. He used magmotar and ursaring recently so ash would of seen them coming, Paul threw ash in loop with Pokemon like aggron, gastrodoon, frosslas and ninjask.
0:19 oof
