I met a fellow recently whose grandmother was a Harvey Girl. He had a few fun stories. Thanks for this video. I have been to the Barstow station, it’s a great stop.
Alright enjoyed another evening with you Kendall. I have been by the place but never stopped there. I recall when I was in middle school, back then known as Jr High, my brother and a friend hopped on a train in Boron California just about 50 miles away from Barstow. They had intended on jumping off that train when they got to the edge of Boron our home town then. Well the train was a short one and by the time they got to the other side of town the train was traveling to fast to jump off so they took an unwanted free ride to Barstow where the train finally stopped. They had to call mom to go pick them up. Glad I was not with them that time for Mom really let them know why . Any ways apricate your sharing your life thrills with us have a good blessed life . "The Harvy Girls" was a 1946 motion picture, never a Broadway play. MGM didn't do Broadway plays. The song (That won the Acadamy Award that year) was "On The Atchison Topeks & Santa Fe") was from that film.
