I pretty much agree with you. The only motorcycle that’s close, in my mind, is the Honda Goldwing DCT. The price of maintenance is my only concern when considering the BMW.
I have the 2018 full 719 option and love it, doing big mileage on it in a day is easy sound system kind sucks but sounds way better when feeding it from an old iPod I have good mpg too for its size and the flip out wind deflectors to push more air onto your body works a treat and you could cook dinner on the heated seat
I have this bike, I'm at 4K and loving every mile. I have preset the grips and seat, very convenient. The bags are wicked easy to remove. Unfortunately my phone doesn't fit in that small space, I keep my registration in there instead.
A little Dremel work to the bottom right of cubby and a 180 degree micro USB connector and removing spring from rubber plunger....and a Galazy S23 fits without a case.
The engine sound on this bike is amazing. Like a damn sports car!! Also, now that you've mentioned it we are gonna need a review on that Yamaha MT10, stat!
I have owned 2 of them. One was new, zero miles. I will never own a k again. Too much can and could go wrong and you never know when that day will come. Well, it came for me, yes it did. 3 big problems: 1) Expensive/hard to find parts. 2) Many dealers are closing and hard to find them in the USA, most of the time, they are very far. 3) Very hard to work on and if you do, you will need a reset tool and its not cheap. Fun to ride, yes. Powerful, yes. Good looking, yes. So, you pick and choose. No more for me. Sold them and bought a new Goldwing DCT Tour. I will not come off the Goldwing ever again. Honda for me, for life. You put her in Sport Mode and she is not Goldwing anymore, its a Porsche on 2 wheels. Just an incredible machine and insanely reliable. I have 16K on it now, I never saw the dealer on anything. I wanted to love the K, BMW burnt me. Enjoy the K everyone and good luck with this crazy machine.
One of the "memory buttons" leads straight to the screen that turns on the heated grips, so it's not THAT bad, but yes I would prefer a button on the handlebar controls
Oh man Omni man! The big BM! The king of tourers! Great stuff & funny as always 💪💪😉 I seriously didn’t know you had an MT10! Would love to see you wheelie that naked monster!!🚀
Dude, I did not expect this big honkin' bimmer to be as incredible as it was. It is a stellar machine with incredible capability. The MT-10 just made its way to the service schedule at the store I work at for mid-March, so hopefully it will be ready to play once season hits. Thanks for watching as always!
I traded my 2018 Goldwing DCT a few weeks ago for the 2022 K1600GT and I am loving it! Do I miss the DCT transmission? Heck yes. Had to get used to using a clutch again. The GT is a big bike but smaller compared to the GW. Plus it is 150 lbs lighter!! Much more maneuverable than the GW. The GW in sport mode can outrun the GT. We are comparing an 1800cc vs a 1650cc engine though. Cost is relative since both bikes are in the $30k range. I perform my own general maintenance, so the only time the GT will be in the shop is for the major work I cannot perform. Durability/reliability will be something that is still being observed on the BMW. I still feel that the Japanese bikes have that market cornered. So far I am enjoying the BMW experience!
Awesome insight, thanks for sharing your experience. I feel with the power:weight of the BMW it would certainly be a close race between it and the GW, I'd be curious to seem them line up. Wishing you the best in your BMW experience. Ride safe! 😎
Great review - I cam from 20 years of HD big twins to a 2023 model of this and have no regrets whatsoever - just a better bike all round. One point tho, you didn’t need to throttle off on that quick shifter, simply wind it on and flick up……heaps faster ….ride safe 👍🏻
only thing stopping this bike from being perfect is the ruinous service cost when its time for a valve check and lack of apple carplay/android, which IMO every touring bike should include.
It's been a while since this video, but goddam this bike was so incredible to ride for as large as it was. One of my top 10 test rides for sure. Absolute blast of a bike to ride and tour with. Unfortunate about the service cost and no carplay/android. Thanks for watching!
Hey there! Thanks for the comment. I use Skorpion Exo Air gloves. They have padded palms and carbon-fiber knuckle guards. I've added a link below where you can purchase them. There are 3 colors available. I ordered size XL for my measurements and they were a perfect fit after a week of breaking them in. I am not sponsored by RevZilla in any way. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/scorpion-exo-vortex-air-gloves
Hey bud from South Africa 🇿🇦. There's 4 shortcut buttons on your left.....you can program those buttons for grip heating, radio, nav, speed dial, etc. but I would prefer the GW....that DCT is something else. Also, I'm not sure why BMW never equipped the K16s with active cruise control when they have them on bikes like the R18.
My still shots in my intro/outro are shot on an iPhone 14 Pro and a DJI stabilizer. First person shots are done with a GoPro Hero 7 Black with a microphone adapter and a purple panda microphone ran into the helmet tucked behind the cheek pad.
Difficult to take your review serious with your level of research prior to creating this video as well as you keeping your helmet on during all non-riding narration (about 1/2 of the video?).
I have one and won't go back to any other bike. best ever. From South Africa
I pretty much agree with you. The only motorcycle that’s close, in my mind, is the Honda Goldwing DCT. The price of maintenance is my only concern when considering the BMW.
Great review and well done dude.

I just traded in my GW DCT for this Grand America. Don’t even bother with the GW. Get this!!
All the Big Boy needs is adaptive cruise control. RT has it this should it as well.

Man said all that just to reveal at the end he didn't even do the 600 mile service on his new Goldwing 💀
I agree. I hate the v screen, the tft screen, looks upside down" heated grips on screen. What could be simpler than pressing a button.

never lost to my friends gold wing from a roll or a dig not even close !!!
I'm a simple man, I see an Omni Moto video, I watch and comment to feed the algorithm.
Legend 💯😎
FYI It have a quick shifter up and down. Great motorcycle , I have one and I love it . Great video

Unbelievable, didn't even realize this bike had a QS. Thanks for the info, always appreciate learning something new! Ride safe. 😎
I think you missed out on one of the most key features... The quick shifter on that sucker is nuts
I definitely forgot to mention that. I even used it a few times. Such an insane machine. Thanks for your comment!

What's up with the cord between the right mirror and the shield
Omni man, where was this shot? Looks familiar...
Near Columbia, MO.

Hey there South Africa! Thanks for the info, much appreciate the fresh knowledge. Ride safe. 😎
DCT is nice in terms of never having to shift manually but it’s clunky on the downshifts and at times during slow speeds it would shift unexpectedly.
I personally would love to see a ride/review of the MT10 from you especially since it's your personal bike and you've had more experiences with it.
I'm planning to do one, I just don't know when. It'll happen though. Thanks for watching!
The CFmoto 450SS got delivered to my local shop today... I'm hoping you get on the US release soon bud
As soon as one is at our store I’ll get to it. 👍
@@Omni_Moto I kinda figured. Just figured to let you know they're probably on the way here shortly
K1600 GT go Vroom vroom. .

My still shots in my intro/outro are shot on an iPhone 14 Pro and a DJI stabilizer.
