Wow - very good job covering a very difficult topic. Explaining stratigraphy, layers, and features in historic archaeology is daunting. Jamestown archaeology is doing an excellent job in both the excavation and the interpretation of the historical record of this very important site. Love the videos!
Absolutely enjoying this series. I’m a total novice but lover of archeology. To think you walk on ground that others walked on 100’s of years ago. Keep up the good work. You all are amazing and dedicated. Mary
This was very informative and just plain nice to watch. The process of knowing what and where to look for, say house or structure foundations, wells, and other hints of ancient living is so fascinating and intriguing. We know that the church has been rebuilt a couple of times. Has any portion of the fort been rebuilt before any outside activities taken place. Like the Confederate fort that disturbed the soil upon which it was built. And could you excavate the Civil War fort for artifacts from that era? If so, what kind of Civil War artifacts were found? I hope that makes sence.
Yay! Another Episode!

Does it never rain ? Are these areas/protected by tents for example ?
How do you make and keep the sides of your pits so perfectly straight?
Thank you
