Yo I was down to just MC and Gepard, and then Cocolia’s attack killed Gepard, ONLY HIS AUTOREVIVE MECHANIC HIT AND BROUGHT HIM BACK RIGHT AS THE CHORUS OF WILDFIRE KICKED IN AND IT WAS THE HYPEST SHIT IN THE WORLD(I did not know he had that mechanic at the time btw so it was a lovely surprise)
Something genshin will never have: turn based games allow for infinite possibilities in terms of presentation and spectacle. You can turn any concept into a usable unit due to not needing to make designated hitboxes, not needing to follow ARPG standards, and you cab really put emphasis on movie quality special attack scenes and in fight cutscenes because it will always feel natural between turns or actions. It is amazing what a turn based system does for the spectacle of a game.
I mean, action based game have just as much potential too... But I'm with you there. I'm also a big defender of Turn-Based systems and Thier cinematic potential has yet to be reached in the modern age of gaming. The golden days of 90s JRPGs are gone but that doesn't mean turn based gameplay is "outdated" it's just that no AAA game has yet to create a modern & cinematic depiction of these games. Games like Resonance of Fate & Trails of Cold steel, and Yakuza 7 prove that the genre isn't outdated from a mechanical standpoint, it's outdated in terms of visual execution & direction during combat . We just need more people innovating upon it and not settling for 90s sprite based nostalgia (which is also nice in its own right).

God, this game's English voice acting kills me so deeply, deeply inside. It's like going from watching a top tier subbed anime with modern VAs to a bad budget anime dubbed in the 90s.

the Light cones concept makes it better too, they give the devs freedom the create unique weapon
