    Loved to see James has not forgotten his Aussie lingo and Allison is learning that the woods and the bush are the same thing. We loved seeing you guys enjoying the great outdoors. And yes you don't need $30M boats with helicopter to enjoy the great outdoors. See you guys next week.

      You can take the woods out of the bush but you can’t take to bush out of the woods! You defiantly don’t need a $30M boat but by the same measure you also don’t need handles on your toothbrush or the inside portion of your tent…

    Great channel - I have been a fan of sailing videos for quite a while now. Sadly a lot of them have become just clickbait for views and more like selfie videos LOL. I have honed my skills at choosing channels to follow. If it involves a super expensive boat I'm out! If every episode is some super expensive port I'm out. Channels like this let us regular folk live a bit vicariously!

    Flashing on the laundry at Shearwater gave me tumultuous shakes of nostalgia! And the showers: 0ne lunni gets you two minutes of hot water, but remember your sandals! There were a few visiting dignitaries there on my last visit. My partner said that they must look at us in our 35 year old boat as pond scum. And another sailor reminded us that pond scum always rises to the surface. We all had a good laugh a few adult beverages and a fond farewell the following morning. Your videography, editing and story telling is really good. I'm thoroughly enjoying your experience.

    Shearwater is one of my favorite little towns to stop by overnight. One thing they are great at are the “Keg stands”. Boats hauled out were sitting atop of beer kegs. Looking forward to returning in a couple years.

    Hi guys, I’d rather be doing what you’re doing then to be stuck on that big yacht and worried about how you going to that pay the bills and hopefully all employees are getting paid properly etc etc. You can go places where this big yacht would never even think about going but you can go where it goes. How good is that anyway, keep up the good work. Love the videos Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺👨🏻‍🦽

    The irony of Sheerwater being an Eco-tourism area with power boats & a fricken yacht being the norm.

    • @AllisonandJamesSailing
      @AllisonandJamesSailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Eco-tourism is meant to be minimally impactful. The Heiltsuk (who run Shearwater) greatly contribute to the conservation of the natural environment in the area. The model is definitely an improvement from extraction based industries, at least for the environment. Thanks for watching, cheers!

    • @brulew976
      @brulew976 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AllisonandJamesSailing I wasn't being critical of the efforts being made the Heiltsuk. This is rather ironic that a massive yacht with a heliport is there to take it all in. I recently discovered your videos and enjoy catching up on them. Thanks

    Great video. That looks like a ~150 genoa, how you liking it? Got a 150 on my c34-2, she's alotta sail and doesn't have good form when furled too much. 110 is on my list for the shoulder months and thinking of giving this one a facelift and cropping a tad. Where you guys now? Merry Ho Ho

      Happy holidays mate, we hope 2025 keeps yours sails full! We had a 150 and usually had to keep it rolled up a bit giving it a terrible shape. We've since got a 135 that can be rolled down to 105 while keeping it's shape, we LOVE it! We're over wintering in the Broughtons with plans to head north again in 2025. If your in the area give us a shout!

    The NHS is far from perfect. The biggest problem we have is that the treasured service we get with the NHS is now providing treatment for a huge range of procedures that were not around when the NHS was formed in the 1950’s.
    Also because of our crazy immigration laws add to this our 40 years in the European Union increased the population of the UK since 1950 by a further 9 million people all have free access to the NHS.
    The NHS can no longer cope with the volume of demand on it, it could not cope when it was first set up now it’s far worse.
    Our Prime Minister in 1997 was Tony Blair and he opened the doors to mass immigration without understanding the impact on our public services.
    I think the German system is one you should look at, it’s similar to yours but there is control on how much profit can be made and insurance companies are controlled by the government
