Pretty sure Santos only decided to recuse himself so he wouldn’t have to do literally anything. He already doesn’t take phone calls from constituents/local lawmakers. Hasn’t spent any time in his head quarters, makes sense he would step down from his assignments so all he really is required to do to earn his $174,00 is raise his hand occasionally. Assuming he even shows up to do that.
He didn't recuse himself. Behind closed doors he was asked to to do so in order to make it easier for McCarthy to rip others off committees with no justification and in exchange for retaining his vote and letting him stay in Congress.

I read that once, a long long time ago, in a dark forgotten corner of the world, there was a child of many names, one of which would one day be George Santos. It is said that once, in the cool breeze of a warm afternoon, he spoke a single, solitary sentence of truth. Unfortunately, the only witness was was deaf, and so those words will never be heard by human ears.

Senate and Congressional income should be reduced considerably. Besides their ability to legally insider trade as it is next to impossible to hold them accountable, you get people like Santos who want such a prestigious position, not because they care about the people they serve, but because of how much money they will make.
It's still illegal if they aren't held to account.
Nah, I guess it’s not the money they directly make there, but all the money they can make after leaving and going corporate, or by just being a corrupt corporate puppet, that lets their pockets get filled by shady ‘business’ people and PACs
How about cutting subsidies to oil companies, 90 billion dollars in 2020, for an industry that nets 200 billion in profits.
But then they need to change the rules so that the entry level staffers can make a decent living (currently members of Congress are the highest paid in their offices and there are several tiers of staffers each of whom get paid a lower amount than the staffers above them)
Plenty of fat that can be cut, start with alphabet agencies that have grown out of control , and threaten every citizens privacy. Out of control defense spending, that they can't even audit. Defense contractors, I could go on . But they will cut programs that help citizens,

Well, if they want to hold the debt ceiling hostage, then let them do it. Because when everything crashes and other big countries come knocking and asking "where's our money?", we have an entire list of people to point them to for how to find all the people responsible. :)
I should point out that some of these countries may not be friendly about this (Russia and China for example - in fact, doing this with the Russians and Chinese also sounds like the kind of mob caper that would get the organizers whacked).
1:20 For politicians that preach about “small government” and “freedom,” Republicans are working overtime to make sure the government (*their* government) can tell teachers what to teach and what not to teach.
My grandmother taught school for 36 years. We never went anywhere without hearing "Hi Miss Parker!" from one of her former students.
Which was strange, considering her name was George Santos.
I have been retired for three years and I still get "Teacher!" From somebody whenever I go out of my house. I taught ESOL at our college for 34 years!
I’m assuming Florida teachers have to take the month off. Or just not talk at all.

Want to know why the kids don't learn like they should? Legislators keep trying to control what happens in the classroom. They are some of the most disconnected people about schools as there are in America. They are more concerned about the opinions of their donors and lobbyists than they are about the actual futures of the youth. No one knows what is going on any more. Let teachers teach.
Stephen, I love you brother, and I know it's about the humor, but here's the thing. Calling a gibbon a monkey is like calling a human a monkey. The best way to distinguish a monkey and an ape is that apes do not have tails.
Oh my 🐒🦍
9:30 Regarding the "I-monkey-late" conception, it's a pity Steve didn't tell the full story of how the male monkey managed to impregnate the female monkey. The father monkey was at the time locked in an adjacent cage to the female monkey that was separated by a partition with 6mm diameter air holes. It was concluded that he used one of the holes in the partition as a "Glory hole" to impregnate the female monkey next door.
If only Stephen had also talked about gibbons as primates not monkeys!
Why is that a shame, it leaves so many questions. Did it's dick fit, or did it throw sperm through and it just happened to impregnate the female, or can monkeys just fuck through walls?!
Happens with dogs all the time. The part of the story he told was very misleading as it makes you believe that there was no other ape anywhere
😂😂😂😂
Sounds like the lady monkey was fully cooperating with this miracle!
