Kaneki is more like a 'man of culture' because of how much he knows about literature, he reads things related to poetry and all that stuff (Kaneki could be like the main character of Aku no Hana in that way). But he ain't smart (or at least not like Lelouch or Light) and he isn't trying to be. The story showcases how battles are solved by strenght and not smart strategies like in Code Geass or Death Note. One show that I haven't watched and from what I've been told that is like a wannabe smart anime and doesn't fulfill this aspect well is 'Kakegurui'. I've been told that strategies are kinda dumb and the characters just knows something because the story wants it that way and it's not well developed. (But I won't confirm that because I haven't watched it, I might be wrong).

Love how in the beginning Light is more calculating and thoughtful whilst Lelouch is arrogant and assuming. But in the last parts Light is more full of himself and heartless while Lelouch is wiser and puts more thought into his rhymes. I may be overthinking it but it's a nice detail to how the characters developed in the actual anime.

The single thing that makes Lelouch a Dark Hero and Light a Villain Protagonist, is self-awareness. Lelouch always stayed aware of his own actions, and the consequences of them all, and always compared them to see if they truly justified what he wanted to achieve - whereas Light eventually lost himself in the idea of becoming a God, and as his motives and intention changed, so did his willingness to sacrifice things that were vital to his original goal.
I think part of that difference is also their connections to those around them. Lelouch, for all the terrible things he did, always cared about his sister and his friends. When he lost someone, he mourned for them, especially when it was his fault. Throughout his entire story, Lelouch's connections keep him tethered to his humanity, regardless of how painful it it. With Light though it's very difficult to say whether he genuinely cared about anyone other than himself. His father maybe, but the fact that we can't even say for sure really does highlight how much of a monster Light allowed himself to become as his story went on. One by one he used, sacrificed, and cut away his ties with others in order to "ascend" to the god he believed himself to be and as a result lost his humanity. Light vs. Lelouch really is the battle of the god vs. the king. One exists to be served by the people while the other exists to serve the people, at least so far as their ideas of what a god and a king are.
Light and Lelouch. Two masterpieces characters, in a different way (This comment contains spoilers of both Death Note and Code Geass) Light is the example of the human : he’s bored, so he decides to use his death note to create a new world. He’s not an hero, but neither an antihero. We’ll never know if Light was good or evil, but he was a normal human, so he got corrupted by the death note. He wanted to become a god, he gets killed by a real god (Ryuk). He made us question justice, and showed us how pitiful humans are. Lelouch, a wonderful character. He wanted vengeance. What I found interesting about this character, is that he was so determined, that he was angry when Britannia wanted to make a deal with the Japanese. He wanted to destroy Britannia, but he wanted Britannia to be horrible with Elevens and the Black Knights, because it gave him a real reason to fight them. Also, he accepts to die as a villain. It’s way easier to die as a hero. You cannot really compare them, because saying that Light died « like a bitch » is true, but he was made to die this way. And saying Lelouch was less intelligent than Light isn’t true, we can’t compare two different forms of intelligence. (Sorry for bad English I’m French and I was kinda lazy to use google translate)

Lelouch was seduced by his power and nearly became crazy but in the end he did what was right and saved the ruled, made it a better place for nunally and left the world united. For example, when L baits Kira using TV, he explains his reasoning and how he came to the conclusions that he did. With Code Geass Lelouch just does smart things but we don't see his thought process. That's why Death Note characters are so much smarter than Lelouch imo.

I watched that video too, it seemed wrong and apparently that's the count of the Death note in total, including Mikami and Misa. Also it wouldn't matter anyways cause in the Nippon zone there were about 200000 Japanese a d they all got killed and then some. If you add all the. The biggest difference between the two, in my opinion, is their conviction and just how much they are willing to sacrifice. Light refused the shinigami eyes because it would shorten his lifespan, whereas Lelouch's final plan involved his death
Light wanted to be a god without any sacrifice the minute he was in danger his facade would shatter while Lelouch literally willing to die for the world his sister deserved to live in

Great rap battle but Lelouch won. On a side Note... when he died (willingly) it fulfilled the Plan. When Light died (very much unwillingly) it all was shattered. That is the biggest difference with these Two and why Lelouch > Light

If Light traded his Death Note for Lelouch's Geass, he would have to meet everyone he kills face to face, so he would kill fewer people and leave a trail. If he had Geass in addition to the Death Note, he would be overpowered and the story would end quickly.

This rap battle was what inspired me to finally go check out Death Note. It's also my favourite one on this page, and I feel like all of Light Yagami's lines (since I only know him) were so powerful. He would have succeeded as he would have known to plan beforehand. Light basically failed in episode 2, while Lelouch managed to cover-up his one starting mistake (not killing Villetta)

Im reading that Light was scared of dying at the end of the manga. I wouldn’t know cuz I only watched half of the anime, but if he did, (thats an if) then I feel like the “Im devoted.” Line fits with Lelouch more because he was so devoted that he told his best friend to kill him as a sacrifice to make the world a better place. Meanwhile all Light had to do was write names in a book.
Damn, directors says that they couldn't make another anime like Death Note and Code Geass. Because of trends nowadays. Mostly animes isekai/reincarnated as an OP character with harem and trash plot,unlike these 2 legends will always be one of the best. They couldn't make another anime like both of them because both are such a masterpiece. I mean like compare this anime to new generations and see the difference of how far the new generations is to this 2 animes.

Lelouch was seduced by his power and nearly became crazy but in the end he did what was right and saved the ruled, made it a better place for nunally and left the world united. For example, when L baits Kira using TV, he explains his reasoning and how he came to the conclusions that he did. With Code Geass Lelouch just does smart things but we don't see his thought process. That's why Death Note characters are so much smarter than Lelouch imo.

For what he had, he did a lot considering he solved thousands of incredibly difficult cases and never failed once.

The biggest difference between the two, in my opinion, is their conviction and just how much they are willing to sacrifice. Light refused the shinigami eyes because it would shorten his lifespan, whereas Lelouch's final plan involved his death
Light wanted to be a god without any sacrifice the minute he was in danger his facade would shatter while Lelouch literally willing to die for the world his sister deserved to live in

Im reading that Light was scared of dying at the end of the manga. I wouldn’t know cuz I only watched half of the anime, but if he did, (thats an if) then I feel like the “Im devoted.” Line fits with Lelouch more because he was so devoted that he told his best friend to kill him as a sacrifice to make the world a better place. Damn, directors says that they couldn't make another anime like Death Note and Code Geass. Because of trends nowadays. Mostly animes isekai/reincarnated as an OP character with harem and trash plot,unlike these 2 legends will always be one of the best. They couldn't make another anime like both of them because both are such a masterpiece. I mean like compare this anime to new generations and see the difference of how far the new generations is to this 2 animes.
