guitars are nice as always riffs are good but i hate the mix and sound of guitars after era vulgaris (perfect guitars) the tone has gone worse and worse.. its like they (he) are trying to get something like a modern sound??? but modern sound is shit?? i don't know i feel this album is gonna suck. for me at least of course... the song is mid

I've always liked the Queens sort of sloppy but cool tone, but on the new track the guitars have some sort of weird effect going on.. like the engineer intentionally mixed it to be very low resolution and irritating. Could be something went wrong in uploading or the wrong track version was used.

yeah, I've also noticed TCV bluesy-rocky vibes with janky riffs and slide guitar, as well as vocal delivery. I'd say it's a b-tier single for all the normies to get on board with this release, of course these guys wouldn't start with the main bangers. The first part of the album will definitely be the best part, as usual.

It's the entire Caligulove aesthetic as a qotsa album, although this specific track's chorus had a lil joe walsh feel to it. But Josh essentially just expounded on that track's overall feel from that Them Crooked Vultures album. One of his best songs for sure

QOTSA has so many great riffs, really creative but not overly complex. I remember listening to The Evil Has Landed for the first time and being blown away by the opening riff. QUite simple but really catchy, and really unlike anything I had ever heard before. Thumbs up for pointing this one out too and giving it a playthrough!

I reckon the chorus is the best part with the slide guitars. Not a fan of the overall “sound”. Not as aggressive as the early stuff.

@@Viper-dz2kw yet QOTSA keep bringing legitimately interesting stuff (aside from Villains, it's ok, I guess, but utter dogshit by this bands standards), so while old farts keep releasing blandly mixed faceless cash-grab, these guys start a new era with every single of their albums.
They've been "not as aggressive" on several occasions even on their early albums. I mean, sure, Era was the last iteration of somewhat old QOTSA, but daym, Like Clockwork is a work of art, I'd put it in their top-3 and I'm a fanboy of "old-school" QOTSA.
