Arima for the longest time was my favorite character. There's so many symbolic themes within his character. One of my favorite ones I rarely hear spoken about is his blank will that he left before the Anteiku Raid in part 1. Where that Arima left a blank will before that climactic battle. I don't believe we are ever given a reason behind this exactly, from what I recall. But now looking at the completed story retrospectively I feel as though Arima left that blank will because he knew what was to come. He'd known he would choose Kaneki as his successor. As the next one eyed king. He would be his "will." Haise the blank slate of Kaneki would learn under Arima and ultimately bear his burdens. For a long time, we knew nothing about Arima, to which a lot of people didn't care for him. However looking back on the story as a whole there is so much weight and depth behind him that can be greater appreciated now that the story has concluded. I could go on and on about how much I love Arima as a character and how much there is to say about him.
I feel like Arima is _way_ too similar to *Itachi* from Naruto. Both of them: -Are first shown as the biggest badasses in the entire series and completely fodderize the other strongest guys. -Had a terminal illness and pretty much died on their own. -Are initially painted as antagonists, only to be revealed as "good guys" at their death. -Have a more tragic backstory than even our already tragic protagonist. -Cause a huge turn in both Kaneki and Sasuke's characters.
I agree with. People had been telling me that Arima is the Itachi of TG for quite some time now I know why. (I have only watched 86episodes of Naruto). So, do you think Arima was inspired by Itachi ? What is the difference between them ?
Aayush Chandrakar I’d say a difference is the way they affect the characters and how the scenario is treated. Arima was passing the torch to Kaneki whereas Itachi was showing his love. Kaneki is strived to make the world a better place and now has a clear goal whereas Sasuke is confused and conflicted.
I really enjoy him as a character he was mysterious you didn’t know what his motives where with the CCG like everyone you meet and as it goes along in re you understand what he tried to do and his sacrifice for the greater good was even more emotional there’s a lot of sad moments in the series and his death is pretty high up there for just ripping out your heart.
If arima would have been the protagonist and then kaneki coming to take his place and becoming the new protagonist then THAT ..would have really let everyone crying ..... even though :re is over ill always respect arima as the strongest of all ... his life was so unfair :/
@@violentabrahamlincoln1395 First of all i love your profile pic bro, second Since when Arima Died and Kaneki became dragon it was clear that he became the strongest of what lasted of the series, but it was never clear if kaneki really became stronger than arima since the words furuta said that the dragon could one shot eto and arima was clearly an exaggeration i mean, look at the fight of kaneki and furuta, it was really clear that it was not as intense as the one arima and kaneki had and its a shame since the Arima vs Kaneki was backed off in both sides since none wanted to kill each other so to be honest its unclear since Kaneki can lose if he loses concentration or if he gets too crazy.
Arima is certainly one interesting character, throughout the series I have wondered what was Arima's motive, the way he behaves, carelessly killing and not to mention always silent...something interesting will happen, that's for sure!
I would like you to talk about the masterpiece that is called Eto Yoshimura and how she completely changed Tokyo Ghoul, I don’t think that tg would’ve been that good if it wasn’t for her, the elements she brought to the story were amazing, first being the only natural one eyed ghoul, I’m sure you can say more about her so please do
it was too sad that we never got to see the real one eyed King. Would've been great. Tokyo Ghoul ended too soon. Ishida could've done so much. It was probably studio pierrot that forced ishida to rush the story. One can see the dragon in the latest episode to Tokyo ghoul re. An episode takes too long to make which would mean that they have been working on the dragon since a long time. This can simply mean they wanted to end the anime altogether.
@@LordHydrik yeah i found out yesterday, pretty sad but i can understand after i knew what ishada had to do for seven years straight. i can understood why he did it.

I have only watched 86 episodes of Naruto. In one of the comments I understood why people call him the Itachi of Naruto. But what is the difference between them ? Do you think Ishida took inspiration from Itachi to write Arima's character ? You can spoil me about Naruto.
This is actually a pretty good question since both of them were sick and dying slowly and they had to pass their burden to kaneki and sasuke ..it would be a beautiful inspiration since itachi was considered a genius and the best because he became a chunnin so young ..and arima as well since he ranked up fast in less than a year....which both were genius on their youth...
Eto was thought to be the one eyed king because she came from the same places as the stories of the one eyed king, the 24th ward, specially the underground.... eto was thought to be it because she was super powerful and also happened to be a one eyed ghoul, which more or less fitted the role good enough for the ghoul side...she never really accepted the role as the one eyed king because she didn’t knew what it really was to be part of both worlds as the one eyed king of the stories, but she never denied it until she kind of revealed that he existed but she wasn’t it, and that was when she lost. Arima became the one eyed king when he defeated eto and she realized that he fitted the role perfectly of the one eyed king, a half ghoul that knows how it feels to be part of both the human and ghoul world and not be part of them at the same time as well as being the most powerfull being
I would love a tokyo ghoul series following Eto and her life or a tokyo ghoul series following the washuu one eye ghoul. Both of those series would be dope asf.. Matter a fact a series following alot of characters would be good etc Arima, Donoato, Uta, Touka'S dad.....Tokyo ghoul story has so much potential
I know I’m a year late, but a story with Amon as the main protagonist would also be amazing. Imagine seeing the tg world with ghouls painted as the villains instead of not having any clear villain. You’d see Amon graduate and begin working with Mado, only to have his partner be taken away from him by a ghoul soon after and be replaced with his daughter, meet a ghoul who, for some reason, wanted to let him get away. As the story goes on you’d see him start to question things as he hears about the steel frame incident and sees Kuro and Shiro, then in :Re everything would get turned on its head when Amon becomes the thing that he’s been fighting against for so long, and at that point he’d have to start questioning the world and deciding who are the villains and who are the heroes.
Only Kaneki could be a symbol of hope for the ghoul. Arima already went too far and became a reaper that ghouls are terrified of before he knew it. Arima as a result train Kaneki as the king who is not feared but respected by both sides
This is over a year old so someone's certainly pointed it out by now, but Kaiko wasn't necessarily "controlling ghouls" when using Koma and Irimi so much as "using quinques." Because Arima had no kakuhou, his corpse wouldn't have been able to have been used like that. Matsuri explained that it was a project he'd seen in Germany, to make quinques out of the ghoul's bodies in order to keep the elasticity and variability of kagune, instead of turning it into a weapon that doesn't change (sans gimmicks, anyway), and that it had been shelved. Kaiko implies Kanou revived the project, though he would have had to have "created" Koma and Irimi in one night, as they were killed during the attack on Goat's base and Kanou killed himself the next day.

Ok I assume most of the people here have watched 1st episode of TG:re season 2. Some are wishing for a TG reboot in future. But here is what I think - TG is not getting any reboot. Sure a director can be passionate about it but it won't be adapted as anime ever again. Because money speaks. Studio Pierrot are adaptating the manga. The anime leaves large chunk of story. I get that but it is still an adaptation of the manga kinda of like a recap movie. So, rebooting TG has no benefit because people will already have a general idea about it. It happened with FMA because the previous season had alternate path. It happened with Devilman because it was a very influential manga. I am in no way degrading TG but counting in the loose ends of the ending and the last arc - TG is nothing outstanding but excellent at best. An ideal adaptation would be something that ties in those loose ends and provides clarification for a lot of things that Ishdia didn't clarify. For that you will have to consult Ishdia himself. It requires work on the part of the studio. So, simply adaptation the manga won't work. Studio Pierrot isn't a good studio in that regards all they know are how to adapt straight forward stories. And since other studio already know it is a profitless venture noone will put an effort. I do not have much knowledge of the anime industry. Am I wrong to think like this ? If yes, can anyone bother to tell me where ? I will be great ful.
