No way... I was watching the film thinking "Well, those are good actors. They really pass the feelings, especially Norberto. Feels like this history is real". And I felt myself completely involved. When I saw that it is based on a true story and he is acting as he self, I just repeat NO WAY. Amazing history, amazing channel... can't stop watching.
"The Palace of Magic" is a real place called The Magic Castle. It is a member's only club for magicians. Many moons ago I had the pleasure to be a guest. The owl bit, everything you see, just the way I remember it.
The actor portraying Norberto caught my attention from the start by his subtle facial expressions, gentle humor, engaging eyes and smile, and his posture. He is a gifted and accomplished artist. I would love to see him in other films. 👏👏👏🌹💖
Thank you for your kind words, Jeanne. The actor portraying Norberto IS Norberto, which is me. I hope to participate in other films too, :) Send you my best wishes!
Seriously based on a true story means nothing take a few facts maybe not from anything even relevant to each other dress it up in a framework of imagined events and there you go based on a true story. For example the historical facts in Victorian London where Children were abducted into child slavery Older Children were used to lure them away from their parents with promises that quickly turned into lies. Welcome to Peter Pan based on a true story.
I loved how we were told to not expect clapping from the judges - and when the performance was "over" it was emphasized as over by the silence from judges. So when we come back and see the real end of the performance, the judges clapping is very effective !!!! I really loved how that was set up.
One of the most touching Omeletos I have seen yet. The acting was profound. It was authentic yet hit all the right cords of emotion. A magic trick is never complete without a story behind it. In this instance, the story outweighed the trick itself. 🎩
I’ve been going through a lot of these amazing films on Omletto, I’m so very thankful for them. I do this about once a year, only watching these incredible emotional pieces of art on this channel before my heart and soul is overwhelmed with the pain and beauty of humanity to the point I have to stop for a long while just to digest them all properly. I’m so thankful for this channel and ALL the talented individuals who come together to create such impactful experiences. Writers, actors, cinematographers, editors, assistants and so so many more I’ll never know (not being in “the business”). The work they’ve accomplished has not gone unnoticed. This channel has given me a piece of humanity all other media has missing. Thank you.
This is another powerful poignant Omeleto. Frankly I don't understand how the whole world has not been captivated by Omeleto. This short, for its originality, its acting, its ability to pull its audience into the scenes, absolutely smokes anything that Hollywood puts out with its million-billion dollar budgets. Norberto you are an absolute asset to the arts.
Film school dropout here, and I've just discovered Omeleto. Penn and Teller helped me as an awkward kid in the '90s, and as paranoid freak during the PANDEMIC. This is, hands down (no pun), the best one that hasn't made me question reality.
That was wonderful. It's interesting comparing this to people who somehow think magic disappears just because you believe you understand it. Lots of that around as consequence of mechanicism.
Exquisite, mysterious and poignant: the story, the performance, the atmosphere, the cello music. The short encounter with his master's daughter makes for a powerful and heartwarming scene. For a moment, I thought it would become a romance and I am glad it didn't, although Norberto exudes a rare mixture of charisma, finesse, refinement and kindness that I believe can be quite irresistible. The way he handles that pack of cards so effortlessly is pure artistry and delightful to watch. Not only his story, but his persona deserves a full length movie.
Norberto, I cried watching your lovely performance. My whole life I never found 'magic tricks' particularly captivating. This exhibition, by a man who seemed to exude all that can be good and kind in a man. Truly, it wasn't about the cards at all. It was about finding a little bit of wisdom. That's the true magic; so rarely encountered. I'm deeply grateful to have come across this gem by chance.
Thank you for taking the time to write your message. I'm glad you enjoyed the film, I (we) truly believe that magic is a lot more than a bunch of tricks. I send you my best wishes!
This is a wonderful and touching movie, what a beautiful story. The actor owned every breath of the story. Thank you for making a movie with such feeling. Make more...
I live in Australia. And I and the rest of the country are being bombarded, even on allegedly news programs, of how fantastic the Disney/Marvel movie 'Thor, Love and Thunder" is. I guess they have allocated ar least $400,0000,0000 to promote it. This movie is so much better, so much more beautiful. I thank you for producing this beauty even though you will never get the accolades and financial rewards you deserve.
Just found this by chance. Absolutely breathtaking. Norberto, you should seriously consider becoming an actor. The way you move and gesticulate is hyponitizing. I am subscribing and watching your channel now.
Had to watch the performance for a second time to understand the deepness of this trick. The more you watch it the more you understand the craftsman ship behind this whole trick. I didn't know people put in this much work for card tricks . This motivates me even more to get into origami. I'll definitely get going✌️
One of the most powerful, compelling, and impactful stories told. This should be considered a true artistic masterpiece in and of the art of magic itself. An extremely well conveyed narrative.
Thank you for sharing this true account. Charlie Brown was only two years older than me. He was so young when died. I recognize the actor portraying Norberto the magician Excellent job.
Such a heart-warming story taken from real life. Yes, magic does exist. The actor is very charismatic and has something mystical about him. I also love the portrayal of the "missing" part, of not feeling whole which both father and daughter had. She has been living all her life up until that day missing her father but all she had where the lies that her mother told her. It's a perfect example of how deep these wounds run, no matter how successful, wealthy or loved a person is. It's a haunting feeling and I'm so happy for her that she heard the truth and that she was her fathers' missing piece. 🧙
This was a classic drama with classic dialogue. Exceptionally written. Profoundly displayed. Tragically poignant. Seriously endeavored. There are many avenues of thought and feelings criss-crossing this particular drama. This could be understood as poetry and heartfelt feelings in and of life intertwined. Charlie was able to fit in the missing pieces of the 'Dream of Aces' and assist a daughter in discovering her Dad. This is a wonderful story. + Durasaxon + ✝️
In my honest opinion, Omeleto surpasses everything that comes out of main stream 'movie' production. Well done, superb and accolades I can't currently think of.
I have to say it's a very touching story, even tho i'm not much for magic or cards. I especially enjoyed the camerawork and score during the performance, as well as Norberto's character and dubious expression when he revealed the last two cards before the finale. The reason magic cannot be explained is because once you do, it's not magic anymore.
A very compelling story that makes me want to learn more about this magician. Very well executed short film and the actors conveyed every emotion that was required of them, and then some. Well done!
Para quienes seguimos tu labor , ver esta película es emocionante . Ese niño al espera de su maestro , esa niña mujer que desconoce como era su padre biológico. Lo mágico para mi es que hayas sido el puente para que esa mujer conozca su ancestro . Felicitaciones Norberto!
A wonderfully told story of the untold mistery behind the inside sparkle that compells a young boy to be magician at heart and respect the art form. Jansenson is one of the foremost respected illusionists of our time. The movie exudes poetry class for the layman that is willing to experience the mystical journey of the world of magic. For generations to come… Thank you.
Wow... Just amazing. I was so happy and sad at the same time. No one Applauds at these Magic meetings, but The magicians story about the Dream of Aces cause them to applause. That was the most heartfelt and touching story Ive seen. Bravo to the Writer/director and all those involved. in making this short of the Real life "Charly Brown" I sincerely look forward to more engaging stories like this one from you! A very touching movie. Since the people mentioned are real, I think there is some truth in the story. Maybe dramatized to some degree, but it can't be completely fabricated. True or not, very well written and played. Congratulations to everyone involved. Appreciate your efforts.
That was very beautiful. I felt like the magic was real in how that trick struck such a curiosity, a dream, a sense of absolute wonder and joy, the magician transported me through this story into a memory of that feeling of wonder, he brought me into a truly magical moment for him, and thus passed it to me. The trick was beautiful, very fun, but the story..... ah, that is the real magic right there. Truly beautifully done. Thank you very much for a truly magical moment. And the cinematography.... warm, welcoming, and wonderful. Thank you.
