This line connects to the Louisville-Nashville CSXT main in Lebanon Junction, However I your excursion would have ventured down this line. Although it could have pulled onto it from the main to run around the engines for the return trip.
When I was a kid (about 50 years ago) trains was offer to kids for the Louisville Public School. It started at Louisville Train Station to Lebanon Junction and back. Is this the line that was used for that excursion?
The tender belonged to L&N big Emma 1984 was gonna be used for a auxiliary water tender for 152. The tender on the flat car is 152s original tender new one has higher capacity
I remember once on my way to Tennessee back in the late 80's/early 90's seeing 152 (I assume because of the amount of exhaust) going under the I-65 overpass at Lebanon Junction as I approached. It was a steam locomotive anyhow, of that I am certain. but travelling down the hill to the overpass I didn't really have time or the sight necessary to see her number.
C&O 2716 is now leased by Kentucky steam heritage corp L&N 152 is finally getting put back together and if you've ever see the L&N 0-8-0 in the back there nothing worth restoreing
