6:10 I don’t think the Avg Runs value in the sheet is correct though. You can’t just divide 100 by 0.98. There’s a lot of different math involved, but basically On average, you should enter about 70 times to have a better than 50% chance of winning at least once with a 0.98% chance of winning per attempt. Which is the ‘Avg Runs’ value. And to be 99.99% sure of winning at least once with a 0.98% chance per attempt, you should enter approximately 930 times.

@@_mako Its clearly easier to slot a 45cv feather than a 35 CV on set goblet. If the goblet is the off set piece you will probably get something like "35CV goblet + 35 cv forth piece" If the goblet is the on set you will maybe get "28CV on set + 45 CV off set" That's more stats
@@lafeechloe6998or if you have a 45 CV off set gob already, then you could just go for that. It just all depends on the context and what the worst artifact for that character is. If your gob is doodoo even though it’s already an off piece, then sure absolutely go for an on piece gob and test your luck, but if your time piece, or your circlet is the weakest link, and you already have a pretty good off set gob (42-45+ CV) then there’s no reason to keep gambling for an on set gob when it’s really realistically not gonna do much for your character, if anything it might downgrade your character if you try to force a mid on set goblet onto the character and trying to make that work.
i do you one better. Bu the time you got enough artifacts with this system to roll a decent one. Genshin 2 will probably be launched and half way through the whole story.

Just use offset, never in my life i have problems with goblets. Crit dmg/rate head is more important. Always just use offset for goblet/head if you have any problems with finding any of it. And in 4 years i never farm art domains more than few weeks before getting full set that had mid stats and still dealing tons of dmg. People make big deal of artifacts, while the real problem is that they are just bad at understanding the game.
Considering the number of resources required to make a single Sanctifying Elixir, they should have allowed for an unlimited number to be extracted. Gating them to one per patch is a complete joke, as it allows for a single, negligible goblet (likely with bad sub-stat rolls) to be crafted once every six months.

1:26 those are obnoxious elixir costs especially with the level of gatekeeping Hoyoverse has put on the system. There should at least be an option where, say, I only want a Goblet with main stat EM, but don’t care about the substats - I should be able to craft said Goblet with less elixir cost. Having to collect & spend 4 elixirs if I only want main stat EM Goblet is just too heavy and time-consuming.
It's a little disengenous to say that 4 artifact crafting can replace 4 years of resin since you're not farming those pieces sequentially. In the year of farming it takes on average to find a double crit hydro goblet, you're also likely to find several other double crit damage goblets for other elements naturally. The 4 year math only works if you want 4 hydro damage goblets, which I think is less common than wanting damage goblets of other elements. The math also neglects the relevance of other valuable substats. I'm perfectly happy with a single crit substat if the other substats are a good combo of ER, EM, and Atk% (or whatever main stat), which makes it more common to find good pieces while farming and therefore less valuable to craft them. Overall I think the crafting system is great, but the rate of getting elixers is way way way too low. I think they could easily be 5-10 times more common. Especially with IT making it so that you're expected to build so many more characters.
I legit thought this crafting system was introduced due to the latest endgame mode (the imaginarium or whatever it was called) as a way to encourage players, especially newer ones. To catch up and be able to play the mode. But the rate of which you acquire the elixirs is so slow it doesn't make sense to me.

But if I think of it from that point of view (a system to help with the abyss struggle with pieces). then with the new reset time of the abyss I could see why would such a system be so scarce. But then again it does feel unnecessarily slow. a similar rate to the crowns would make more sense to me, at least that's my opinion.
Surprised that there were people angry since they were the sort to farm artifacts for perfect stats since this mechanic takes forever to farm anyway. Might as well just keep farming artifacts lol. But if they are mad enough then maybe Hoyo will drop some good stuff for everyone.
Lol, I have some pretty good EM main stat artifacts, but none of them are from the same set so I can't even meet the 2-piece set bonus. My Venti is always either on mixed artifacts with no set bonus or mid-tier 4-star VV set.

Isn't it only 2 goblets in a year? You can get 1x elixir per patch (42 days). So, 4x elixirs (= 1 goblet) takes 168 days, 8 elixirs (= 2 goblets) takes 336 days. Unless I'm missing something. Honestly, considering the amount of resources it takes to use the Transmuter, I feel like a good use for it would be to quickly bandaid any builds you're currently working on. Like it's a side hustle for artifacts and not the main source of them.
13:16, I already 100% Natlan this patch, let me share something that may be helpful (I will use the term SE: Sanctifying Elixir). 1. You can get 1 SE every 10 levels for leveling Tome in Natlan with Pyro sigils (total 50 levels, but the current patch max only level 20). 2. You can get 1 SE when opening each tribe's secret treasure (need a key made out of 3 pieces item from the chest when exploring Natlan, in the current patch there are 3 tribes, and there are 3 more to introduce). 3. Obviously, you get 1 from the 40 days/2 patch game. So, in the current patch, we can get 6 SE. Now, for what piece you choose, let me share some advice and experience, (especially if you're a new player, even if you're an end-game player but don't have a good piece): 1. Goblet: Focus on elemental DMG for your main DPS, there are 2 conditions: 1). If you already have a good goblet - from the right set or from another set - I recommend you don't use SE (I think it worth 2 timepieces). But 2). If you don't have a good goblet, it is worth it to choose a goblet (since you can save about 14k elixir). 2. Timepiece: Focus on either your main DPS or sub-DPS, there are 2 that are worth considering: ER & EM since their drop percentage is low. 1). ER (mainly for Sub-DPS), I think crit rate & dmg are worth it for many sub-DPS. 2). EM, is usually used for Dendro reaction and can be used by both main DPS or sub-DPS. But, you may watch carefully to choose substat a). Crit rate & damage or b). ER/ATK%/HP%, the decision back to your character. For ATK%, HP%, and DEF%, I think it's not worth it since you can get them in weeks and you can get them from the crafting bench. I don't recommend you spend resin on domains that don't have benefits for many characters, I think some domains are resin efficient, for example in Inazuma (Emblem & Shimenawa), Sumeru (Gilded & Deepwood), Fontaine (Mare & Golden Troupe), and new in Natlan. 3. Circlet, I really don't recommend this because it costs 3 SE, you select either crit rate or crit damage as your substat and vice versa for the main stat while the other stat is either ATK%/ER/EM/HP% (for EM main stat and 2 crit stat already explained in the video and only use in very specific things so also don't recommend). 4. (add) For specific characters like Kazuha or Sucrose that need EM in Timepiece, Goblet, and Circlet, you may consider it since the domain is not resin efficient and very gambling from the crafting bench (unless you're lucky like me XD). But, I recommend using it for something else (because you only need 4 pieces for the artifacts stat) 5. Finally, I advise you to 1). If you're a new player, just enjoy the story and the exploration, don't get rushed on artifacts; 2). If you're an end-game player, please wait for the right time, I mean you only get 1 SE in 40 days, meanwhile, in 40 days you can get around 400 5-star artifacts (5 domains/day) that may drop the piece you want. I personally will save it for later, because maybe in the future there will be some really useful characters, and if the artifact set is not resin efficient, then I will use it. Lastly, it's just a game bro, enjoy other activities, you get nothing when rush (especially when the roll is not crit >:D). Thank you :))

The System had one purpose: Marketing. Make a shiny new system, that everybody wants, so that it get hiped and every TH-camr makes a video about it. But screw it up, like nearly every QoL feature, so that nobody gets an advantage/improvement out of it.

I've already used this feature to create a feather (as an experimental test) for Emilie. And guess what? At level 0, I got HP% as the third stat, and then I got flat defense as the fourth stat by raising it to level 4... But it doesn't end there. In the end, after raising it to level 20, it ended up with a crit rate role, a crit dmg role, and 3 flat def roles. So yes, it's very disappointing the new feature, so don't get your hopes up too much even if you plan to save quite a few bottles.
@@MrGoodra17 Yeah, but even if on paper sounds good for all the time it saves (at least, from the IWtL calculations), even if you save like an entire year of resin, it can be wasted by a bad roles when upgrading. So yeah, still not a good/efficient way to improve your current builds. I think is better to use relicary function than destroying a lot of artifacts to get one bottle per month.

Everyone knows how that feel to get a good piece just to roll all in flat def ,remember everyone also has good piece with god tier rolls too. I started to play in 1/1/2024 which mean its only 9months for me. I got great Dendro, Cryo, Geo and Anemo goblets but none Pyro, Hydro and i still think Electro goblets doesnt exist . My DPS are Neuvillette, Arlec and Clorinde which mean all the good goblets are useless (for now). This system literally allow me to complete the other 3 goblets i need. When that happens, i dont need to farm goblet anymore. Im sure old players have at least a dozen of good pieces, they just need to fill out sub DPS
@@CrisProGameZelda For mine I actually fed it potentially good artifacts screwed by rng so I didn't lose that much, plus there are and will most likely be more ways to obtain elixirs. So it's only bad at first glance imo and I still prefer this to the hsr one where it's only really useful for support pieces, like speed boots or cd bodies.
@@MrGoodra17 Just consider that even if you get 16 bottles for free, there's another restriction that allows you to create just one piece of every artifact set per version (6 weeks). So even if you can create 4 goblets, those should be from different artifacts sets unless you wait patiently 6 weeks to bring one by one of the same artifact set. That means you have to wait at least 6 months to get 4 pieces of one artifact set, and even with double crit subs, still is highly probably to role on mediocre subs at the end. So, not really a good improvement from the current grind tbh.
It's better than not having it all, but I think the system could be a lot better. Some ideas that I think would be better: Goblets cost 3 elixir 2 elixir in free BP, 2 in paid 3 Obtainable through gameplay per patch Have events sometimes give them 4 Stats by default or let us use an elixir on any artifact to guarantee a boost to a stat (which would still be costly with up to 5 per artifact which honestly I don't think would be broken especially if they keep similar rates of obtaining them) Another thing they could do is have us use an elixir to change the main stat of an artifact which would make those double crit healing bonus circlets feel better.
Good video! I'd add that for characters who want to maximize EM, besides kazuha and nahida, theres sucrose who shares 20% of her EM with the team, and also characters who can act as hyperbloom/burgeon triggers on teams where you build that specifically. So kuki, raiden, thoma are all good to stack EM on specific comps. Theres possibly other characters too who I'm just not familiar with enough to say, like heizou, cyno, sayu, alhaitam

this is pure insanity. We get absolutely scarce rare resource which is elixir and still we need to grind a ridiculous amount of time to use that which doesn't make any sense. It is just to make the game to be hard for a sake of being hard.

I personally think all artifacts should start out to cost one sanctifying elixir. With the option to choose if you want to focus substats which would increase the cost to two. HSR has this already and it only cost one for every relic you could get.

@@thorn_again I think it does change the chart I'm just not sure how. All the main stat percentages on the left have add up to 100%. So if you add another stat roll; one or some or all the others % chance have to go down until it equals 100%
To clarify, the areas in Natlan where you can collect a Sanctifying Elixir for free all require you to collect three colored obsidian fragments to assemble a tribal bracelet (currently Yellow, Green, and Azure). Once assembled you can enter each tribe's Secret Space there will be a Sanctifying Elixir and five golden artifacts of both new sets. It's safe to say that more will be available in later patches

@WastedTalent83 yeah i have so many double cr crdmg sub stats, but the hardest part is actually got them increased, not getting them. almost 4 years of playing, and i only have two goblet that have 14%crit rate, 14% crit damage. That is why I resort to just single good value, like 16% crit rate, or 32% crit damage for the rest

@@WastedTalent83 Nah, these obviously should be used on goblets or in some rare cases, sands. Getting double crit pieces alone the usual way is too much trouble and rng still. Getting a guaranteed on set elemental goblet with double crit is already a massive improvement that removes a layer of rng from the game. It may not roll how you want it to roll in the end, but couple of rolls into crit (which is not particularly unlikely) and you're likely to get an upgrade. Removing the cap per patch would be absolutely godsend while farming the new artifact domain.
you get 3 more elixirs overworld but they're extremely cumbersome to collect basically run around and open every single precious and luxurious chests to randomly obtain 3 ring fragments for each tribe then you can craft them into the rings to unlock special rooms inside/near the tribes
@@cherish_xo well yeah you can do that, but it will take a long time if youre not actively opening every single chest in the region, i got most of the places to 75-80% completion before getting the elixirs, and as far as i know they aren't time gated
The chances for double crit dmg goblets is already cringe. i probably have like two good ones, the rest just have one crit and atk%. This makes is actually possible to guarantee those substats. The rest is up to rng. And besides, at that point, your other pieces should be amazing enough to not matter...
Note for newer players: I wouldnt recommend decide whichever one to craft just based on the resin/elixer. Since we only need 4-set and can have 1 off-set, people usually take the hardest one to find, i.e. double crit elemental dmg goblet as off-set (which is much more likely to obtain a good one across ALL sets). So if you want to push to the extreme of your character, sure you can pick double crit elemental dmg goblet, but for newer players that need more characters to be built as usable, crafting on-set circlet or timepiece could also be suitable. For me personally, my c2 nahida, I would use an offset EM+double crit Dendro goblet, and craft an onset double crit EM time piece (which takes FOREVER to get). The rest: flower (EM+double crit), feather (EM+double crit), and crit damage circlet (with EM+CR) are fairly easier to obtain onset by looking at the expectation runs.

its important to notice that, bc you can have one off-piece, picking goblet isnt always the best choice at all. Say you have good on piece flower, feather, and circlet. You're lacking good options on ur timepiece and goblet as far as on piece go (typically, you'll have a kinda bad timepiece and awful goblet). However, lets say you have very good off pieces for both goblet and timepiece (which is a very common situation in my experience). In this situation, you could just create a good timepiece with the artifact transmuter, and use an off piece goblet. It might be just as good as transmuting a goblet and using an off piece sands. ==> The main advantage in this scenario is that your timepiece would cost you half the elixir that the goblet is costing you. If we didnt have offpieces (like in hsr for example), then yes, picking goblet almost everytime would be correct. But not in genshin !
Another piece of advice on using the Sanctifying Elixirs: don't use them on a set you haven't farmed for at least 2 months, because after 2 months, you begin seeing dimishing returns for most artifact sets The odds of getting a double crit goblet (or anything else) is the same throughout the whole process, so you should wait until you've gotten all of your other pieces before getting the one you need from the Elixir. If after 2 months you don't gave a good goblet, then use the elixir.

I’d assume you play HSR, now picture the self modeling resin of the 2-4 we get PER PATCH, 40 days as well. selectors in HSR is also super limited and will average out for a player getting one good relic because these things are never guaranteed and always has been limited…

@@papiertoilette-pb9lf HSR has the clock things available in permanent methods, and you don't NEED them to make relics. You can make as many as you want, they just personalize the main stat. Genshin limits the amount you can make so much, for NO reason! If that clock is the only way you can use those dead relics, people would complain in HSR too! But it's not limited. But both have bad systems to be honest.
Honestly I think the mere fact that off-pieces exist scews the math. Like, I could have two chances for a perfect sands instead of going for one perfect goblet, and just use the goblet as the off piece. And since one still needs to win against the RNG when upgrading the artifact, it might potentially be more "worth it" to go for more pieces to highten the chances you get a good artifact, and just take the goblet off-piece.
I find it funny how these people are crying over an improvement 😂, meta slaves, just run decent artifacts heck it can be 50 crit rate and 160 crit dmg with a crit weapon and it can work well. As long as you have a good team comp with good talent levels you can easily 36 star abyss. Just takes time.
As a long time player with some 30-40cv elemental goblets, I will only use this item for two things: - Sands for older characters whose crit ratio I want to adjust, which cost only 2 elixir - Feather or flower of the new set for newer Natlan chars if I want to make them perform well quickly. Personally hoping that Mavuika will be Pyro off fielder and now I am farming her sub DPS set. I will only craft the double crit pieces when she is out, so I can consider which piece I should craft. If the remaining piece I haven't got is feather and I already got 30 cv sands and at least 20 cv substat circlet, then so be it, Imma craft double crit feather. It costs 1 elixir anyway As for circlet, you can only get 1 crit substat since 1 is already on mainstat, so it's easier to screw up upon level up. The risk is too high for 3 elixir, unless it's for characters that use set that gives lots of crit rate like MH, Blizzard strayer or Natlan new DPS set. I've got 30-40 cv goblets on each element, so I won't risk 4 elixir just to get 20 cv double crit goblets lol
I'm probably just going to hoard them like I did with crowns for a while. I'm now down to 3 or so crowns but I had a bunch just sitting around until recently. I see myself just holding the elixers until I have 20+ My goblets are crap but I still want to hold out... Still only got 2 pyro goblets with any crit on my entire account (1 isn't even double crit and is on my Yoimiya). I agree with the sands part. Makes a lot of sense vs. circlets.

Agreed. Genshin's stat system and grind are the worst part of the game and the reason why I only log in to do new Main Story quests nowadays, with my old characters.
At least In wuwa you can swap echoes and weapons in TOA. With only 3 characters per team. Making it way easier to build teams. Genshins new end game req 18 characters lvl 70 and all of them need their own weapon and artifacts. What a joke. Even though I can clear it and 36 star abyss it's still a dog end game system.
The table with the resin costs is nice, but it doesn't actually take into account several things. First, you need 4 items to get a set bonus, but you have 5 artifact slots. So you don't actually need to farm a goblet from an actual set, you can just use any old gladiator for that. Second thing it doesn't take into account is how many characters actually need that specific type of artifact. There aren't many characters in game that need elemental mastery goblet or healing power circlet. So these are really hard to drop, but with so few characters needing them you'll probably get enough of them just by farming other artefacts. And the same is true for specific goblet with specific element. Yes, almost all characters use an elemental goblet, but with 8 elements to choose from only 1/8 of that number need fire element. So in most cases, I think the circlet will probably be more of a bottleneck than elemental damage goblets, since many characters use crit rate of crit damage circlets. I think in majority of cases, it will be easier to slap a random non set goblet with fire damage on the character and use the converter to get a great circlet for 3 elixirs, than using a non set circlet and converting goblet for 4 elixirs. Try running the algorithm again, but instead of calculating the chances to drop one specific artifact piece, calculate that you have 20 characters. You want 3 fire element goblets, 3 ice element goblets..., 1 elemental mastery goblet, 1 HP goblet, 10 crit chance circlets and 8 crit damage circlets, one healing power circlet, one EM circlet etc. This is just an ad hoc example, but this will give you much closer estimate of the value for the converter. Unless of course you want to play the whole Genshin game with just one character. The best way to use the converter is probably just to get what you actually need, not whatever is harder to drop percentage wise.

lol I've been playing for 1 year and a half. 205 resin/day times 547 days = ~112000 resin = 5,600 runs. All this shit and I don't have a single double crit dendro, electro, pyro, hydro, or anemo goblet.

I'm gonna use it for my sand. Goblet are usually off piece anyway so in my experience sands is the hardest piece to get. Plus its cost is half than a goblet.

Using it on goblets is borderline crazy, I believe (unless you're a battle pass user). Just use it to complete the rest of the set and off piece the goblets.

People saying "It's not as bad as people make it out to be" is just sad, they are so used to gobble the slop that hoyo throws at them that they don't realize the company doesn't respect your time, they expect you to play for months to craft 2 or 3 artifacts. They should get rid of the one elixir per patch cap because you can only use the transmuter so many times before you run out of resources , resin is limited and you can craft one artifact per set each patch anyways.
Sure it can be better, but your argument is harsher than it should. This is a incredible system, just need some adjustments. One single change in the time limit, or just put the item on the starglitter/stardust store, or just give it more often etc etc. All of this really easy to adjust. We cant ignore that now we can cut a huge part of the rng tied to artifacts. We just need more of it.

You can get 6 from exploration, if its any indication, every single tribe has special fragments which you can get 3 of. you can craft 3 of these fragments into a key to enter a special room that has 10 5 star artifacts and 1 sanctifying elixir. I just got 2 from these rooms (hydro and geo tribe), and currently trying to get the dendro tribe's elixir next. Not sure what the 1 elixir you're referring to is, but its definitely more than that as of this patch

i don't think it is efficient to spend the elixers on the goblets because u need 4 elixers... u can always use off piece on the goblet.... instead it is better to use the elixers on on-piece sands or circlet depending on which one u need more...
But you simply get more attack or whatever sends. Geting a good off piece attack sands is simply easier. You might think differently because you are too used to thr idea that goblet is the offpiece but it's just math. The whole reason goblet is the designated offpiece is because you have a harder time geting a good one.

@bencegergohocz5988 it's probably dependent on how filled out your relics are on your account. For me, I have loads of goblets I've already saved that are god roll off-pieces. So it's just quicker (usually) and easier to farm either a great circlet or a great sands and just craft the other one. The stats on the whole for both would be very similar and the cost would be less.

I got my first goblet already, the pyro one I have been chasing for over a year now, and thankfully it rolled pretty well (42 cv with attack%) so I can now focus on some other pieces that have been dodging me for a while now once I get more of the tokens. I am thinking an EM sands for my Haitham, assuming I don't get one directly from the domain at some point. Glhf out there and may all your artis from this crafter roll well!
I wish that the sanctifying elixir will be given as a reward for major events and shop reset and bp pass the free one. Like seriously 1 for a whole patch?. I can't even get the one from bp without unlocking the premium one unlike in hsr. sure sanctifying elixir gives the sub stat as well but still.
Can't believe that these cc are defending this trash mechanics with some bs calculation that doesn't work like that. Artifacts are based on probability and saying a person requires 2000 plus resin to get guaranteed goblet piece with desired states is just blatant lie and people are buying that. In probability u cant give a solid value unless there is a catch just like the banners.
Literally doesn't matter that much. An ATK% goblet (or whatever main stat you need) with amazing sub stat rolls can be pretty competitive with a dmg goblet with mediocre sub stats. It's like a 5% difference.

I see one issue with the math. It ignores the ability to use an offset piece, and specifically, the impact this has on demand. A Def% sands, for example, is likely to have a lower value than an atk% sands, simply because you'll probably have a good off-piece laying around because it dropped while you were farming for other characters. Goblets have the same issue... 8 damage types, so you probably have a lot of offset choices. Meanwhile, crit circlets are high in demand, because most five stars are DPS characters that want crit. So while crit with crit substat and ER/char-stat might be more common than a specific goblet, the demand for any good crit circlet is also higher. There's also another important thing for people to consider: domain value. Picking up a Glow piece will likely have more value than a Hunters/Troupe one, especially for a newer player. This is because the latter come from a high value domain, and, not only that, one that has different characters wanting different stats on the sands/goblet/circlet. So you can farm a ton there. Meanwhile, Glow is a set a single character might be interested in, with the other being pretty meh except maybe for Childe? This is a domain that is horribly resin inefficient. Anyway, overall, probably best to save these until you run into an issue where the sands/goblet/circlet you need just refuses to drop for a character you really care about.
1. Resin estimations are estimations for expected amount spent and elixirs may actually save you from going grave before you see a single CryoDoubleCrit. 2. Goblet is almost always off-set for reasons. Nobody farms those. 3. There is no guarantee artifact will roll any good with remaining two stats. 4. There will be at least 9 new characters that require good artifact during this year. Re-use is heavily countered by releasing new 'optimal' sets and artifact management pain (real artifact presets when?) -- In the end good luck still triumphs. It just bad luck becomes not as painful. Keep praying.

@@_mako Its clearly easier to slot a 45cv feather than a 35 CV on set goblet. If the goblet is the off set piece you will probably get something like "35CV goblet + 35 cv forth piece" If the goblet is the on set you will maybe get "28CV on set + 45 CV off set" That's more stats

It just all depends on the context and what the worst artifact for that character is. If your gob is doodoo even though it’s already an off piece, then sure absolutely go for an on piece gob and test your luck, but if your time piece, or your circlet is the weakest link, and you already have a pretty good off set gob (42-45+ CV) then there’s no reason to keep gambling for an on set gob when it’s really realistically not gonna do much for your character, if anything it might downgrade your character if you try to force a mid on set goblet onto the character and trying to make that work.

Just use offset, never in my life i have problems with goblets. Crit dmg/rate head is more important. Always just use offset for goblet/head if you have any problems with finding any of it. And in 4 years i never farm art domains more than few weeks before getting full set that had mid stats and still dealing tons of dmg. People make big deal of artifacts, while the real problem is that they are just bad at understanding the game.
Considering the number of resources required to make a single Sanctifying Elixir, they should have allowed for an unlimited number to be extracted. Gating them to one per patch is a complete joke, as it allows for a single, negligible goblet (likely with bad sub-stat rolls) to be crafted once every six months.

While IRL/RNG results are sample based and personalised, so can be not a good source of statistics (like IRL coin is not close to 50% because it depends on how you hold it and force you apply in most cases).

There should at least be an option where, say, I only want a Goblet with main stat EM, but don’t care about the substats - I should be able to craft said Goblet with less elixir cost. Having to collect & spend 4 elixirs if I only want main stat EM Goblet is just too heavy and time-consuming.

It's a little disengenous to say that 4 artifact crafting can replace 4 years of resin since you're not farming those pieces sequentially. In the year of farming it takes on average to find a double crit hydro goblet, you're also likely to find several other double crit damage goblets for other elements naturally.
The 4 year math only works if you want 4 hydro damage goblets, which I think is less common than wanting damage goblets of other elements.
The math also neglects the relevance of other valuable substats. I'm perfectly happy with a single crit substat if the other substats are a good combo of ER, EM, and Atk% (or whatever main stat), which makes it more common to find good pieces while farming and therefore less valuable to craft them.
Overall I think the crafting system is great, but the rate of getting elixers is way way way too low. I think they could easily be 5-10 times more common. Especially with IT making it so that you're expected to build so many more characters.

I legit thought this crafting system was introduced due to the latest endgame mode (the imaginarium or whatever it was called) as a way to encourage players, especially newer ones. To catch up and be able to play the mode. But the rate of which you acquire the elixirs is so slow it doesn't make sense to me.

But if I think of it from that point of view (a system to help with the abyss struggle with pieces). then with the new reset time of the abyss I could see why would such a system be so scarce. But then again it does feel unnecessarily slow. a similar rate to the crowns would make more sense to me, at least that's my opinion.

You can get 1x elixir per patch (42 days). So, 4x elixirs (= 1 goblet) takes 168 days, 8 elixirs (= 2 goblets) takes 336 days.

13:16, I already 100% Natlan this patch, let me share something that may be helpful (I will use the term SE: Sanctifying Elixir).
1. You can get 1 SE every 10 levels for leveling Tome in Natlan with Pyro sigils (total 50 levels, but the current patch max only level 20).
2. You can get 1 SE when opening each tribe's secret treasure (need a key made out of 3 pieces item from the chest when exploring Natlan, in the current patch there are 3 tribes, and there are 3 more to introduce).
3. Obviously, you get 1 from the 40 days/2 patch game.
So, in the current patch, we can get 6 SE.
Now, for what piece you choose, let me share some advice and experience, (especially if you're a new player, even if you're an end-game player but don't have a good piece):
1. Goblet: Focus on elemental DMG for your main DPS, there are 2 conditions: 1). If you already have a good goblet - from the right set or from another set - I recommend you don't use SE (I think it worth 2 timepieces). But 2). If you don't have a good goblet, it is worth it to choose a goblet (since you can save about 14k elixir).
2. Timepiece: Focus on either your main DPS or sub-DPS, there are 2 that are worth considering: ER & EM since their drop percentage is low. 1). ER (mainly for Sub-DPS), I think crit rate & dmg are worth it for many sub-DPS. 2). EM, is usually used for Dendro reaction and can be used by both main DPS or sub-DPS. But, you may watch carefully to choose substat a). Crit rate & damage or b). ER/ATK%/HP%, the decision back to your character. For ATK%, HP%, and DEF%, I think it's not worth it since you can get them in weeks and you can get them from the crafting bench. I don't recommend you spend resin on domains that don't have benefits for many characters, I think some domains are resin efficient, for example in Inazuma (Emblem & Shimenawa), Sumeru (Gilded & Deepwood), Fontaine (Mare & Golden Troupe), and new in Natlan.
3. Circlet, I really don't recommend this because it costs 3 SE, you select either crit rate or crit damage as your substat and vice versa for the main stat while the other stat is either ATK%/ER/EM/HP% (for EM main stat and 2 crit stat already explained in the video and only use in very specific things so also don't recommend).
4. (add) For specific characters like Kazuha or Sucrose that need EM in Timepiece, Goblet, and Circlet, you may consider it since the domain is not resin efficient and very gambling from the crafting bench (unless you're lucky like me XD). But, I recommend using it for something else (because you only need 4 pieces for the artifacts stat)
5. Finally, I advise you to 1). If you're a new player, just enjoy the story and the exploration, don't get rushed on artifacts; 2). If you're an end-game player, please wait for the right time, I mean you only get 1 SE in 40 days, meanwhile, in 40 days you can get around 400 5-star artifacts (5 domains/day) that may drop the piece you want. I personally will save it for later, because maybe in the future there will be some really useful characters, and if the artifact set is not resin efficient, then I will use it. Lastly, it's just a game bro, enjoy other activities, you get nothing when rush (especially when the roll is not crit >:D). Thank you :))

It only spawns in precious and luxurious chests. So prioritize those.

I've already used this feature to create a feather (as an experimental test) for Emilie. And guess what? At level 0, I got HP% as the third stat, and then I got flat defense as the fourth stat by raising it to level 4... But it doesn't end there. In the end, after raising it to level 20, it ended up with a crit rate role, a crit dmg role, and 3 flat def roles. So yes, it's very disappointing the new feature, so don't get your hopes up too much even if you plan to save quite a few bottles.

I started to play in 1/1/2024 which mean its only 9months for me. I got great Dendro, Cryo, Geo and Anemo goblets but none Pyro, Hydro and i still think Electro goblets doesnt exist . My DPS are Neuvillette, Arlec and Clorinde which mean all the good goblets are useless (for now).
This system literally allow me to complete the other 3 goblets i need. When that happens, i dont need to farm goblet anymore. Im sure old players have at least a dozen of good pieces, they just need to fill out sub DPS
@@CrisProGameZelda For mine I actually fed it potentially good artifacts screwed by rng so I didn't lose that much, plus there are and will most likely be more ways to obtain elixirs. So it's only bad at first glance imo and I still prefer this to the hsr one where it's only really useful for support pieces, like speed boots or cd bodies.
@@MrGoodra17 Just consider that even if you get 16 bottles for free, there's another restriction that allows you to create just one piece of every artifact set per version (6 weeks). So even if you can create 4 goblets, those should be from different artifacts sets unless you wait patiently 6 weeks to bring one by one of the same artifact set. That means you have to wait at least 6 months to get 4 pieces of one artifact set, and even with double crit subs, still is highly probably to role on mediocre subs at the end. So, not really a good improvement from the current grind tbh.

Some ideas that I think would be better:
Goblets cost 3 elixir
2 elixir in free BP, 2 in paid
3 Obtainable through gameplay per patch
Have events sometimes give them
4 Stats by default or let us use an elixir on any artifact to guarantee a boost to a stat (which would still be costly with up to 5 per artifact which honestly I don't think would be broken especially if they keep similar rates of obtaining them)
Another thing they could do is have us use an elixir to change the main stat of an artifact which would make those double crit healing bonus circlets feel better.

I'd add that for characters who want to maximize EM, besides kazuha and nahida, theres sucrose who shares 20% of her EM with the team, and also characters who can act as hyperbloom/burgeon triggers on teams where you build that specifically. So kuki, raiden, thoma are all good to stack EM on specific comps.
Theres possibly other characters too who I'm just not familiar with enough to say, like heizou, cyno, sayu, alhaitam

To clarify, the areas in Natlan where you can collect a Sanctifying Elixir for free all require you to collect three colored obsidian fragments to assemble a tribal bracelet (currently Yellow, Green, and Azure). Once assembled you can enter each tribe's Secret Space there will be a Sanctifying Elixir and five golden artifacts of both new sets.
It's safe to say that more will be available in later patches
that changes nothing.

@@WastedTalent83 Nah, these obviously should be used on goblets or in some rare cases, sands. Getting double crit pieces alone the usual way is too much trouble and rng still. Getting a guaranteed on set elemental goblet with double crit is already a massive improvement that removes a layer of rng from the game. It may not roll how you want it to roll in the end, but couple of rolls into crit (which is not particularly unlikely) and you're likely to get an upgrade. Removing the cap per patch would be absolutely godsend while farming the new artifact domain.

Note for newer players: I wouldnt recommend decide whichever one to craft just based on the resin/elixer. Since we only need 4-set and can have 1 off-set, people usually take the hardest one to find, i.e. double crit elemental dmg goblet as off-set (which is much more likely to obtain a good one across ALL sets).
So if you want to push to the extreme of your character, sure you can pick double crit elemental dmg goblet, but for newer players that need more characters to be built as usable, crafting on-set circlet or timepiece could also be suitable.
For me personally, my c2 nahida, I would use an offset EM+double crit Dendro goblet, and craft an onset double crit EM time piece (which takes FOREVER to get). The rest: flower (EM+double crit), feather (EM+double crit), and crit damage circlet (with EM+CR) are fairly easier to obtain onset by looking at the expectation runs.

its important to notice that, bc you can have one off-piece, picking goblet isnt always the best choice at all.
Say you have good on piece flower, feather, and circlet. You're lacking good options on ur timepiece and goblet as far as on piece go (typically, you'll have a kinda bad timepiece and awful goblet).
However, lets say you have very good off pieces for both goblet and timepiece (which is a very common situation in my experience).
In this situation, you could just create a good timepiece with the artifact transmuter, and use an off piece goblet. It might be just as good as transmuting a goblet and using an off piece sands.
==> The main advantage in this scenario is that your timepiece would cost you half the elixir that the goblet is costing you.
If we didnt have offpieces (like in hsr for example), then yes, picking goblet almost everytime would be correct. But not in genshin !

Another piece of advice on using the Sanctifying Elixirs: don't use them on a set you haven't farmed for at least 2 months, because after 2 months, you begin seeing dimishing returns for most artifact sets The odds of getting a double crit goblet (or anything else) is the same throughout the whole process, so you should wait until you've gotten all of your other pieces before getting the one you need from the Elixir. If after 2 months you don't gave a good goblet, then use the elixir.
What do the 2 months matter? Just get the cup once you have everything else, save the elixir when you don't

I’d assume you play HSR, now picture the self modeling resin of the 2-4 we get PER PATCH, 40 days as well. selectors in HSR is also super limited and will average out for a player getting one good relic because these things are never guaranteed and always has been limited…

@@papiertoilette-pb9lf HSR has the clock things available in permanent methods, and you don't NEED them to make relics. You can make as many as you want, they just personalize the main stat. Genshin limits the amount you can make so much, for NO reason! If that clock is the only way you can use those dead relics, people would complain in HSR too! But it's not limited. But both have bad systems to be honest.
I preffer at this time crafting time pieces because if you have played since release you have higher chances to have decent off set goblet pieces
Honestly I think the mere fact that off-pieces exist scews the math. Like, I could have two chances for a perfect sands instead of going for one perfect goblet, and just use the goblet as the off piece. And since one still needs to win against the RNG when upgrading the artifact, it might potentially be more "worth it" to go for more pieces to highten the chances you get a good artifact, and just take the goblet off-piece.

I find it funny how these people are crying over an improvement 😂, meta slaves, just run decent artifacts heck it can be 50 crit rate and 160 crit dmg with a crit weapon and it can work well. As long as you have a good team comp with good talent levels you can easily 36 star abyss. Just takes time.
As a long time player with some 30-40cv elemental goblets, I will only use this item for two things:
- Sands for older characters whose crit ratio I want to adjust, which cost only 2 elixir
- Feather or flower of the new set for newer Natlan chars if I want to make them perform well quickly. Personally hoping that Mavuika will be Pyro off fielder and now I am farming her sub DPS set. I will only craft the double crit pieces when she is out, so I can consider which piece I should craft. If the remaining piece I haven't got is feather and I already got 30 cv sands and at least 20 cv substat circlet, then so be it, Imma craft double crit feather. It costs 1 elixir anyway
As for circlet, you can only get 1 crit substat since 1 is already on mainstat, so it's easier to screw up upon level up. The risk is too high for 3 elixir, unless it's for characters that use set that gives lots of crit rate like MH, Blizzard strayer or Natlan new DPS set.
I've got 30-40 cv goblets on each element, so I won't risk 4 elixir just to get 20 cv double crit goblets lol

At least In wuwa you can swap echoes and weapons in TOA. With only 3 characters per team. Making it way easier to build teams. Genshins new end game req 18 characters lvl 70 and all of them need their own weapon and artifacts. What a joke. Even though I can clear it and 36 star abyss it's still a dog end game system.
The table with the resin costs is nice, but it doesn't actually take into account several things. First, you need 4 items to get a set bonus, but you have 5 artifact slots. So you don't actually need to farm a goblet from an actual set, you can just use any old gladiator for that. Second thing it doesn't take into account is how many characters actually need that specific type of artifact. There aren't many characters in game that need elemental mastery goblet or healing power circlet. So these are really hard to drop, but with so few characters needing them you'll probably get enough of them just by farming other artefacts. And the same is true for specific goblet with specific element. Yes, almost all characters use an elemental goblet, but with 8 elements to choose from only 1/8 of that number need fire element. So in most cases, I think the circlet will probably be more of a bottleneck than elemental damage goblets, since many characters use crit rate of crit damage circlets. I think in majority of cases, it will be easier to slap a random non set goblet with fire damage on the character and use the converter to get a great circlet for 3 elixirs, than using a non set circlet and converting goblet for 4 elixirs.
Try running the algorithm again, but instead of calculating the chances to drop one specific artifact piece, calculate that you have 20 characters. You want 3 fire element goblets, 3 ice element goblets..., 1 elemental mastery goblet, 1 HP goblet, 10 crit chance circlets and 8 crit damage circlets, one healing power circlet, one EM circlet etc. This is just an ad hoc example, but this will give you much closer estimate of the value for the converter. Unless of course you want to play the whole Genshin game with just one character.
The best way to use the converter is probably just to get what you actually need, not whatever is harder to drop percentage wise.

Saving my elixirs for now. The system is not supposed to replace farming…just make it a bit easier to get very specific artifacts sometimes. I’m fine with it 😊
I'm gonna use it for my sand. Goblet are usually off piece anyway so in my experience sands is the hardest piece to get.
Plus its cost is half than a goblet.

People saying "It's not as bad as people make it out to be" is just sad, they are so used to gobble the slop that hoyo throws at them that they don't realize the company doesn't respect your time, they expect you to play for months to craft 2 or 3 artifacts.
They should get rid of the one elixir per patch cap because you can only use the transmuter so many times before you run out of resources , resin is limited and you can craft one artifact per set each patch anyways.

All of this really easy to adjust. We cant ignore that now we can cut a huge part of the rng tied to artifacts. We just need more of it.

You can get 6 from exploration, if its any indication, every single tribe has special fragments which you can get 3 of. you can craft 3 of these fragments into a key to enter a special room that has 10 5 star artifacts and 1 sanctifying elixir. I just got 2 from these rooms (hydro and geo tribe), and currently trying to get the dendro tribe's elixir next. Not sure what the 1 elixir you're referring to is, but its definitely more than that as of this patch

@@glovs4188 it still let's you chose the main stats the ability to have an on set double crit elemental goblet takes around 60,000 resin to actually get and that's assuming you luck is terrible the artifact selector saves you tens of thousands of resin and will allow players to spend less time in domains id rather be able to get artifact farming done faster BUT THATS JUST ME THO

i don't think it is efficient to spend the elixers on the goblets because u need 4 elixers... u can always use off piece on the goblet....
instead it is better to use the elixers on on-piece sands or circlet depending on which one u need more...

100% this, a sands only costs 2 which is genuinely massive since I already have good off piece goblets I can use.
But you simply get more attack or whatever sends. Geting a good off piece attack sands is simply easier.
You might think differently because you are too used to thr idea that goblet is the offpiece but it's just math.
The whole reason goblet is the designated offpiece is because you have a harder time geting a good one.

@bencegergohocz5988 it's probably dependent on how filled out your relics are on your account. For me, I have loads of goblets I've already saved that are god roll off-pieces. So it's just quicker (usually) and easier to farm either a great circlet or a great sands and just craft the other one. The stats on the whole for both would be very similar and the cost would be less.
My counter-argument to goblets is that you can generally afford to go off-set with them.
that doesn't change the fact that this system is still utter garbage and insulting.

The truth about this feature is that I once again got my excitement for a nice quality of life update smashed into oblivion by an unnecessarily restrictive and controlling design.

I got my first goblet already, the pyro one I have been chasing for over a year now, and thankfully it rolled pretty well (42 cv with attack%) so I can now focus on some other pieces that have been dodging me for a while now once I get more of the tokens. I am thinking an EM sands for my Haitham, assuming I don't get one directly from the domain at some point. Glhf out there and may all your artis from this crafter roll well!
I wish that the sanctifying elixir will be given as a reward for major events and shop reset and bp pass the free one. Like seriously 1 for a whole patch?. I can't even get the one from bp without unlocking the premium one unlike in hsr. sure sanctifying elixir gives the sub stat as well but still.

Artifacts are based on probability and saying a person requires 2000 plus resin to get guaranteed goblet piece with desired states is just blatant lie and people are buying that. In probability u cant give a solid value unless there is a catch just like the banners.

Literally doesn't matter that much. An ATK% goblet (or whatever main stat you need) with amazing sub stat rolls can be pretty competitive with a dmg goblet with mediocre sub stats. It's like a 5% difference.

The playerbase has such insane stockholme syndrome that getting this transmuter people are singing Hoyoverse’s praises lol like sure it’s great and we get a chance but I would rather see more player friendly QOL fixes like guaranteed 4 5 star artifacts a run or allowing us to restrict a sub stat when upgrading so it won’t upgrade that stat
I see one issue with the math. It ignores the ability to use an offset piece, and specifically, the impact this has on demand. A Def% sands, for example, is likely to have a lower value than an atk% sands, simply because you'll probably have a good off-piece laying around because it dropped while you were farming for other characters. Goblets have the same issue... 8 damage types, so you probably have a lot of offset choices. Meanwhile, crit circlets are high in demand, because most five stars are DPS characters that want crit. So while crit with crit substat and ER/char-stat might be more common than a specific goblet, the demand for any good crit circlet is also higher.
There's also another important thing for people to consider: domain value. Picking up a Glow piece will likely have more value than a Hunters/Troupe one, especially for a newer player. This is because the latter come from a high value domain, and, not only that, one that has different characters wanting different stats on the sands/goblet/circlet. So you can farm a ton there. Meanwhile, Glow is a set a single character might be interested in, with the other being pretty meh except maybe for Childe? This is a domain that is horribly resin inefficient.
Anyway, overall, probably best to save these until you run into an issue where the sands/goblet/circlet you need just refuses to drop for a character you really care about.
1. Resin estimations are estimations for expected amount spent and elixirs may actually save you from going grave before you see a single CryoDoubleCrit.
2. Goblet is almost always off-set for reasons. Nobody farms those.
3. There is no guarantee artifact will roll any good with remaining two stats.
4. There will be at least 9 new characters that require good artifact during this year. Re-use is heavily countered by releasing new 'optimal' sets and artifact management pain (real artifact presets when?)

I would never craft a goblet. Goblets are likely always your “off piece” and I’ve you’ve collected many good ones over the years.
is it just me who finds it absolutely hideous, that it costs 4 of those to make one "MAYBE" good goblet? still have to get lucky tha it rolls into the crit stats when leveling up.
Probably the most efficient way to spend them is to craft timepieces and grab a goblet with double CRIT substats from another set.
It would be cool to see what's the best artifact per character to create. I'm sure it would depend on what set the player is using for effect but A BiS showcase would be fun to watch and informative for newer players still building their teams.
