- West Garfield Park on the West Side of Chicago, Illinois, is one of 77 officially designated Chicago community areas. It is directly west of Garfield Park.
The boundaries of West Garfield Park are NORTH: W. Kinzie St. EAST: Hamlin Blvd/ S. Independence Blvd. SOUTH: W. Taylor St. from S. Independence Blvd to S. Kildare Ave., S. Kildare Ave. from W. Taylor St. to W. 5th Ave, W. 5th Ave. from S. Kildare Ave. to S. Kolmar Ave. WEST: S. Kolmar Ave from W. 5th Ave. to W. Jackson Blvd., W. Jackson Blvd. from S. Kolmar Ave. to S. Kenton Ave., S. Kenton Ave. from W. Jackson Blvd. to W. Madison St., W. Madison St. from S. Kenton Ave. to N. Kenton Ave., N. Kenton Ave. to W. Kinzie St.
another one of my old nieghborhoods. where you start out, crossing wilcox on pulaski, is where i got off the bus everyday coming home from work and head east toward hamlin.
it was a rougher time i still have nostalgia for.

Wow. Thank you very much for taking me down memory lane, congress and kilbourn has changed a lot apparently in the past 12 years. It used to be a very active hotspot until 2014 when 34 were indicted for drug sales. Im very glad i left that life behind. 😊 stay safe out there!

During day hours it looks normal. Probably gets bad after dark.
Actually, some parts of WGP are quite nice.
