    I recently painted our front door with Dixie Belle Vintage Duck Egg and it is beautiful. We have comments from people who want to know about using Dixie Belle Paints. I melt every time I walk to our door...it is gorgeous!

    If you will put Vaseline around the top of the jar after you open it, it won’t stick and you can open the jar with no problem!

      Thanks Teresa :) I'm really happy with how these turned out. I didn't want anything drastic, just something to highlight an soften the look. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a GREAT weekend! HUGS :)

    Thanks for the video! Were it a year ago, prior to doing my wall unit (similarly styled to your pieces), would've attempted this look. Love the subtlety. Can see where one might feel the need to keep tweaking...and tweaking. LOL Who'd've thought, when you were sharing thrift store finds from the DR table of your previous house, or biding time while packed into the townhouse and awaiting new-home construction, that this is what you'd be doing today? Exciting new chapter.

    Thank you so much I have seen this blending in the center of drawers every where but I did not understand how it was done I even looked on the DB site and couldn’t find any specific tutorials this looks great 😍

    Hi Amy,
    Nice to see you again,
    Love your new project,
    Have been following you
    Way back from your house move,
    Keep the videos coming thank you,
    Still waiting for a refashion :)

      Thanks Kim :) I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Painting is so fun and relaxing for me. I will do some refashioning again soon, I promise. Its hard to get back into it when I get some pretty nasty trolls on my sewing projects that just write hurtful comments that I have to delete and it really hits my confidence when it comes to sewing lately. I really appreciate your support and kindness :) I hope you enjoy your weekend ! HUGS :)

    If my little jars won't open, I just take my paint can opener or screw driver and gently pry slightly in a spot or two under the lid. Usually opens then with no problem.

    Hi thanks for the videos! Regarding blending colors...can you apply Dixie Belle paint (and blend with more) after "finishing" with Hemp oil (or clear coat or polycrylic) if the piece looks too flat? Thanks!

    Not sure how to spell it... but what are the "fifo bottles" you referred to?

    • @AjsVintageDesigns
      @AjsVintageDesigns  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fifo: Stands for First In First Out bottles. They are normally used as restaurant condiment bottles, but furniture painters like them for storing and dispensing their paint as well. You can find them on Amazon.

    Where do you get your plastic paint storage bottles at?

    When you did the sides of the drawers do you top coat them and if so how many coats?

    • @AjsVintageDesigns
      @AjsVintageDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When painting the sides of drawers, it depends on how tightly the drawers fit when sliding them in and out, I usually do 2 coats of a clear coat on it. If they fit snug and rub at all, then I either don't paint them at all (and just apply Dixie Belle Big Mama's Butta to help them slide easier... if I paint and its a tight fit I also use the butta just on the drawer sides to seal them paint and allow for gliding easily as well). Hope that answers your question :) HUGS

    What paint brand and color or color mix did you use for the inside?

  • @jafallica

    Amy, do you know if these are Ethan Allen tables? I was lucky to pick up a beautiful pair just like these tables for just $25! I am going to follow your instructions to try to get the same look as yours. Wish me luck ❤️

    • @AjsVintageDesigns
      @AjsVintageDesigns  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't remember the brands of these. I did this project last year and they sold immediately after listing them. I wish I could remember the brand. If you got Ethan Allen for $25 ....you scored !!! If you have any questions when you're doing this, feel free to message me on my facebook channel ( facebook.com/ajsvintagedesigns ) and I can respond a lot quicker. I get so many TH-cam comments each day across all my videos, its hard to respond in a timely manner usually. Thanks again and good luck :) HUGS !!
