Can’t even lie. This DAW is absolutely amazing. Has everything you need plus more. The vocal strip is legendary. Simple to use and everything about this program is user friendly. Huge applaud for cakewalk!
I always wondered what Goofy ended up doing after retiring from acting in Disney films. I'm glad that he is doing great work and making it easy for us to learn Cakewalk. Thanks for being a good sport with a light roast. I love your videos!
It wasn't always free. It was once called Sonar, and Cakewalk was the company that made it. When its parent company Gibson went under in 2018, a company called BandLab rescued the product, renamed it to Cakewalk, and released it free of charge.
@DestruccionH Cakewalk / Sonar was actually one of the very earliest DAWs on the market many years ago . . but until recently was neglected by Gibson & fell behind . . now catching up.
Even though the narrater sounds like he just stood up from the cemetry, this guide is awesome! Awesome for people who are using all kind of different daws and are not like tied to one in particulair. Thank you very very very much. Less than 20 minutes and I was good to go. Thanks again
My computer died and I had been using the original Cakewalk Guitar Tracks which is not supported anymore and can’t be registered from a new install. Just downloaded this version last night and this tutorial is just what I needed. Thanks so much.
As a user who downloaded the Cakewalk yesterday, this is extremely helpful to me. Of course I did not even try to open Cakewalk once, but I'm sure I'm gonna watch this for several times, like once a day. Thanks a lot.
Just what I was looking for! TH-cam despite it's many flaws is still the greatest things humans ever made :) I thought one day "I want to make music", a week later I have a mini studio setup and this morning I downloaded Cakewalk and bought a synth. This evening I am watching this, so in 6-7 days time I have completed the setup and now can begin! This channel clearly going to be very useful.
It's the first time I was watching video about Cakewalk just to compare FL studio and Cubase with this one. So far, it looked like the middle ground between these two, especially the similarities of step sequencer with FL and interface build with Cubase
Good tutorial while some steps are a bit fast (and therefore unclear) for people who just opened the program for the first time. I believe that people who are familiar with DAW's love it. My first impression is that the program isn't as intuitive as it could and should be. Right from the get go it's a hassle to get it to make some sound. Then 6 minutes into the tutorial I want to make some noise with the bass guitar, just to find out that below a certain note on the piano roll it just doesn't work at all. It took a while to figure that out. I'll keep recording live instruments and align the tracks in the Fairlight page of DaVinci Resolve. This is more work, but much less frustrating.
Unfortunately, if you don't know some of the terminology, this will be very confusing. When someone says "choose the correct this or that", a person may not know what the correct setting is for what you're telling them to do. I had this problem over and over! I have to go "bare bones basic" which will include what settings to start out with, connections and then go from there. Just my feedback. Thanks
Tbh I don't use DAW. Worried about loss in sound quality. Anytime I heard a DAW sound I didn't think the sound quality was very good. Just like the sounds on this video. Also yes I am a musician but I had cakewalk on my pc for over a year then eventually uninstalled it as I just couldn't get my head around it and wasn't able to do anything. I just record each thing into my in built sequencer and the quantize it. Then play it back into movie edit program. Do this for each track. Tbh it is pretty handy as then when I do the video I have all the music on the same program. But I was told at school I would never be able to read and write as my concentration span is not very good. But I gotba separate tutor and proved them wrong. So following instruction videos are not going to help me tbh. You see the problem is I love playing synths I am only interested in making music I really need someone else to record it properly for me because my concentration span on instruction videos I lose interest within the first few seconds. Not doing it purposely but I just can't concentrate on what you are saying only for so long. It is really a learning issue I have.
So I just downloaded Cakewalk today and it seems fairly easy to use but once I got to "composing" you had a bunch of synth options that I don't see anywhere. Where did you get those synth options?
@@Jilamco also it's important to know that Cakewalk gives us some free plugins but there a lot more on the internet that you can download and expand your plugin collection
Beginner, still, after months of watching tutorials. At 1:32 dragging and dropping is so fast, hard to know where you went to find that. Trying to learn this program but frustrating when so much is assumed and sequenced action is fast even if voice seems to be at good pace. Would be great to demonstrate those steps clearly. Thanks
I record with Electric Guitar, Bass, Acoustic Guitar, Digital Drum Set, and other instruments. How do I record with those instruments? Is it possible to remove all the added apps and do manual instrument recording? That's what I need.
Hi there. I was mixing for one of my projects when I randomly wanted to try using the hidden 'Drum Replacer' plugin (I'm an idiot) on one of the tracks which in hindsight I shouldn't have. Cakewalk immediately crashed, and upon reopening, audio wouldn't play for some reason. I have absolutely no idea why. I can see the tracks are technically playing, and I can see the volume on the individual tracks but the master bus isn't responding. I've tried multiple things, plugging in/out my soundcard, rerouting tracks, etc, but the audio just wouldn't play. All I hear is a popping/crackling sound when I hit 'play' and 'pause'. Audio otherwise works for new projects, so not sure what really happened post the software crash that was triggered by the drum replacer. Not even sure if that was what caused it. Can you/anyone PLEASE advise because I'm absolutely lost for ideas?
I wish I could help you brother 🤣 for now I need your help to how to use this app cause this is my first time using this kind of software app so sorry once again , i know it feels bad 😔 when you lost your progress i can understand
