    Please note that as per IRC-37, for single carriageway (undivided), the pavement should be designed for traffic estimated based on larger of two VDF values obtained for the two directions of traffic. Please ignore the statement in my video that average of the two VDF values should be taken for undivided carriageway. sorry for this miss.

    Sir, if axle load survey load is given in Kg then Can we take Standard load in Kg and find EALF !
    As , some standard loads are not specified in KG that's why .

    • @SatishIITR
      @SatishIITR  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the VDF is a dimensionless parameter. Therefore units of load in denominator and numerator must be the same, kN or Kg.

    • @SatishIITR

      The standard axle load for a Tridem axle is 224 kN. Use this value in the fourth power law to get the VDF

    • @SatishIITR
      @SatishIITR  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Many calculations are not shown in this table. There are a total of 109 data and this is the sum of all 109 values in the last column. That is why it is finally divided by 109 to get the average VDF.

    • @SatishIITR
      @SatishIITR  ปีที่แล้ว

      VDF equation is same. You need to take standard axle load accordingly. For example, for a single axle with dual wheel on either side, the standard axle load is 80 kN. Similarly, for tandem axle with dual wheel on either side it is 148 kN. You need to calculate VDF for each axle, whatever be the number of axles.

And currently, I am working on road user’s fee revenue generation. The vehicles are going to pay for the road maintenance as per their damaging effect on the road infrastructure from Bajaj to Sino Truck. Do you think it is appropriate to propitiating the payment ratio based on their damaging effect factor is right?

    Sir, I have doubt, as we convert all commercial axle to standard axle like single axle to standard single, tandem axle load to standard tandem axle load, but after we get standard axle load for different different axle, then how we can sum their VDF
    And assume we have VDF about 2 per vehicle, but here for 2 which axle is considered for design, single axle, tandem axle, or tridem?

    • @SatishIITR
      @SatishIITR  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did not understand your point well, but let me try to explain. Each axle will cause some damage to the road.
      Take a three axle truck, for example, the VDF of its front axle is 0.5 (say) and that of the rear axle is 5.7. So the damaging effect of this truck on the road is 0.5 + 5.7 = 6.2. Now you have 112 trucks in your count. Find out the damaging effect of each truck and then overall VDF will be total damaging effect divided by 112.
      I hope it is clear now.
