Seriously should put Australia on your holiday destination, rainbow lorikeets are almost everywhere along the coast. They form flocks of thousands at night. Very entertaining parrots and a little crazy. Alot of people feed them.

I have a Goldie's Lorikeet. He is my messiest bird and high maintenance bird. Crap on the walls, floors and all over the cage. I have to wash his whole cage in hot water every few days. He eats dry and wet nectar, lots of fruits and veggies. He loves to bathe daily. He is very comical and says some words in a cute voice. Won't Buddy fly away? It looks like he is fully feathered. He is stunning.
Even my lorikeet doesn’t fly cos I teach to do not do that when he was young and now I can walk in the street without any worries and also at home he like run to me and my partner like a puppy dog when we call his name 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Honestly as a Rainbow Lorikeet owner (from Australia) all of the warnings she is giving is 100% true and it puts a massive smile on my face. Picky eaters, paintball shits and the wet willies is so true! But they have such an amazing character, the being put on their back part is a reference is how they play. Those birds are usually super noisy things. They have little mates that follow them around at times called scaly breasted lorikeets, those guys are the best birds. Super friendly and so tame
I have a rainbow lorikeet called beanie boo and soon will have another. She loves to wrestle, pounce and play with me, toys and everyone she meets. She loves all other birds too. She is very friendly, I swear they are like little tiny feathered dogs! I live in Australia so I feed her all the natural flowers they eat. She loves when wild flocks fly past she sings out to her friends to say hello. She can talk too and loves to take naps with people. She is my little angel!
We have so many of them in Australia. My dad reads the papers outside and every time I catch a glimpse of him outside he has about half a dosen wild ones just chilling on him.

I'm from Australia Sydney and I recommend u come visit since there are so many parrots everywhere! I see sulphur crested cockatoos almost every single day and rainbow lorikeets are EVERYWHERE! Ur will also see lots of galas I see them very often. The other day I met the friendliest parrot ever it was an Eastern Rosella parrot and it was not owned by anyone but it was coming up to me and being so friendly. A few years ago I went to Merimbula in Australia because I live in Australia, anyway a bunch of wild lorikeets would come outside our mini house and go on the fence and I would just hold the all and they were so calm and cute

Im currently at the coast and we booked a beach cabin and a bunch of them come for breakfast on the veranda and they are completely wild their a little scared at first but if you hold out some apple on your hand they will jump and just chill on your hand while they eat
In Holland we have a bird park with a so called 'Lori landing', a huge beautiful enclosure with palm trees and rocks. People can enter and feed them nectar. I've been there so many times! Beautiful cheerful birds.
I have 3 conures and 2 lovebirds but I want a blue and gold macaw!! I know how they are I care for one at the place I volunteer and I really want him!!!

There's heaps of these in Australia. I used to see them a lot as a kid. But lately i don't know why but it's getting rare to see them. Also the Rosellas. Maybe they migrated to the outback since Western Sydney is becoming a city that will have an airport in the future :(.
I had a red lory (short tail not lorikeet lol) named Ray when I was younger that was given to my father and I. He was our first bird and there was a lot to learn! I definitely do agree with you on them not being good for an impulse buy lol. But I will say once I went bird haha I never went back! (They have the best smell also!!!)

When my brother got home he saw a lorikeet on the ground and he thought it was dead but it was alive it had a broken nose and wing and it’s slowly heeling and we could him, rio and he does not like to be by himself he likes to be with his owner and loves playing in the bath🥰🤗🤣🥴
My pet red collared lorikeet died a few weeks ago :(. came out of nowhere and happened over night. red collared lorikeets are even nore hyperactive than rainbows. he loved to wrestle and roll around. very sad over hes death as there were no signs beforehand. i miss him very much. if i was to another bird i was considering maybe a conure or a indian ringneck because Gatsby was very high maintanence
Lorries are so pretty. Their droppings are very disgusting but all of their other traits make up for it. (Plus maintenance). I love the little lunch box ya got there. It’s so sad they are impulse bought so often. I disagree about the smell. (Lol) when lorries bathe they smell BAD. Great vid❤️
I think I got lucky with my Sunset Lorikeet. He doesn't splatter liquid poop everywhere and is thankfully potty trained. We share tons of fruits together- namely apples and papaya because they are his favorite :). Fun fact, my Lorikeet was also my first bird!
kenzers how did u potty train ur lorikeet? Nothing i have tried really works with Buddy. Its more a case of us watching him and moving him away from us if we thunk its time for a poo. 😂
Also, there are many different types of lorikeets, Buddy is a Rainbow Lorikeet. I’m in love with Velvet, the «best talking parrot», here on TH-cam. He is a red lori who lives with a lovely family in India, so he speaks Hindi. He lives out of a cage and loves to yell for Mummy from the other room, making aure he can chat with her even if she’s in the kitchen cooking. Look him up here on YT, he’s sooo cute and funny, even without knowing Hindi! 🤗

I went to a “feed the lorikeets” exhibit at the Pittsburg aviary. And I was surrounded by like 20 lorikeets. And two of them went on each of my arms. One of them really wanted the nectar in my bowl so he kept sticking his foot out to make the other one back up. XD... they really were adorable tho
Birds can be potty trained? I had a parrot and a few other birds growing up. Gave them to my sister when i moved out. The parrot and others raised by hand as hatchlings. In my experience they just kindo of go wherever without any thought. MIs my birds, but they are sooo loud!
I just love lorikeets but I will never own one because of their tongue wanting to be in every hole in your head pmsl 🤣🤣 I do love to listen to them in the trees in the afternoons and watch them clown around 😊
Adorable baby! There is a bird store here in SLC and one of the owners says they have the energy like the caiques. He prefers the lorikeet over the caiques because, in his opinion, the caiques are more temperamental, but idk if I could handle the wetter droppings.

Adorable baby! There is a bird store here in SLC and one of the owners says they have the energy like the caiques. He prefers the lorikeet over the caiques because, in his opinion, the caiques are more temperamental, but idk if I could handle the wetter droppings.

Yep. I own 1 had 2 but lost her to illness my couch is covered in turd and have to put a shower curtain up on my wall where his cage is to stop the pistol butt splattering my walls with lorrie squirts

True all around Narrabri right now are Rainbows and musk lorikeets btw I have a Pied Lutino Rainbow Lorikeet and she's just like that but I don't take her outside without a harness
