I don't think you'll ever see the USN engage in dual carrier formations except in training exercises eith other countries to share knowledge and expertise. Dual carrier formations by navies like the PLAN are likely a recognition their single carriers are inadequate against expected adversaries even with the upgraded aircraft. The aircraft probably aren't too much if a concern, the indigenous engines mostly the WS-10 won't likely last more than a week if heavy operations and would need to be replaced. Aircraft flown by all the Western allies should be able to fly months before requiring heavy maintenance that might require replacement. Or, maybe China's carrier will be sunk within hours so endurance is not a concern.

yes, they only have the YJ-91 as an anti-radiation missile. but to be fair, America goes on the offensive 100% of the time - so they need SEAD in great numbers. China would be in most cases, defending their territory against the US and wouldn't need it nearly as much. Against Taiwan, a combination of drones, and missiles including rocket artillery would take out whatever defences Taiwan could muster. Just like Iron Dome can be overwelmed.

I don't think you'll ever see the USN engage in dual carrier formations except in training exercises eith other countries to share knowledge and expertise. Dual carrier formations by navies like the PLAN are likely a recognition their single carriers are inadequate against expected adversaries even with the upgraded aircraft.
The aircraft probably aren't too much if a concern, the indigenous engines mostly the WS-10 won't likely last more than a week if heavy operations and would need to be replaced. Aircraft flown by all the Western allies should be able to fly months before requiring heavy maintenance that might require replacement.
Or, maybe China's carrier will be sunk within hours so endurance is not a concern.

The 2 carrier task force of Chinese navy looks impressive sailing in calm waters. But the Pacific ocean can be brutal at times and with strong waves is able to sink large ships, carriers included.
It may be a prudent decision to showcase the power of the mighty Chinese carrier group near a Chinese pier rather than sail the winds of an angry Pacific ocean during monsoon season. The sea is a taskmaster impossible to please.
