    It’s so refreshing to see people actually repair things on a budget rather than go out & replace the whole floor. It’s so hard to find videos like yours. We really need them.

    This video was extremely helpful. I’m a new homeowner and our laundry room floor ripped when we were trying to install the dryer. I just followed your instructions and the patch turned out perfectly. You can’t even tell it’s there! Thanks so much for posting this!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING IS HOW ITS DONE :)
    Very clever showing how to lay over the new VINYL on top of old area - place it accurately and then make the cut so both the new and old vinyl line up without gaps!

    Thank you very much for showing me how to repair a hole in my floor. The apartment where I live has a very poor cement board which is crumbling under my floor and under the carpet in their hall. I had inlay vinyl put down nine years ago and the rollers on my furniture are braking down the cement board underneath, but everything brakes the stupid cement board. I am going to try your repair on this piece and hope it works; I really don't know what to do because I can't afford to put down a sub-floor and inlay on top.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MARGE COOK I know exactly what type of concrete you’re talking about it’s called Gyp Crete And it works as a fire retardant to keep the bottom and top levels from burning down if someone catches a fire and the stuff is a nightmare to try to do anything with, good luck

  • @minhuang8848
    @minhuang8848 ปีที่แล้ว

    That was a nice video, if I had smaller, less texture-heavy blemishes in my vinyl floors, what would you recommend? I feel like the go-to solution would be some kind of punch for a seamless insert, as long as I have a matching sample this should be fairly easy to pull off... maybe? I'm barely bothered by blemishes but I kind of like working piecemeal on my apartment, so that's something I'm gonna wanna tackle.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be the same principle, the exact same steps but easier, most of the time those wood planks look a lot alike, in a wood looking floor it’s not as important to match,

      sausage man Thank you so much for that awesome compliment sausage man I don’t know at all want to sound braggadocio‘s or anything like that but when it comes to work I would rather leave knowing that I could do nothing else better and make a little bit of money then leave in 30 minutes making a pocket full of money not feeling good about the job that’s what’s great about this job I think the feeling of knowing that you did all you could do to make The job as good as you could do and to make the customers as happy as you possibly can it’s more important to me than to walk away with a pocket full of money it’s such a satisfying job knowing that you do you all you can do to make the job right that might sound a little weird little braggadocio‘s but I promise you it’s not braggadocio‘s my goal on every job is to do the best that I possibly can sometimes if I try to take a shortcut or something I feel guilty about it and felt like I ripped off the customer and before the job is over I will go back and fix it just like that square that was in the hallway that have the sender block i redid that patch three times until I got it as best as I could it’s more about self satisfaction then trying to get rich and if you do that the work will come people will see that you’re trying your best and you do good quality work people appreciate that and you get lots of work by word-of-mouth the carpet store that I work for when I first started there out right the people that was there for 20 and 25 years 15 years I went straight to the top within two months I’m not trying to brag but that’s with that kind of attention to detail and trying to do your best trying to satisfy your customers will get you Thank you for your interest and for watching all my videos

      Just like the cushion back cutter I can't believe how good it makes the seems look they are invisible!! I'll never look back.
      I've been in the trade for 5 years now when I started I was taught by a guy that was all about speed and that's how I've worked ever since.
      I know how to do great work but I've become lazy and after seeing the way you work you are right it is all about word and mouth and having having that feeling of doing the best you can do on a job is a great feeling.

    I had some vinyl plank flooring installed in my house and they had to remove like 3 old layers of flooring beforehand. The bottom of the trim around all of my doors now have about a 1 inch gap from the floor. Is there a budget friendly way to fix this?

      Glue in small pieces of matching trim, fill with a sand able filler , sand and paint

    Very nice job, thank you So much for this great video. we need this too! Also is this 12'x12' pattern? we have been looking for this pattern for 4'x4‘ from home deport and Lowe's , just couldn't find that. Do you have any great Vinyl stores to recommend? We do have a small piece vinyl damaged and needed to patch it asap, many thanks!

      Shirely Cope I would check your local Flooring stores they will have a better variety and selection than your box stores, best of luck and I hope you’re able to solve this and it turns out nice

    For polished vinyl, its necessary to remove the layer of polish before attemping to do this yeah?
