Fun Facts 1. Ned Flanders was designed by Rich Moore, one of the former storyboard artists/ directors of the show. 2. The reason why the crew made Ned a full-time Christian is because of his voice being sweet.
@@chloemr.pippinsfanmail95 In the original Christmas special, Ned's Christmas decorations are of Santa Claus and his Reindeer. (🤖🎅"Ho Ho Ho. Ho Ho Ho.") The "Flanderized" version of Flanders would've had a nativity scene in his yard instead.
As a Christian, I’ve always felt that Ned is actually quite a good representation of Christianity. He’s not perfect, given that his constant gibberish is a sign of anger, and he’s judge mental. But at the same time, he actively tries to live by what Jesus taught, turning the other cheek constantly, showing love to anyone and anything in need (even a gremlin). Like Homer said, if everyone was more like Ned, we wouldn’t need Heaven, because we’d already be there.
@@kittycatmeowmeow963 that’s part of why I loved the pairing of him and Edna so much. Rod and Todd needed a mom like her. Made a very realistic and functional family
The Homer and Ned to Ying and Yang analogy actually fits really well, hidden within all of that alcoholism and selfishness Homer actually cares for his loved ones and would do anything for them when they really need help, and inside all of that self-righteousness and wholesome acts Ned has a raging monster that's ready to break free and trash-talk every citizen of Springfield.
So because he actively tries to be a good man of God. Not judging just saying. Or How about a lazy slob Homer, that beats his son, doesn't understand or encourage Lisa, he's constantly absent from Marge in terms of emotional spiritual or sexual support. Yet Ned was a devout family man that tried to be the literal man of the house. That cherished his children and deeply loved his wife(s). Yes he has a deep anger inside. However he actively tries to suppress and control it. Is that really worse than a father that reflexively strangles his son? That's why I hated Homer. Why I really couldn't stand Homer. Every time Ned blew up on Homer or because of Homer the person always deserved it.
I always thought Ned was the same age as Homer. I mean I stopped watching the show a while back so I missed when he gave out his age and the other stuff. But I always thought they were the same age or Ned was younger.
@@The315fan i think his timeline made more questions than answered. Course when you have been on as long as this show age really does become just a number.
It's hard to believe Ned lived to be 108 years of age. An age like that is hard to achieve and harder to maintain. May God bless him and his family for all eternity.
It's funny, the only characters with consistant ages are Bart and Lisa. they are pretty consistently 10 and 8, though they have likely been younger at various points, judging by birthday episodes. Marge and Homer started out as like 32, and are know 38 or 39(which doesn't make much sense since that would mean that they dated for over a decade before they finally got married which just doesn't seem quite right)
I think at one point they increased Homer's age but not Marge's. Making them dating in high school really weird. I do remember the Konami arcade game listed Lisa's age as 7. The game is based on only the season 1 episodes before Krusty Gets Busted, so it's possible that she was 7 in the show in the early episodes as well. (I don't actually know if here age was ever stated as 7 in the show.)
Oh my gosh this makes so much sense why Homer has resented Ned forever! I never understood his deep seeded hatred for his nice neighbor! But it makes so much sense! I think the resentment came from Ned saving Homer’s life but ruining his world record. And then Ned tries to ruin teenaged Homer from being with Marge. Honestly I think Homer loves Ned, but more like a father figure. Homer rebels against Ned because Ned was always more of a father figure to Homer than even his own father Grandpa Simpson. Homer’s relationship with his dad has always been rocky, but Ned has always been a forgiving and caring neighbor who was always there for Homer in his times of need. When Homer needed help, who did he go to first? His father? No! Always Ned. I love Ned. He’s a real good guy at heart. ♥️♥️♥️
Speaking of Maudes death, we all know the last thing Ned said to her was "no footlongs", but have to ever stopped to think bout the last words we heard her say, as well as the last words she possibly heard? "I know, they make you queasy" and "ooh, a bobby pin"
Fun fact about your usual intro of "ahoy hoy": Mr Burns says it when answering the phone which actually used to be common when the phone was first invented. People would answer with "ahoy" but soon "hello" won out
Fun fact. He wasn’t always left handed. In the episode where Bart and Todd play mini golf Ned signs a contract with his right hand. In the episode where Homer skips church and the Flanders come over to sing he’s playing guitar right handed In the Pin Pals episode he threw the ball with his right hand
In a Tree House of Horrors episode, Ned was revealed to be the devil. However, with the amount of death wives Ned has it would be more fitting for him to be the Grim Reaper instead.
You know, we can never stop loving Ned. He puts so much effort into his family and is so silly. He always tries to be a good neighbor. He is one of my absolute favorites!
You know, Ned/Edna was a really interesting dynamic. At first I was content with Edna/Seymour and really hoped that they'd get back together and she'd finally help him become an independent man... but I love how sweet her relationship with Ned is. Her witty charisma helps to loosen up his by-the-books and regimented lifestyle. The two were lonely but they were able to offer each other something that they really wanted and both lost out on- love. Although the show acted as if the two had never interacted before they started dating (even though they have) it was a really cute story that had so much potential after they married and reading Edna's diary about how happy she was with Ned before passing was something that really brought a tear to my eye. I wish they had more time together.
@@TheSimpsonsTheory Edna was actually my favourite character in the show and her finding happiness with Ned made me so happy as well (it's about damn time she was treated right!). Lisa has such a powerful mind
1: She was able to leave the faith of her family
2: She can tell fortunes- Proven from predicting who would win in football games correctly
3: She was always responsible, and reads so often
I was thinking after you're done with the timeline series do you think you can do a series where you can count down all the worst things each family member of The Simpsons has done
I was thinking of doing a dark side of Ned Flanders this year.
Please make an krusty the clown timeline. I love your channel :)

Crazy. I shed a tear for Mrs. K when they put it on the board.
Wait, when Ned was 90 he said “Homer accidentally killed Edna”, how did Homer killed Edna, I thought he killed Maude(unknowingly)not Edna. Now I gotta know
