It's also sad that Kia is not as reliable as Toyota and Honda in terms of mechanical, exterior and interior materials. Don't forget that Kia and Hyundai have been using cheap recycle material on framing and other door panels. Kia might have beaten Chinese bootlegger autos, but it just can't not compare to Japanese high quality products!

What say you? Update: After testing driving the Carnival and the Sienna Hybrid - the Sienna XLE feels much more composed overall from a driving perspective. The only challenge is getting used to the hybrid powertrain. However, acceleration above 50 mph feels about the same when comparing the powerful Kia 290 hp engine to the Sienna Hybrid.

Ground clearance is actually 0.5inch less than SUV....much higher than all other minivans. It TRUELY is like a SUV...b/c of ground clearance has off road capabilities.

You'd fall in love with it. I got mine below MSRP which is rare. This car is a head turner for sure and drives super smooth! The features alone beats a lot of cars to include luxury cars! You won't regret!

Let me tell ya something Joe, I got one of these about a month ago at Kia of Wesley Chapel and we are absolutely loving it! I also sunk the fact that it doesn't have at least a front sunroof and that the display for the dash is tiny, plus it should have definetely included homelink at this price level. However, the looks, comfort, plethora of features and the immense space inside is more than enough to keep one happy. Heck, I never thought a mini van (sorry Kia, it is what it is) would get so many looks when we're out an about, and yet this one is a magnet for onlookers. Crazy! Overall, Kia hit it out of the park!
If you would have bought the prestige it has all those features including the heated steering wheel. My car has two sun roofs and an entire completely digital dash.
Can you take out that center seat in the second row? And how’s it do in the snow? My family needs more room and as much as I like the Telluride and Palisade they just don’t compare in the people moving capacity that minivans have.
@@matthewgeissinger2856 I'm in Florida, so I don't think I'd ever find out how it would do in snow 🤪. However, it's FWD, so I would say not that great. And yes, the middle seat in the 2nd road is removable, plus if you fold it, it sort of acts as a center console/table tray with cup holders.

I love love love the style of this van, although I also zonked the fact they didn't hide the door runner I'd personally go black to disguise that zonk. But I'll be lying if I didn't admit I'm a skeptic of Kia as a company. The electrical issues we had in our Sedona was a nightmare and dangerous! These recent fires due to the electrical issues brings back flashbacks(thankfully never no fire, but the loss of all functions at highway speeds, and rear doors opening while driving with my kids back there was a done deal for us!)
1. I like the exterior styling ( it reminds me of a Ford Explorer ). 2. Kia missed it's make with not doing AWD. 3. I'm tall so most top trim vehicles I can't and won't buy because of the sunroof. ( The sunroof side tracks I always touch, bump or is just in the way all the time. I don't want to drive with my head tilted to the side or reclining back further than I want. ) 4. I love that this vehicle can fit 4x8 sheets of plywood. To bad plywood is so expensive right now that if I needed to buy plywood ( which I do ) I couldn't afford this vehicle. I wish I could fit 4x8 sheets into the Telluride. 5. The price of this vehicle is a little high. I think the Telluride is a better bang for your buck mainly because of it being AWD. 6. The MPG are lacking, I expect to get numbers like those from it having AWD. 7. Good move on Kia moving away from the old ( US ) name. But to bad they didn't go all the way and renamed it for the entire international market to completely remove it from it being called a minivan. They should just be pushing it as a MPV and called it something else ( not the Carnival ). I would consider buying one of these ( the SX without the Prestige because of the sunroof ) but I really can't because it doesn't have AWD unless this FWD is an absolute champ in heavy snow.
Great review, however, respectfully and constructively I was waiting to see what it looked like with the mid row seats taken out and also folded down and in. That is one of the BiGGEST draws of the vehicle.
Living in Colorado, I’d also love to see AWD. If the Carnival SX and Telluride SX had a baby, it would be perfect!! But AWD It’s the only thing that has me leaning toward the SX Telluride, which I hate because I want the second row bench or folding center seat.

Let me tell ya something Joe, I got one of these about a month ago at Kia of Wesley Chapel and we are absolutely loving it! I also sunk the fact that it doesn't have at least a front sunroof and that the display for the dash is tiny, plus it should have definetely included homelink at this price level. However, the looks, comfort, plethora of features and the immense space inside is more than enough to keep one happy. Heck, I never thought a mini van (sorry Kia, it is what it is) would get so many looks when we're out an about, and yet this one is a magnet for onlookers. Crazy! Overall, Kia hit it out of the park!
Completely agree! They should've added those or at least an option. Even heated steering wheel would be nice.
You can get homelink/electrochromic mirror for $350 + installation at your KIA dealer.
If you would have bought the prestige it has all those features including the heated steering wheel. My car has two sun roofs and an entire completely digital dash.
Can you take out that center seat in the second row? And how’s it do in the snow? My family needs more room and as much as I like the Telluride and Palisade they just don’t compare in the people moving capacity that minivans have.
@@matthewgeissinger2856 I'm in Florida, so I don't think I'd ever find out how it would do in snow 🤪. However, it's FWD, so I would say not that great. And yes, the middle seat in the 2nd road is removable, plus if you fold it, it sort of acts as a center console/table tray with cup holders.
I would literally consider this if it had AWD and a sunroof. Pennsylvania weather, you definitely need AWD.

Well... with the smart comment I was going by the video. But not everyone wants fwd. It is more easier to have AWD instead. But who am I... just a female that wants what she wants.
@@robindillardheilman8090 Lol, i cant argue with that. I do know that most people who want AWD never drove a FWD with snow tires, i guess my biggest gripe is the low MPGs.
AWD is way overhyped. I’d take a FWD with snow tires over an AWD with all season anywhere.
I love love love the style of this van, although I also zonked the fact they didn't hide the door runner I'd personally go black to disguise that zonk. But I'll be lying if I didn't admit I'm a skeptic of Kia as a company. The electrical issues we had in our Sedona was a nightmare and dangerous! These recent fires due to the electrical issues brings back flashbacks(thankfully never no fire, but the loss of all functions at highway speeds, and rear doors opening while driving with my kids back there was a done deal for us!)
1. I like the exterior styling ( it reminds me of a Ford Explorer ).
2. Kia missed it's make with not doing AWD.
3. I'm tall so most top trim vehicles I can't and won't buy because of the sunroof. ( The sunroof side tracks I always touch, bump or is just in the way all the time. I don't want to drive with my head tilted to the side or reclining back further than I want. )
4. I love that this vehicle can fit 4x8 sheets of plywood. To bad plywood is so expensive right now that if I needed to buy plywood ( which I do ) I couldn't afford this vehicle. I wish I could fit 4x8 sheets into the Telluride.
5. The price of this vehicle is a little high. I think the Telluride is a better bang for your buck mainly because of it being AWD.
6. The MPG are lacking, I expect to get numbers like those from it having AWD.
7. Good move on Kia moving away from the old ( US ) name. But to bad they didn't go all the way and renamed it for the entire international market to completely remove it from it being called a minivan. They should just be pushing it as a MPV and called it something else ( not the Carnival ).
I would consider buying one of these ( the SX without the Prestige because of the sunroof ) but I really can't because it doesn't have AWD unless this FWD is an absolute champ in heavy snow.

Very different but Kia just put a lot of though in this vehicle. Totally functional for families.

Go with the Telluride! KIA had three years to get it right. You don't want to be a 1st yr Carnival guinea pig.
Carnival front on Telluride would be nice. I always liked the concept version more.

Great review, however, respectfully and constructively I was waiting to see what it looked like with the mid row seats taken out and also folded down and in. That is one of the BiGGEST draws of the vehicle.

If the Carnival SX and Telluride SX had a baby, it would be perfect!!
But AWD It’s the only thing that has me leaning toward the SX Telluride, which I hate because I want the second row bench or folding center seat.
