During Covid I did BYOTA - back yards on the air for my radio club. Like yourself it was to encourage experimentation by sharing the different things I got up-to and encourage members to press the PTT. Operating out in the garden in the sunshine is magical. 👍🏻 great vid thanks 73 Mike

Thanks Mike and great stuff during Covid! We need more stuff like this to try and entice some folks away from FT8 and back onto SSB and CW :)

I'm curious to understand whether this radio is good enough to operate as a base station in a shack? I'm currently using an FTDX5000MP and FTDX10, but I really like the look of this little thing.

Hi John. The radio is great in the shack. It has no DSP, just good old crystal filters and, being a single conversion superset, has a quiet receiver. In the garden, you are seeing at at its worst, with a compromise antenna to boot! Watch some of the later videos where I use it in the field. I love this little radio

@bayamateurradiogroup Thank you. I'd be using it mostly at home with a Steppir DB11 on a 15m mast on 20-10m.

@bayamateurradiogroup Just waiting for a response from Boris about some of the options, then I think we're good to go!
