4:50 Toby: "I'm just going to hang out here and not be a pest"... ...
looking for duck poop, but trying to be inconspicuous about it...
      Morgan calls Toby.
      Toby:
Ohh!!! He called me ... He actually called me...
Big smile as he rushes over when he realizes that he is getting some more attention.

I have lived a whole year in the US, and as a european, I have been really shocked by the lack of ecological consciousness of americans overall, even the ones who were sensitive to the environmental cause. But you sir seem to be doing a great job and I love the fact that you chose this slow peaceful pace of life over the big cities' turmoil. Your dream isn't a "hippy dippy aspiration" but really what most people should aim for in order to preserve our planet and a lot of ammenities we can enjoy today that are typical of very high energy return on investment based societies.
I'm not saying everyone should live on a farm or that everything you are doing is perfect yet, there is still a long way to go (and that's the beauty of it), but your mindset and attitude are truly remarkable. So thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us and showing us how cool a peaceful and slow farming life is!!

I explained to my husband what you do a few videos back as I was introducing him to your channel and he said “well why didn’t we get a goose from him this past Christmas? I’ve never had goose before I want goose.” Then I explained that I didn’t say “hey why don’t we go do this” because we are in the Finger Lakes region of NY and I didn’t think that he would’ve ok’d the drive (After I explained the no shipping). But he totally surprised me and said that for that fresh of a goose and something that has that much quality behind it he would make the drive.
    So well done Sir!
P.S. we live in a city right now ourselves but the plan is to buy a few modest acres and have a garden and chickens but also ducks.... I am informing you now that I have intentions to “ RELEASE THE QUACKEN” of my own lol 😂 it just tickles my soul every time I hear you say that 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆🦆

Morgan, Always a pleasure. Today I took up the black membrane in the polytunnel and dug over the ground. The membrane has been down 4-5 years. Going to rake and add compost Sunday /Monday and grow the things I'd planned for the allotment at home. I'll be fencing off from the chickens. They helped debug today. Asthma, hayfever and copd make me a bit of a wreck this time of year so I'm pacing myself. I'm isolated, locked down until at least 27th June so heart attack pace not required. I think your considered approach will yield some halcyon days in your 40s & 50s and allow you to plan to age in place. There is a calm over that pasture. I hope it pervades the whole place. Take care. Clean and dry that hand after it's been in the nitrile glove. Disinfect! Regards Stephen.

I love the wildlife being around - we have wild chickens that I call the Peeps. Well, they are pheasants really and are released after hatching for shooting later on. But I have my regulars that come up to me. Nothing quite as irresistible as a female pheasant begging for food - they cheep like chicks, hence being named the Peeps! So I do so agree with the way you feel about the wild ducks. Nice shot of the landscape with the clouds and sun reflecting on the pond too. :D PS I'm not the one shooting the birds!

Where I'm from in Newfoundland our tame ducks would go out in the salt water (in the bay) when the salt water ducks would come into shore. They would swim away together, but not return cause birds of prey would get them cause they couldn't fly. So, we tried to keep them away from the salt water.
I do like seeing your ducks with the wild ones knowing that your ducks won't fly away. I'm hoping maybe they'll breed together. Mallards are known to inter breed with wild black ducks, which I'm not sure is good though..haha

I like the think your ducks talk to eachother and the wild ducks, and the wild ducks have thick russian accents.

If you haven't watched the Biggest Little Farm it has all the "hippy" feels of farming with nature.

It is great that you are attracting wild ducks and geese too. Do you try to feed them any grain? You have such a lovely farm. Do you raise chickens too? Be safe. 💖
