  • The 160th anniversary of the Battle of 3rd Winchester this playthrough for Death Valley from GMT games. We will fight through the battle looking at the decisions that had to be made at a tactical level. This will not be a replay of the battle but a situation of given the same setup parameters, what my decisions and choices are for the flow of the battle at the tactical level.

    Excellent run through of the infantry shock combat procedure.

    Great Job with the video. Did you apply post shock automatic disorder to the yankees later

      Thanks for the view. Good catch, I might not have I will need to go back and review. It is on my list of things I miss when playing.

    Great demo on Shock Alan. I keep thinking about playing 1 of these with no Shock Attacks, just plink away at range and see how the fight develops.

      Interesting idea. I would think this would put more emphasis on maneuver to accomplish the victory conditions.

    Sawyer have you played around with using off board displays to put brigade orders, fatigue levels, destroyed units and such on? I'm toying with the idea of making displays for each brigade so I can just put the sp hits, ammo status, and other status effects on there to avoid counter clutter which can easily happen with GBACW. Really like the system and not sure why some people say its overly hard to learn.

      I did "BrIgade Sleds" for another Death Valley scenario, on BGG as a download, check them out ...

      I have toyed with a few things and would like to have a bit better organization with the markers, particularly Fatigue and Orders. I do like displays like what Flying Colors has added as they have more counter clutter. I did see rockin3404 which are interesting.

      @@rockin3404 I did see these and they look interesting. I have the displays for Flying Colors that work very well. Are you planning a video on how you use them?

      @@campsawyer I find that it cuts down on time for the game as well when you are not worrying about knocking stacks over because of so many counters being in the way. Course you need to have room for the displays.

    Finally catching up with these Winchester vids. Looks like Ramseur tried to build a Mule Shoe without the breastworks. 😮 I assume you’ll be doing Cedar Creek next month? 🤞

      Thanks Amerislav. Ramseur got run over and problably stayed to far forward to log. But to clog up the Union advance through the canyon was just to tempting. Yes, I want to play Cedar Creek next, if I can recover from this one. 😃

    I probably missed it but what does shock represent?

    • @campsawyer
      @campsawyer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching. Shock combat is the close action between units, charges and countercharges trying to push the enemy from positions that you want to occupy or to destroy their will to fight.
