I had same P0238 error on my 2010 VW 1.6 tdi . After some checks i found that G31 MAP sensor wiring was cut damaged by radiator fan blades . After re-sold and insulate the purple and grey wires everything is back normal .
In my case the intermediate connector is hidden below near engine starter .
Thanks for you video , helped a lot !!

Thank you for video. Helped me solve the same DTC. Open circuit due to damaged wiring harness!

I don't have a VW but I have a BMW. Apparently this isn't a common thing on them so there's no videos about a problem like this on the TMAP sensor. Only how to replace them. So I'm pretty sure after all the investigating and trouble shooting I've done plus the code is saying the same thing that I have a continuity problem from my Tmap to my DME (ECU). Thank you for this video!

Having the exact same code on my Volvo, of all brands even the reliable ones have issues🙄😂. replaced the MAP sensor, but issue hasnt gone away. So after watching this very useful video, I will suspect my car has a wiring issue between MAP sensor and ECU.

thanks a lot for this video. it helps me to fix the issue on my Touran 1.9 tdi. The wire signal wire (pin 4) was broken near the 14 pin plug

Great diagnosis work! I have very similar problem with VW TDI CRI 2.0 engine with trouble codes P1592 and P0238 when the engine is cold (less than 15-20 °C) and the problem disappears when the engine is hot. I'm betting this is also wiring or connector issue and the wire barely starts to tranfer electricity when surrounding is warm enough. When the problem is active, the measured MAP value is near 1600 mbar and fluctuates a bit with RPM.

I have the problem on my C4 Picasso 2.0 HDI. But my engine don`t even want to start. I have to check the MAP sensor and the wires. Cool video!

Great work but not need for background music. Its irrigating and unnecessary. No one fixes car listening to music in their daily life

    Great detailed video there!
    Had overboost fault code P0234..
Touran 1.4TSI twincharge has since replaced Turbocharger, DV (N249), PCV (N75), MAP sensor, 2x Boost sensor (G31).. Leak check done and none found.
Now reverted to stock file but diverter valve keeps dumping boost, you can hear it. There is no error code now and sadly no boost too. Im suspecting wiring issues like in ur video. What do you think?

Great video otherwise but I would leave out all the music out from similar videos in future. The video would be eve better without the extra music.

Hi, can you tell me why my diagnostic tool is no longer showing a boost pressure sensor in the live data. I use an autel mk808. It used to show it and as of today it doesn't?

Mine is missing wire 2 ? Is this just how some Audis are or did mine get cut?

Pin 2 is air temperature signal. Maybe in your situation the air temperature is measured by another sensor, like MAF sensor

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@rohdvestfix MAF sensor always includes a temperature sensor because that's needed by the MAF internally. Some manufacturers just seem to select more or less randomly which sensor to use for the temperature. I think manufacturers should use one temperature sensor in MAF and another after the intercooler to have better understanding of the intercooler performance. That could be also correlated to MAF + MAP difference because with a hot intercooler MAP will show higher values than MAF would suggest.

Can someone please explain why my big plug won’t plug back in? I’ve done the same as the video and tried putting it back together and now it won’t go. Like the plug isn’t lined up with the locating pins. 😩

Remove the sensor and check the pins. I had a bent pin doing the same thing.
