I remember my Mom & Dad at the stove making Divinity, talking back and forth ready not ready. Such great memories.

I am a 70 year old woman. And I learned how to make this candy from my grandma. But we always called it sea foam candy. Anyway we never put vinegar in ours. We did sometimes put other flavors in. Like peppermint, cherry, orange and chocolate to name a few. Then with two spoons we would put it on waxed paper. Nothing fancy. Love, love, love this candy.

Every year my mom made a plate of homemade cookies and candies for my teachers, the mailman, the newspaper boy and more. Such happy memories. Divinity is my favorite. Thanks so much!

When I was 10 years old I made divinity candy ( mama assisted) and I sold it in wrapped pkgs house to house to raise money for the March of Dimes. It was during polio pandemic time and I wanted to help the sick people. I raised $1000.00. The newspaper came out and made my picture with a child who had contracted polio and was in braces. I have never forgotten that and thats why I take covid very seriously.
Thank you so much for making divinity it brought back fond memories. ❤

I agree that is a great story.my neighbor was in a wheelchair chair when I was a little girl. He played with us everyday. When he died at about 17 I was 9 but I was devastated. Even at 74 I never forgot him and his sister he was bossy but we loved him anyway. Polio was a no joke disease back then as COVID is today.

My Grandma made it so after she died I missed it soooo much. She beat it by hand and the mixer could cool down a bit. She didn't have anything but a Sunbeam Mixmaster, soooo we have it soo much better with our heavy duty ones.
I ❤ your shows and enjoy knowing that I am watching my Sister in Christ. My earthly family roots are in Kentuckey, so I enjoy your southern expressions and honesty. Thanks a load for all you teach me earthly and divinely. I'm almost 79, but still learn new things every day. PTL!

Hi Tammy! Divinity is a holiday tradition in my family, too! My grandmother made the most perfectly formed rounds of candy that were smooth & ever so slightly flattened after a pecan half was pressed into it. Good choice to include this recipe in your holiday series. Thanks for another video , y'all!

I got really brave last year and I made my first divinity. I went by the weather because I always heard do not make it on a humid day. I was scared to death to even try it. I made it and it turned out great. I made it again for Thanksgiving for a trial run and the bowl was all gone. I want to make some more for Christmas. My KitchenAid mixer is in my storage unit, and I need to go get it. I love my Sunbeam Mixmaster and I do not want to burn the motor up. You really need to beat it very high. I love making it, it is really easy to make, you just have to watch your temperature to get it to the right point. I had not thought about making a log out of it, a great idea.

Hi Tammy and Chris, I was watching your rolled out dumpling recipe. You made a comment that Cracker Barrel uses drop dumplings. I used to work at a Cracker Barrel. I worked there for 30 years and they do roll out and cut their dumplings, maybe a little thicker than yours rolled out! I watch you every day. I have two of your cookbooks, and a lot of the kitchen tools you have in your kitchen and website. I am amazed at the blending fork. you are right it is like magic. Thank you and Chris for all you do. God Bless you and your family. We love you guys!

Ohh my goodness Tammy! That looked so yummy! My mama would add cherry juice n diced very small pieces of cherries up n mix in with it and honestly was the best thing you ever put in your mouth! She'd also chop up pecans into tiny pieces to roll into the divinity! Sometimes she would add a lil pineapple or coconut n she called the fruit n nut rolls! I honestly believe my mama could take anything even when just experimenting or playing as she called it and make anykind of anything! Give her a can of cream, sugar, different flavorings, (especially her vanilla), flour, fruit n nuts and she could make magic! Lol. Lordy oh Lord Tammy, how I miss my mama! She had more patience than Job, and was happy n sweet all the time. She'd whoop up a batch of tea cakes in a minute and tell us to come here babies, (We were all her babies, no matter our age) and she'd roll up a ball of batter for us to taste and ask up, What do you want yours to taste like, n all of us standing round her n the table n she'd let us put our own in it and on it! She was Amazing! We couldn't ask for a mother ad precious as she was! Around the holidays especially, I miss her so bad! Thank you once again for helping me to bring her memories to a reality! Thank you for this recipe and God Bless you Tammy! I pray you and Chris have the Merriest Christmas with your daughters...God Bless you girfriend! From my house in Blue Ridge to yours, Merry Christmas...🙏💖💪💕💪💙😀🌷

I love divinity but have never made it. It was my dad's favorite homemade candy. My Granny had tall pecan trees in her backyard. She made many desserts from her trees. The other family favorite she made was pecan logs during holidays.
My mom never made it. She bought it from Stuckys Candy store. I'm going to try your recipe one day. 😋 Yummy. It looks like a lot of work. Lol. I don't own a candy thermometer or double broiler to make candy. Yet, I own some real cute antique candy molds.

My favorite is divinity above anything sweet. I have made it but not in several years. I used your receipe. I also have a Fannie farmer cookbook and I love it mine is pretty old. My problem with divinity is the nuts. My daughter is anaphylactic to nuts. I have to put cherries or nothing
If she even smells things she’s allergic to she reacts. I just loved watching you make the logs. I used to buy them at these gift shops on a trip if she wasn’t with me.

My mom did make divinity and I do miss it. But I must say it is intimidating. I tried it once, years ago, and it did not turn out. I may have to get a candy thermometer and give it another go. My Christmas specialty is Oatmeal Lace cookies. At my sons shop his coworkers would actually hide them from each other. Have you made Oatmeal Lace? It’s so easy, and so good. I even use gluten free oats and flour for people who have that challenge. Love you guys. Merry Christmas. 🎁🎄

There’s no arguing with Miss Fanny. 😂
I miss being able to go into a Fanny Farmer store and create my own assortment of chocolate. We used to joke about it being as sterile as an operating room; everything - walls, floor and ceiling were white and the whole place just looked sparkling clean. And the staff wore white uniforms. We had one in the city I grew up in and then another one just a bus ride away in the neighboring city. There were 2 stores on the same street, just a few blocks apart, in downtown Boston. Aah, memories. 😀
Thank you for this, I always thought the consistency was like meringue. It looks delicious.

HI TAMMY, I MAKE THIS CANDY EVERY YEAR. INSTEAD OF USING 3 CUPS OF SUGAR IN MINE I USE 2 CUPS OF SUGAR AND I OPEN A BOX OF STRAWBERRY JELLO AND POUR IT INTO MY EGG WHITE MIXTURE AFTER I HAVE ADDED THE SYRUP TO THE BEATEN EGG WHITES. IT GIVES IT A PINK COLOR AND MAKES THE CANDY TASTE NOT SO SWEET. WHEN I MAKE THIS CANDY I MAKE 3 BATCHES. 1 IS WHITE. 1 IS PINK FROM THE STRAWBERRY JELLO AND THE LAST BATCH I POUR IN A BOX OF LIME JELLO. THAT WAY I HAVE CHRISTMAS COLORS. THE NEXT TIME I MAKE THIS CANDY I MAY TRY TO ADD A FEW DROPS OF RED FOOD COLORING TO THE STRAWBERRY FLAVERED CANDY TO SEE IF I CAN MAKE IT RED INSTEAD OF PINK. TRY IT AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT. LOVE WATCHING YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND AND YOUR SHOW. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

I'd never seen Divinity made - it's Italian meringue! Depending on how much (if any) corn syrup you add and how much water is in the syrup, you can make it various levels of hardness & tackiness. ... In American shops, it's the "nugget" pf candy bars, and also marshmallow-fluff.

When I made this delicious candy I cooled the divinity, rolled into logs, covered in caramel then rolled in pecans
