the garen struggle... tbh, i would never go without phase rush and try to make short trades, always try to keep your Q as an exit, Basic>E+W>Q and exit, With runes i would go phase rush, nulling orb, celerity, scorch. with second wind and revitalize, +8 ad and 2 of 10-180 extra hp. unless you can surprise him, keep ur Q until last moment to help you scape silencing him and giving you a boost of speed plus phase rush, then you quickly recover, you rotate your skills faster, when he shields and heal, then you attack again
It's turbo easy. Take the phase rush rune page, go stridebreaker into mortal reminder, but rush the executioneer blade first. Whenever you have w, you go for a quick trade q-auto-e or q-e-tiamat/stride and run away with phase rush after your w expires. It takes a bit of practice but morde is easy in lane. Don't let him hit isolated q's on you. Morde also gets nerfed next patch. At lvl 6 you should be able to all in him if he is close to half hp. The biggest mistake you made was going conqueror. Phase rush is the best rune for garen in all cases.
As a mord main u def wnna do alot of short trades. Mord has sustain thru w but ur passive is alot better. Js cut him down little by little then go for all in when u have r. Mords main damage comes from his q and passive so realistically try and bait his q first then trade w ur aa q e and dip w phase rush. Also if u c a mord holding onto his w its best to not all in as his shield is broken
