A great review, much better than many others since you directly focus on the user. I could immediately see myself as a user and what I´d look for. Great work! If I should summarize it: Great for road warrior Office users (like me) but not for gamers and designers.

Good experience using Elitebook 840 G6. My office laptop provided by the company. I prefer the Elitebook compared to my own personal Envy13 (2018 model) which have good battery life and better keyboard.

I've been a Thinkpad fan ever since I first used a laptop, but this HP laptop is very appealing. Might have a change of heart in next laptop upgrade :P

Nice PC. Camera look okay for a 720p. MIcrophones sounded clear and good. LIke the easy access to the insides (no screws under rubber strips etc.) HP should do this to all their computer lines. For those needing an SD card slot one could purchase an inexpensive adapter that can connect to either a USB-A or USB-C port. Good selection of ports. Like the wifi 5 capability if needed. Overall as a general rule HP gives the best value for the money. You do not pay a premium for a PC with the name Dell or Apple on it etc. Great review as always.

The best characteristics of it's form factor is the easy upgrade/fix shell.

EliteBook 830 G9 with Core i5 1245U is a performance beast for office worker and professionals. Color Accurate, 5G option, and a highly comfy keyboard are the prime plus points for the machine.

Thank you for the review Andrew. I wanted to purchase the Road Warrior and was comparing it against a few others. Looks like I will settle with this one.

I am using an 840 G6 for work and it's definitely time for an upgrade, the 8th gen i5 is starting to show it's age. Funny how this is the case for notebooks. It''s too bad we don't have any stock lol.

Hi, did someone notice the fan spinning up when using an external sreen via Thunderbolt? This is an issue with all Thunderbolt 3 notebooks I tried and I wonder if this heat issue is fixed. The fanless Apple M1 Macbook Air uses a special chip which doesn't offer true TB4 support.

16:9 display aspect ratio, no SD/MicroSD slot, and only 720p webcam..... in a supposedly "premium" business laptop?

Does it have a descrete TPM?
As a business focused laptop it should also because of Windows 11 compatibility/upgradability.

Honestly I’ve checked this…specing this laptop nearly upto the specifications of base model of new 14” MacBook Pro M1pro…the MacBook is $200 cheaper…though with less ports but even stronger processor and better battery life…and MagSafe…there’s just more features and windows on parallels or third party…and even better display, audio, etc…
In high end laptops…Apple ain’t stealing us…it’s making life better honestly

I've received one of these laptops from work. How can I connect it to two external monitors? I dont want to buy an expensive docking station and hopefully there is a compatible thunderbolt to HMDI cable. What would work?

I have the same question, I am doubting between these 2 models. I have been using Thinkpad since 10 years ago, but this HP model looks and feel good and is about 100€ cheaper. Anyway it is difficult for me to change.
