Sam to passing sailboats -"how far ya going?"
Sailboat replies -"couple miles up this river. How about you?"

Like when Dodge Morgan set out to smash the word record for solo circumnavigation.
When leaving RI port capt ask for his destination, Dodge replied RI.
Well, it took a little explanation that he was sailing non stop around the world.
It is Portugal but like a 1000 miles away its like the Falklands is the UK but a long way away

Sam. Have you seen any UAPs? Or had any paranormal, spiritual or similar experiences? While on passage? It's a big open world out there. Livr it when you drop sails and go for a swim when you the only person within miles if not hundreds.
Maybe put some padding on the edge of those solar panels bud. Looks like a headbutt waiting to happen.
Pool noodles or plumbing insulation might save some cuts and bruises.
Can I just say “Sam Holmes” is a name that just screams “this dude is gonna do great things”

Oh just watching the bow of the vessel going up and down, the sound of the diesel engine running brings back so many memories of going out to sea.I am looking to have some more of those memories sometime in the near future with my next vessel. My longest voyage was from fort Lauderdale Florida to North shore Oahu haleiwa. I look forward to many more miles under the keel of my next vessel. Looking forward to all the videos to come and of course hoping the best for your voyage good luck Fair winds and following seas to you Sam. I put plastic table corner guards on the corners of my solar panels. For the sake of your head, I hope you do too!
Bon Voyage. I think you might be sealing the dodger to to cabin top in the future. There could be a lot of very annoying water squirting in there.
Based on wind and weather forecast, Sam may shoot a little south of Bermuda, heave to, and drift in. Safer bet if winds are high. So might take an extra day or two.
Stalker! Just kidding!! How do you follow his progress? Good analysis and good suggestion too. You must've done ocean voyaging yourself it seems...

@@mboyer68 and I've never done an ocean crossing. Only sailing I've ever done has been as a passenger on one of Sam's boats.

CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE!!! Last time I saw you in this boat you was removing the seams on the side and starting to fiberglass them in and it was about to rain. WOW.. you have really restored and upgraded. I have worked on Cuddy cabins since I was a kid and I must say I'm really impressed with all you have done. Its beautiful man. I'm saving to purchase my first sailboat. Well, I'm on a commercial, lol..let me skip it and finish viewing your trip.

Raised timber rail is a good feature, keep it.
Will you stow the anchors when underway? Also anything else tied on deck. You will be pleased you did if you get in a storm.
I would have had a mobile search light, more useful and will last longer if not drenched in salt water.

B Bilges
L Levels

For sure, your hard dodger is a nice detail in bad weather!
But when I see all the bolts beside your head, it makes me real worry!
If you don´t want to shorten the bolts, you should think about, to glue an extra layer of wood
around the windows!
In choppy conditions, those outstanding bolts can hurt you very bad, easily!

Nice tour ! Please take a record of how many times you will hit your head at these solar panels ! They are placed too low in the cockpit and so take essential living space... Should really be higher up on an A- frame on the stearn. Cheers!

Azores/ Madeira are awesome! Crewed on the R/V Vema 45 yrs ago and spent the winter bobbing around the N.Atlantic. I laugh my butt off when I watch "the deadlest catch" and the ripples of the ocean they dramatize.
Well if they weren't drama queens nobody would watch them, right?

I watch Sam and similar sailing channels and this is what happens in my brain...
"Screw that, I'm going to stop dreaming of ocean voyaging."
Next day..."I can't get this dream, fantasy of ocean voyaging out of my head, I'll do what he's doing some day!"
Next day after watching how to sail oceans bobbing in no wind for two days..."screw that, I'm going to get a motorhome instead..."
Next day.."i can't wait to get my dream sailboat and begin preparations..."
Etc Etc etc
Sam is closing in on Bermuda doing over 6 kts in 23+ kt winds. Should be there in 3-4 hours.
The new dodger seems like it's going to be awesome for filming and visibility/keeping you out of the weather!
