I wish I could relive the time of MMOs back then. FlyFF, Space Cowboy Online, Ragnarok Online, MapleStory.. They just don't make them like that anymore.
It's crazy how GOOD the music is in a game almost 20 years old. Compared to other games that loop after 30sec we have over 2min of unique beautiful music
The only MMO I've played that comes close to this is Final Fantasy XIV Online. Both RO and FFXIV have a huge variety of musical styles, great composition and playing, and just darned enjoyable music.

I used to listen to this theme when I was sad because there was something soothing about it, but as a result I couldn't listen to it unless I was sad. Now I can listen to it for its own sake and enjoy every note and pause.

i was on the malaysian server around 20 years ago before it went into subscription based model (i think it may have been called Iris). Back then the ultimate guild was called Legion and it had a striking blue emblem. Being part of this guild meant it came with a bit of notoriety because they're seen as the best players in the server. It's small things like this I miss seeing in today's MMO.
Good old times. It start with iris and later penril as a second server. A third and fourth server later appear, and iris become so crowded that they split into iris 1 and 2. And the good old days just stop afterwards. Players decreased and they started merging server until eventually there is only one server remaining before the original publisher gameflier close down all of them eventually. While they did host another malaysia/singapore server, it is no longer the same
Playing ro for the communiy, too bad bot destroyed the community. Missed the time when we sit inside a dungeon chatting with some other players but clearly we cannot chat with the bot.

Even so, this is STILL my favorite BGM as far as the towns go.
