This theme is incredibly nostalgic. I hope all my old RO friends are doing great 😢

I met him in 2010 while playing at an internet cafe in my hometown. He came from a distant city with his family. He started working there just a few months before our meeting.
Upon entering the cafe, I asked him whether RO was installed or not. He said yes, escorted me to the game room, and stayed right behind me at the corner of the room for hours until I came home.
He returned to the operator desk from time to time to work, only to crouch at the corner again to watch me play. He knew full well that his boss was in the room right beside the operator desk 😅
Long story short, after almost 10 years of dating we got married on 25 November 2023. Looking forward to our first Christmas together. RLN4E ❤

Memories of the old community center where me and my bros used to play together. Back when my best friend was alive and he used to show me all kinds of nerdy shit I wasn't into yet. Man we spent so much time playing this and so many other games. I miss you man.
Back then when I used to play Ragnarok, this song made me feel at ease. Now that I look back at this song, it made me cry due to the nostalgia
A friend told me "Dude there's this game like Legend of Mana but you play with other people". That's how it all began for me almost 2 decades ago

Anyone still listening in 2024? I really miss my old friends from RO, my guild, and how we would just hangout in the central plaza, fight over a MVP boss drop, tease the new member or create drama because someone gave a present to somebody else's girlfriend... or boyfriend. It really felt like a second life that it's now gone. (and yes, we would do this with priests, soul linkers, whitesmiths and everyone else spamming their skills on the background in the central plaza of the city)
It's been 20 years and their music still sounds so good just like yesterday~
All the warps and buffs jingling around, all the merchants, all the pet mobs swirling. Ahhh memoriea
And people spamming magic effects i cant damn see anything.

November 2019. Really missed the game. My guild mates are scattered in different countries. One in UK, the other one in US, while my priest is in K.S.A and me in UAE. Now I understand why I usually stay in Morroc(desert). The memories of RO will live forever n my heart.
nowsday I still play this game. only for the weekend I met a lot of people in Guildwar and they are my good friends.
Anootara Minty that’s good for you. Sad to say that now I don’t have time to play RO. I’m glad that the game still exist but for me, it will serve as a Wonderful Memory with my friends.

De todas as músicas da trilha, essa é a mais marcante. Grande parte do tempo a gente passava nessa cidade. Não à toa tem o maior número de views. Depois de tantos anos sem ouvir esse tema, as lágrimas de saudade bateram forte, especialmente a partir dos 3:20... Quanta saudade, quanto momento bom.

I miss this game so much sometimes. I've come back to it a couple of times but it never feels like it did back in 2004. This was a fun game, but I swear, the people I met on it was what made it memorable. So here's to all of you. I miss you all with each passing year.
Nothing will ever hit me with so much nostalgia as this one.

Sure miss those days, probably around 20 years ago now i always remember my friends and I as was typical to get to any city. you would wait for someone to pay for a warp portal and then everyone would charge into it many not knowing where it went. i remember it could cost anywhere from 1,000 to 2,000 zeny depending on who you asked for a warp - which in those times was a lot because like 90% of the players were under level 10.

Imo, Ragnarok is still the best game of all time when it comes to variety and complexity of items, equipment, classes, monsters, places and music. A good background music can make a game 100% better and memorable. And the gameplay was just so complicated and unfriendly for beginners, so that you were basically forced to get in touch with people and communicate or group up. It was a true multiplayer online game and you could tell the creators put love into every detail.

For real, it was amazing, specially regarding it's mechanics. I have yet to see an MMO that allows for such a diverse number of options regarding builds, since you have to take in consideration itens, cards, skills, point distribution... it was very well thought of, not only in its gameplay, but also in its art, music, design, and so on.

The only downside I ever had was, that there is no aggro system. First on a boss tanks. One of the reasons I switched to WoW back then. Aside from the insane grind :3

Ah, yes, the days of setting up my merchant before bed only to wake up the next morning to find that I sold nothing because a dead branch summoned a boss monster that wiped out the entire city =/

And then, even after they "fixed" that, there was a very long period when alchemists would use a technique for summoning monsters inside the cities... that was really fun and annoying at the same time xD

Listening to this again has a bittersweet feeling, but I just ignore Ragnarok and the memories it gave me 😢 Thank you Gravity for making such a masterpiece.
It takes me back to a time where there was a sense of wonder, seeing other players in the game and realizing these were all real people from all over the world doing the same thing as you. I still often visit music streams on youtube to feel this sensation. Everyone in the chat is doing the same as you: enjoying the music and having a good time.
I remember my mom dragging me by the ear just to stop me from playing Ragnarok. I wish I can always go back in that time where both of my parents were alive with me. This music makes me forget that I am now an orphan and it makes me feel that they are still with me.

The flood of memories are pouring in. I think this BGM was the most overplayed for me back in the day. I was a blacksmith and frequently set up shop in South Prontera selling random shit. Ahh the good ol' days.

I'm truly sad. I've never been able to really get into this game. Was too young when it was on it's peak, then the game was too fucked up when i had the age to play it consciously. But i just remember warping to Prontera, Morroc and other cities to just look around, listen to the songs, see the people talking, buffing, trading... I really feel like i missed all of what this game had to offer for me. Just like WoW. I remember getting mesmerized seeing the guys on my local cafe just getting bat shit crazy with the wars and stuff, my dream was to be part of this, but the game died before i could.

Same here, just discovered it in 2018, and stopped in 2021 (in novaRO). I am jealous of my fellow PH players who was able to play pRO (Philippine Ragnarok Online) back then. Good times for them, a delightful experience to others that i'll never experience once for a lifetime.
This is better than the mobile version of this theme.
