Glad to see a new video Rooster! Always looked forward to your content but I do know it's a lot of work on top of a lot of work! You are unequivocally one of the best metal artists and should have way more followers. Great work! Unless someone has done anything to create art from raw or repurposed metal they have NO idea what it takes - your vision is extraordinary! Please keep sharing, you're a constant inspiration to us little guys.
Thank you for your very kind word my friend, It's good to see someone who appreciates and understands just how much work goes into puting these vids together, the length of time trying to build a piece whilst remembering to press record and get what your doing in shot without my hands or grinder in the way... i can build a lot quicker when im not filming to be honest... many thanks again for your support, I'll do my best to keep them coming ...Cheers :)
@@roosterscreations didn't want to write a book on this, but I have to share this with you- a handful of years ago I was commissioned to make a Viking Ship and the client wanted video of the whole build from soup to nuts. I spent more time dicking around with gopro and cel phone cameras to the point of distraction. For me it ruined the fun I have creating a piece of art and turned it into more work than enjoyment. The piece came out fantastic - about 16" hull and then 20" overall with the bow mast and head and stern tail I made, 12" wide with the oars, hand made Viking shields along the gunwale. 16" tall with mast and forced copper patina sail. I usually use sheet metal, brake line, and copper (love doing forced patina on copper!). Finished it off using various brass brushes to get a nice aged wood look. The piece came out fantastic - the client was completely clueless as to the amount of time put into the creation and was shocked when I told her in actuality I was working for about a buck an hour all told. Best part, she turned it down and as she did so a passerby (friend of hers) offered me 3x what the agreed upon price was. Sorry for the long tale here, but after watching all of your videos I know you can appreciate this story! Thanks again for the come-back comment 😁
@@oldshovelheadHi again , yes i can fully appreciate ! i i try to keep my prices as low as possible, but to be honest if it was all about the money, I certainly wouldn't be do this... I don't find the creating hard, but the recording and editing is another job alltogether. funny you should mention Vikings, i built a little viking figure yesterday, i will hopefully have him edited and uploaded next week at some point... many thanks again for your comment...cheers :)
Hi there, many thanks for your comment. I've still been creating my sculptures just not doing the filming...I've also got into wood turning and trying to learn as much of that as possible, not the usual bowl turning though, more the sculpture side of woodcraft.... thanks again for your support my friend 👨🏭👍
Hi there Keith, many thanks for your support... I know how it looks welding without a helmet. I've been doing this for long time now and although you can't see it I'm actually welding with my eyes closed...many thanks again 👨🏭👍
Another great job sir. My wife loves the scorpion I got from you for her birthday last year . She’s a Scorpio. I was just wondering, how much planning goes into what you do? Did you set out to do an owl for this video? Or do you just start putting stuff together until it starts to look like something? Just wondering have a good day
Hi there, first of all , thanks for your comment. Sometimes I'll go into my workshop with a clear idea of what i want to create, that doesn't mean it's going to happen. I might not find any pieces of metal that work for what i want to create at that time, so i will usually just go with the flow and see what comes naturally. The Owl was a commission piece for a friend therefore i know i have to create an Owl there and then. It's hard to explain but I work in shapes, i break down what it is im building into shapes in my head, so i'm looking in my scrap boxes for shapes that fit together to create what im looking for... If that makes any sense ??? Many thanks again for your support.. take care :)
@@roosterscreations yes it was helpful. I would love to be able to do this kind of stuff. But I swam to have some kind of short circuit in my brain. Lol. I can watch someone do something and just know “ok now he need to do this or that” but when I try to do something I can’t even imagine where to start! Anyway love your videos. Keep it up.
