- This was a school project I had to cut down to 10 minutes, so some bits may seem a bit fast paced.
I decided to have fun with it and remake one of my all time favorite episodes (Yes I know, so generic to remake it, shut up)
Huge thanks to Shadophy for making Peter Sam, Tubular and Unhelpful Git for making the large scale faces for Duncan and Peter Sam, and Unhelpful Git For Making Duncan and the slate truck log loads.
And massive credit and thanks to SudrianRails and Q1Con for making the mine engine!

The agony and the unfathomable sadness in the broken, dented, rotted ghost of the mine engine, talking like his throat is rusted through, combined with the music shows the tragedy of his situation. The constant physical and mental pain from his heavily damaged form and knowing that all he wants is to return to the home he spent most of his working life in, only to die the first time he left and that no one can set him free.
Indeed.

I like the idea of Peter Sam having an uneasy feeling of a strange place he had never heard of before and then having a sudden ghostly encounter and sir Handel teasing him for it before he too has an encounter himself in said location.
I'm lost for words. Coupled with that deep choir cover of the theme, this is one of the most intense takes on Duncan actually seeing the ghost.... defiantly spooked the hell out've me to.
That is by far the best adaptation of this story that I’ve ever seen! I didn’t expect that plot twist with Duncan actually seeing the ghost at all! Great work!
Mate that was an outstanding adaptation, the attention to detail, the consistency, the characters, everything was stellar. also love how the ghost engine has a crew as a ghost, but doesn’t when it has it’s demise. I know that’s probably an error, but it gave me a chuckle. and great voice acting to. Just absolutely amazing, got chills when I actually saw the ghost engine.
This is the most realistic reimagining of Duncan Gets Spooked. It both denies and confirms the existence of the ghost engine, and I love that.
Even after 23 Years ALMOST EVERY TIME, the story of the old iron bridge is told with the accompanying music I get goosebumps after hearing it. This version REALLY ramped up the creep factor. Watching this on 9/8/22 gave my TWO incidents of goosebumps.
I absolutely love the ending shot, a nice reference to the recently revealed deleted scenes from the episode!
Amazing adaptation of the episode! The music at 8:21 seriously gave me the chills. Brought back so much nostalgia of being terrified of this episode yet loving it so much.

The lighting was what sold me, especially the night scenes. This was a fantastic adaptation of Duncan Gets Spooked.
That was an awesome adaptation. I loved the extra parts you put in and Rusty with a girl's voice was a bonus. The ghost engine was spooky and I didn't expect the extra part at the end.
Outstanding work Kiwi! Your Narration is so great!, I love the fog for some shots and the models look fabulous! Shadophy, Tubular, and Unhelpful Git did a splendid job! Please keep up the good work, i hope you make more videos in the near future!

This version of Duncan gets spooked is the best of all of all the remakes so far. Especially when the ghost ancient appeared from out of the fog I felt like I was about to faint. Nice job man.
I really like how it may be that Duncan actually did see some thing but the fact that the driver or fireman weren’t even seeing it though they were looking right ahead we’re Duncan was is actually really amazing.

The lighting, the SFX, the music cues, the cinematography. You really nailed the vibe of the original episode! I love the little changes you did, especially the identity or the Ghost Engine. Wish I got to do this kinda stuff back in high school lol. 10/10

Did Duncan's crew REALLY not see that specter? Your version of the story does seem more involved with more details. I especially liked the inclusion of an actual ghost. That damaged mine engine model looked awesome. If only we could see more of it, just to get a full scope of it's details.
Awesome! Loved all the deleted scenes included in this, the atmosphere, and the switch between the large scale Peter Sam and Duncan just like in the episode!
Dude, the scary element of this is better than the original story.

What a frightfully entertaining adaptation! You certainly made it yours which I appreciate, and cudos to referencing the deleted scenes of the original episode.
Love the adaptation of this I love how the lighting looked through the whole thing like seriously it's impressive how far trainz has come also I love how this was a combination of the original version, the stuff we got with the be deleted scenes drop , and a little bit of your own stuff just comes to show it might be the same story but still always is different

I love how is switches from large scale models, to small scale models. Just like the show did with there narrow gauge engines.
I like how like the actual episode you used a mix of the large scale and small scale narrow gauge models, most people would of skipped that but you didn't lovely touch m8

One slight problem... Kinda hoped that Duncan's drivers realized that the Actual ghost isn't part of the prank anymore, and they also get Spooked.

While I don't like all the changes, like the way that the trucks fell of the bridge ( which I understand was the best you could do) and rusty's voice, I like Skarloey telling the story and Mr. Percival being in charge. I especially like the story of atlas and not just some rando with no name, and Duncan really seeing the ghost.
It's not Atlas. It's the mine engine.
I would have made the first engine outline actually flicker through all of the fireflies in a few seconds rather than showing them all as the outline immediately but omg this is cool! XD

This is my hands down all time favourite adaptation of DGS esp. b/c there's an ACTUAL ghost who we (and Duncan) get to encounter in the flesh.
