Great video. I bought a 2022 cb125f and it’s been parked up since August. I only got my CBT Sept and it’s only done 11 miles since new. Looking forward to venturing out as you have shown. Pure bliss.

That looked like a nice run up the A46... As someone who has been living away from the UK for 50+ years, it would have been nice to see where you were on the road and be able to read the road signs, instead of spending a lot of time looking at your knees and the fuel tank. That said, I could recognise some of the places, but only just. Perhaps you could change the camera angle upwards a bit, so that we could see more? Good luck with your riding; it's something we never stop learning. I'm still doing that, even after 63 years!

Picking mine up next Wednesday March 1st. It's been 20 years since I rode a bike, I'm sure it will all come back to me. How have you found the honda.??? I can't wait...

Super excited for you. I’m sure it’ll feel amazing to be back on 2 wheels after so long! The CBF is a lovely little bike. Very forgiving of any mistakes you may make while getting back to grips with things. And surprisingly comfortable for a 125! I can ride her for hours before fatigue kicks in.

I got exact same bike as you, when changing up gear are you coming off throttle, clutch in, change gear, clutch out, back on throttle or are you adding throttle as you release your clutch? Same as downshifting, are you off the throttle, clutch in, change gear, clutch half way out then change down to gear 1 if needed or are you adding any throttle at all when downshifting?
    Sorry if this is confusing

Great little bikes aren’t they! When changing up I tend to add a little throttle before the clutch is fully re-engaged. Especially changing up to 2nd or 3rd as I find the amount of engine braking on this bike is very high in those lower gears so a little throttle as the clutch engages helps to smooth her out a little. With downshifts I tend to do as you said but let the clutch out nice and gently as I still haven’t gotten the knack of rev matching using the throttle yet. But that is a skill I am practicing. Again, 0 throttle in 3rd or lower I find has allot of engine breaking. Equivalent to a boot-full of back break.

@@taydan04 Thank you for replying, they are amazing bikes I’m trying to get the hang of changing gears smoothly so thought I’d ask. Thank you again.

@@hollywood3936 yeah. I have a vid on the channel of my first time riding her after just completing my CBT. I was not smooth at all at first. You’ll get it. It’s all about getting the friction zone of the clutch in to muscle memory and practicing moving the clutch lever and throttle as smoothly as possible. I found this bike to have wayyyy more engine braking than the ones I did my cbt on which can make using the lower gears (especially 1st) smoothly a bit of a challenge. But you’ll get there I’m sure. Ride safe and let me know how it goes! :)

I’ve had mine a month today. It’s been 30 years since I last rode a bike can honestly say I wish they would bring back 2 strokes. These cb125s are very boring and slow. Wish I’d got the Kawasaki z125.
