Ryan, I've seen the news about the floods in Rwanda! Are your hosts and helpers from your journey okay? Perhaps you could set up a little donation page to help those impacted by the flooding there. ❤‍🩹

As an expat in Rwanda (Ryan shows up in my village about 28:30) I will testify that all the good things he has to say about Rwanda are true. The safest, cleanest, friendliest, most beautiful of East African countries (and I've been in a few).

I live in southwestern Pennsylvania. There are many hillsides here that trash was dumped down the side of. I am jealous of the responsibility that Rwandans have toward keeping their country clean.

Speaking as a non-mountain biker, those downhill scenes are amazing! My favorite is when Cali (sp?) is saying "No Crashies! No Whammies!" over and over. And, of course, the kids are so funny. A white guy on a bike is a big deal in their little villages. 🙂 Ryan, the video is awesome. Thanks for a great series. Lovin' it!

posted this on my wall. Thank you very much Ryan.
I've been watching Ryan Van Duzer on his bike adventures since days with covid-19 as most of us staying at home. And I love how he advocates bicycles and his solo adventures on bike packing mostly in America.
Yesterday, I watch his adventure in Rwanda. He was invited by Rwanda - a small country in Africa - a poor country compared to the Philippines, to encourage more Rwandan people to use bikes and highlight the country on Ryan's channel on youtube.
In 2008, Rwanda banned the use of plastic bags to protect the environment. You cant enter the country in plastic bags with you. At the airport hand luggage before disembarking and any plastic bags (including plastic duty-free shopping bags and the transparent plastic bags that some airlines require passengers to use for keeping liquids, cosmetics, etc) should be left on the plane.
With that, I am already amazed by this country and to think they are poor and maybe corruption is eating their resources, I am kind of surprised seeing the video of Ryan on his whole 280 kilometers of bike journey with his guide on the Congo Nile Trail which the route will pass on Lake Kivu passing different communities and markets.
If you have time to watch, please watch his 3 parts video on this journey and comment here if you noticed trash (like what we usually see in our country) especially plastics along this whole journey.

Fabulous short rendition completely on key of TOTO's God bless the rains in Africa, so good I had to put your video on hold and quickly journey back to my very early 20's and the songs release date of 10/1982 to view and listen to the TOTO's original video 👍 thank you.
Hmmm, "it's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you" would be a fitting next or last title to your final Africa adventures video series, or maybe "there's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do".

It's easy to understand why the kids all find you fascinating and I'm sure they are out there waiting on you long before they ever see you. Small villages like that will send word ahead letting everyone know a white guy is coming through with a black guy on bikes. In these first three Rwandan episodes I don't think I've seen one other white person so it really is a treat for the kids to see you come through. Some may have never seen a white person before.

The government mandated trash pickup days in Rawanda which locals are forced to participated in have something to do with the trash free environment too. You can search for stories. It's good and bad imo. Rawanda seems a little like Singapore (maybe even modeled after singapore) - the happiest police state in Africa. People acquiesce in attempt to improve life and harmony with each other, but sacrifice personal freedoms in that pursuit.

You really don’t need one, it’s very well marked.

Have you met bicyclists that you can't put a smile on their face?

Yes it is a beautiful landscape. But there is something missing, the crowds of people seen, this country cannot be all children with so few adults approaching the camera.
Did you see many snakes while there? Were you given restriction by your sponsors on subjects and dangers not to be mentioned?

    • @duzer
      @duzer  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I didn’t see any snakes, too bad, because I love them. And the tourist board had no control over my content. They wanted me to make them as I make any video. There were plenty of adults around, they’re just more reserved than the kids

Sad we do not have a collective responsibility to keep our own country clean.

This is the fifth time I have asked this and the forth time I have not received an answer. It is quite simple. No flatties...easy to understand. No Crashes...yep I get it. But what the F is no whammies? I have been very patient and a loyal follower, it would be nice to have an answer.

Sorry to keep you hanging, not sure how I missed 4 other comments…anyway. A whammy is anything unexpected and bad. Use your imagination….a rockslide…a swarm of murder hornets…getting struck by lightning…having your bike stuck in customs 😂

I love that there is no litter. What will it take for Americans to be respectful of the environment and not throw trash everywhere?

I like you, Ryan, but I've noticed the lack of real conversations. Just saying it's awesome in one way or the other all the time doesn't cut it for me in such long videos.

@@duzer I'm sorry, I am not sure what I wanted, probably expecting way too much from a travel video. I want to say I love your videos and you as a person. Sorry for being... that way.
