Speaker : Nouman Ali Khan - A bit about him
Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah. His first exposure to Arabic study was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he completed his elementary education. He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until ’06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. Currently he has dedicated himself to a seven-year-long project, of conducting a linguistic & literary focus Qur’anic Tafseer series in English. Salaam Alaikum, I am in desperate need of your advice. The case is that whenever I hear about Allah and how he is the all great, all powerful and all these things, my heart has this sour taste as if I’m rejecting Allah and being a practicing Muslim, I don’t want to die and stand in front of Allah only to find out that all my years of worship is meaningless because of this feeling of rejection that I have in my heart when I hear about his greatness. I ask of your help in removing this feeling from my heart. jazakallah khair
Waalaikum assalaam, it is possible that you have this feeling because you see Allah as a dictator rather than a guardian. When you see someone as a dictator you don't have a personal relationship or connection with that person. It would just be the person giving orders, the person showing power and you obeying due to that power. But, When you see someone as a guardian it's a whole different case. My advice to you is know Allah's names and live by them. How do you live by them? you'll know when you will call upon his specific name(quality) suiting to your specific situation. Jazakallah khair.

@@Omzz_99 iA read more books on how allah is our friend and protects us for our own sake. The fact that you’re worried about your akhirah is beautiful. Keep moving forward towards Allah and iA when we’re all in the grave, you will thank yourself for the good deeds you’ve done.
Start cutting out whatever you think is haram in your life such as social media or friends you have. Slowly but surely you will find the beauty in Islam and Allah. It’s just that your ruuh (soul) is in need of food which is quran and dhikr. Maybe it’s been neglected for a long time, Idk but I hope you find your answer so it doesn’t cost you in the next life.

I am turning my life back to Allah but i keep thinking that no matter how much good deeds i do it never makes Allah happy and I'm desperate and afraid that i might have despaired in the mercy of Allah and i still don't know if Allah has accepted me or forgiven me and im confused
If your repentence is sincere Allah will forgive you in sha Allah he is most loving most forgiving.
how do I actually let go of shame and guilt though....... I tried some writing exercises
I am dealing with the same issue and I think the best answer is to try and be the best version of yourself because you can’t go back in time to change our actions. I feel intense guilt and regret for a lot of major things in my life and thats all i can do
