I definitely would have bought these ones:
    4:06 (Really nice pattern/shape)
6:19 or 13:45 Orange phals not so common locally for some reason 😒
9:34 Maybe for the fragrance? 🤔
11:15 Another one with a nice pattern 🥰
16:39 Don't have a Zygo yet so I probably would have gotten his one too. Especially since it has AOS on the label.
I usually combine my Mom's birthday and Mother's Day. 🤣
I have no problem reblooming noID phals. Still working on getting my summer bloomers (bellina/violacea) to maturity though.

Yes!! They had some nice odds and ends at The Orchid Station! Definitely a ways from CT but only 15 mins from Floradise Orchids if you want to combine stops! :)

Hi! Just found your videos and thanks for the beautiful views!
I live in VA and I am trying to save up and get myself the time to go to a local-ish nursery that I don’t have to be gone for more than a day to do so. However I would love to see a little more variety of orchids. I love primary hybrids and I’m pretty new to the hobby but my passion is an old soul variety! Haha.
Sorry for the long comment. Basically I was wondering since you seem to know first hand what each nursery is like beyond that of someone who just checks things out online…
Where would you reccommend of the places you know for VA
Thanks for your time and no pressure. (I just prefer direct experience opinions rather than online reviews.
Again… sorry for the novel. >_<

Hi Laura! Welcome to the channel! I’m glad you’re here! Happy to help! I would say Floradise Orchids or Chadwick & Sons Orchids would be your best bet for looking for a variety of orchids! Floradise has the most diverse selection so you would likely very much enjoy the visit! If you do visit, Let Janet and Stephen know that I sent you and they will help you find the best plants for your grow space! :) ENJOY!

That’s a great question that I am not sure of! But I can tell you I use orchid nerd slow release fertilizer on my phals and cattleyas.

there are probably more orchid myths in the hobby than orchid growers😄 Phals are seasonal growers. They bloom according to the seasons and you can grow them at a set semperature all year long, it will not be detrimental to flowering. I have grown mine temperature controlled all year and tried the temperature drop. Completely overrated myth. But some people do like to feel like they are doing something beneficial even if it doesn't actually do anything for them. If that makes them happy then so be it. Temps above 26 degrees will inhibit flowering. Perfect temps are 18-26 degrees C. They can tolerate down to 15 degrees C but it will slow them down.

Thanks for the comment, Tom! Mine bloomed with the natural temp drop/rise of my home too! :)
