I appreciate you reviewing my car Zack! The only notable thing I've done as of late is give the car a proper exhaust, and got rid of that awful rice pipe. Magnaflow muffler with a DC Sports tip. Sounds much more subtle.

@@mrdave777 I hate to tell you my man, I bought the damn car like that! Lmao. The little buttons are a cute band-aid fix from the small car lot I bought it from. Gonna have to pull the entire headliner. As far as I've seen, this happens to every 7th Gen, but there's a ton of ways to fix it. You can replace the entire thing as an assembly, or pull the old one, remove the old nasty headliner and re-glue & upholster it to your choosing.

@@louiei.1552 Dude, thanks so much for your prompt reply. I own an 06 TL, our cars are related! My headliner is drooping and thought that was a terrific idea. Not confident doing it myself and replacing is $300. Anywho, you have a great car. A terrific engine. And it’s manual!! Well played, thanks for sharing!

@@mrdave777 from what I can see, they just used a ton super short thread screws, and covered it with a fabric button cover. I appreciate your likeness for my car my man. It's just my daily. Owned it for 3 years. Bought it with 90k, now it has 142k as of today. As Zack said, it's basic maintenance. Oil changes, tires, brakes, did the belt & tensioner on my girlfriends car which is the same thing just an 07 auto EX-L. Gonna do mine whenever it starts making noise.

I love this car because I can not only rely on it but it goes over looked so I don't worry about being a target for theft. I’ve raced 2 of these in the backroads near my house at separate times. Once was with my s14 and another time in my current 08 Civic Si. Both times they were on my ass the entire time around corners. I was surprised at how well they handled for being a big sedan with a 4 banger. I’d imagine the v6 with a manual are monsters

I came from an ek as my very first car, bought this when I was 19 and have owned it for 3 years. They sort themselves out very well when "pushed to the limit," a lot less twitchy than my ek. Pretty sure it's just down to the more intricate suspension setup. The only gripe is a bit more body roll than a stock civic, but that's fixed with some coils. I put some nice tires on it, and frankly I've been more than happy with it like that. Can still take a corner going 60, and the accord won't even fight, it's rather encouraging through corners.

Dead switches aren't too bad of a thing ^-^
I had a 6th gen LX. Picked up a sunroof control switch from the junkyard, and wired it up to a starter kill, just in case anyone wanted to take my car.
It'd look perfectly original, so long as they didn't think too hard about the fact that my car didn't have a sunroof. And two of the buttons had to be pressed. One for the immobilizer system, and one for the starter kill.
New car is a 1st gen Fit Sport. It'll be hard to find something that looks original, since as far as I'm able to tell, they didn't have any switches that could go there. (No sunroof, fog light switch is on the blinker stalk, no idea of any other options)
With the car being newer though, I expect the immobilizer system to be advanced enough compared to my first car, to make it hard enough to steal.

I have a 2007 accord mechanically it’s super reliable but if you live where there is pot holes the suspension will leave the chat. This one you’re showing is actually the “special edition “ which is a lx with ex features that has the steering wheel controls for the radio aluminum rims 6 disc cd changer, and sometimes but very rarely they may have a sunroof. The way to make the rear end look more appealing is getting the Hybrid tail lights it cleans it up . These things can have no oil in them and they’ll still run like a scalded ape. My complaints about it are the drivers seat could go back more and the trunk could’ve been better supported when parked on an incline. With mine you have to watch or it’ll knock you in the head. Things I like most about it are it can get out of its own way, the cruise control will maintain the set cruising speed even going down hill if it’s set to 60mph and above, they handle very well for a fwd car on corners, and you can find parts for them even at salvage yards even new parts are relatively cheap even oem on some parts isn’t horribly expensive. 7th gen was one of the best gens of the accord ever made.

I've seen a number of these Accords (and the 6th generation) having suspension issues. It's so bad here that most people who buy used cars avoid the Accord and go for the Camry instead. The major suspension issue is that the ball joints break and leave the driver stranded on the road. The same year Civic doesn't have that issue strangely.

Video had me with nostalgia. I had a 1993 LX full stock which I bought as my first car. Manual and yes I burnt the clutch. But boy we were kings of the road during lockdown as I worked for Amazon and y'all were buying every little thing for the apocalypse. Bought a 2017 civic as I had to sell my Accord and boy the fit and finish, quality, is just worse. Still reliable. That civic is a manual too. Been owning it for 3 years and after 2 accidents still rolls straight down the road. I guess this gen is the perfect bridge between old Honda and newer Honda without the newer cheaper Honda if it makes sense

I can reply to this, as I owned a 8th gen Civic and drove a 7th gen Accord long term. The Civic was great, but underpowered and much more cheaply made than the Accord. The Accord had a feeling of substance and confidence that the Civic lacked. I like to pay attention to the older cars on the road, to see which have survived over the years. Have to say, I don't see many 8th gen Civics on the road anymore, but I do see older Accords. Anecdotal, I know (especially with all the old GM's on the road), but just something I've noticed.

@@jpm408 the 7th gen does not ride better than the 8tb gen. For handling, yeah it's lighter but the 8th gen coupe handles very well, it's close to the size of the 7th gen sedan. Honda definitely didn't cut any costs, it's a quality lasting interior. The newer junk they make is what cuts costs.

I had a 2007 Accord and I wish it wasn't an absolute POS. The reason for that was I bought mine in 2016 from someone that was selling it on this app called 5 Miles it had 91k miles for $3000 and the seller advertised it having a clean title. I found out a week after purchasing the car it had a salvage title. Long story short by the time I sold it in June 2018 for $1500 I had spent $2800 in repairs and the car still had issues that would've cost more than what is was worth. Makes wish I would've bought that 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis I saw and test drove the week before.

I don't think they have been since the 5th generation Accord. Especially considering the numerous transmission issues most of their cars had in the 90's.

I would have to get leather. The cloth in the 7th gen is awful and the seats are hard.
