As a fan Keith Whitley's passing touched my heart. He was so young with so much to live for. I really wish he could have overcome his battle with alcoholism. I know he tried to quite admirably. From the interviews where his family is with him,or he is speaking of them he looked like such a down to earth family man. It takes a very big heart to accept a child as your own so this speaks to the love he had to give. I hope his now grown children have at least a few fond memories of him. They were quite young when he passed. My heart broke when I saw an interview his mother gave about the morning he passed. They had just spoken about 30 minutes beforehand. When her other son called to tell her Keith was gone she asked, "where? ". She then assumed it must have been a car,or motorcycle accident. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child. They are supposed to bury us not the other way around. God Bless her for keeping his memory alive, and displaying his memorabilia. I always enjoyed the bluegrass spin he put on his songs. He played like the greats used to,and now he is one of them. I think the first Keith Whitley song I heard was "Miami My Amy", but my favorite is "I'm No Stranger To The Rain". It gives you encouragement that whatever storm you face you can come through. I wish Keith could have. I pray he has found peace.

The very first song I’ve heard of Keith Whitley was I’m No Stranger To The Rain. I loved his voice and he sure could sing. So sad he passed away at such a young age and didn’t realize how good of a singer he really was. I am so happy he finally will be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame. This is something that should have happened years ago. That’s how good of a singer he really was. RIP Keith Whitley 🙏🏻🕊

1st song I heard of Keith's was Miami My Amy. It was a rainy day here when the news he passed came on my radio. I remember it. I have Lorrie's book Forever Yours Faithfully where she goes into their relationship and Keith's death. A group of fans have been trying to raise money to replace his headstone with an angel monument with both Lorrie and Jesse Keith donating items to bid on. If I remember right Kenny Rogers helped after Keith died including paying for the double headstone. Forever Yours Faithfully is from the Journey song Keith played for Lorrie.

I have a few questions. How long had he been sober before the day he died? I have read that they found 24 empty cans of beer in the house. When did he get the beer? I would think Lorrie would not have let him keep beer in the house. So, his brother in law evidently thought that Keith was in an okay frame of mind when he left. I have read they had breakfast and planned on playing golf later. It would be very difficult for anyone to drink 24 cans of beer in an hour even an alcoholic. I have read they suspect that he drank a bottle of mouthwash and two bottles of hairspray also. I understand we are talking about addiction and alcoholism but it all just don’t add up. Also, the corrupt medical examiner. Did his brother in law bring him the beer? I am not insinuating anything just have questions. It would appear to me that he tried to drink his self to death. A lot changed in an hour. If you have anymore info that might help me understand please share. Thanks for your video. I’m no stranger to the rain.
