Almost Bought A Nissan 350Z With A BLOWN ENGINE!!

- Today we are in search of the first project car for the channel! I am very eager to buy a Nissan 350Z for my first project car! I think after seeing today's car that the budget needs to go back up to around $10K for one that's in good condition mechanically. All the cosmetic and interior parts we can do, but I would like a sound engine that I can turbo and get some power out of. After driving one for the first time today, I am ready to find one. Let me know if you see any for sale!!
After looking closer at this cheap Nissan 350Z, it definitely has some issues! Motor is leaking in many aspects and the body work and interior is pretty rough. I really don't want to buy a cheap Nissan 350Z that has a blown engine. Then a twin turbo kit will blow up the engine even more!

The 350z/ G35 is slowly becoming the new 240sx. Needs body work, project car, high mileage and needs some work drift car. Your biggest concern is the oil leak not the enormous rattling coming from the front cover lol?
Definitely go with the Z Chasis. Doesn’t matter what motor you have DE or HR. Those cars are really fun to mod and drive!
Price will be a big factor if I do go with an 06 or older. But I'm finding 03-08 all similar prices. So I might as well get the second gen. We'll see

I bought mine for $3600 with 102,000 miles and maintenance all done at the Nissan dealership,also came with a carbon fiber wing💯

I say get a G35 cause they will be cheaper and in better condition. Maybe a rsx type s? Those are very cheap and cool little cars. Maybe a Frs 🤷🏽♂️ finding an HR 350 manual will be hard and expensive 😭
G35s are the same Infiniti is owned by Nissan and uses Nissan parts.

There is a 350z automatic by me with 150k miles, needs bodywork and wont start. He wants $1500, I may pull the trigger.
Get an affordable 86/BRZ. Lots of mods. The chase of making a slow and sporty car into a boosted monster is what it’s all about.
If that G35 is a manual you should consider getting that.

The 350z is a great car
350Z hr all the way. They are almost as fast as 370Z
IssaSlowZ yeah, but for a project to beat on, a DE is much better way to go because HR 350z's are still pretty expensive

My friend sold his 2007 HR and got an 2003 DE with low mileage send it to a shop for stroker kit and twin turbo's its now an 4 Liter engine and makes 600whp at the moment

Got an 03 bought it new it's got 121 thousand miles on it and it still drives like its new and I'm gonna drive it till the wheels fall off.
My dad and I have a dealer and he can look for a really good 350z or 370z for a really good price so If you are interested just let me know

You can set the shift light with the buttons on the gauge cluster.
I bought a 08 350z 2 months ago and it was so worth it. Bought it for 7300, which is great for an HR. Has some cosmetic damage, but nothing bad. Mechanically it’s perfect and drives so nice. Love taking it on long drives and windy roads.
Check that Clutch Slave Cylinder on both of those! Or if signs of going bad...Interesting to see you examine the cars. £5grand with all those issues seems steep for the first car.

check out the bug eye wrx and convert it to a jdm sti. tj, evan and adam have worked on the 350z. if you could, copart a bmw 335i or get a clean title one

First 350z was in a wreck stay away
That 350Z was an '05 Revved-up DE, you can tell because it said REV on the tachometer, but still looked like the '03-'04 obviously since '06 is when they updated headlights, tails, interior and front bumper. Basically I'm saying that car has 300bhp stock, not 287bhp like '03-'04 and '05 automatic. Essentially it's an '06 without the looks of one. I'm surprised no one else noticed this.

Great video guys!!! Make sure to check and make sure that the parts are good, on your Nissan Nissan before you buy it, my uncle took me Nissan looks good but they have Cheap parts. What Car dealer did you use to work at?

I’m a little biased but I think you should get the G35 sitting next to the Z... so long as its manual. G35 coupes are generally cheaper, have backseats, look better IMO, and shares the same aftermarket as the Z. Do it!!
The G has too much 'luxury' for me and it's too big for what I'm looking for

Stay away. Buy a 07 and newer HR model engine one. That engine has a major tick and it has issues. Especially if you can find a nismo 350z 07-08.
KillaBandit those are still too expensive. "Worst" 350z engine I find is the 05-06 rev ups. Oil consumption issues etc

I wouldn’t buy that Z due to low fluid and ticking but:
-Can adjust rev light
-Tach bounce normal but also possibly letting go of clutch quickly
-Front crank seal if you are talking about that is a 30 minute fix btw

2006 350z with the uprev engine is fantastic but the best is definitely the 2007 and 2008 350z. I highly recommend the car!

Both are great options! Test drive them both and see what feels better for you

In Florida you could get one in great condition and an HR for like 7k or less and in good condition so I would consider coming to Florida more specific to Miami.... and I recommend in Facebook in the marketplace. A zip code that you can use is 33155. Hope this works for you Guys.

Bros FOURR Speed yeah i got my 07 for 6000 is stock but I got a great deal I had to put a new slave cylinder and clutch and master cylinder but that is just something that every 350Z needs. And if you need any help around Miami let me know.
Go for an 07-08 Z, I had a 2006 DE rev up and went to the HR platform and the difference in power is crazy. I keep up with most V8’s, I only have 3 bolt ons. IG: goblinz33
