Great Videos, on the lower heat shield you can bend the lower tab around the pipe and it will fit. Might save some time over cutting it in half. Those pipes look GREAT considering the price and sound good. I paint my shield in the center also. CHP are making repops of the K1 & Newer bikes.
Great build Mike. I really can’t believe how well that orange paint came out. I went back vids, and saw what it looked like on your work table. So much rust looking. That WD40 does a great job. Hey Mike love your videos……they are really informative….I know this is a stupid question…..but how do these new Icebear champions semi-automatic’s shift……is four up…then four down…or one down 3 up…instructions aren’t very good.
If it’s a bike with turn signals, the battery helps with them flashing. If your bike doesn’t have signals, you can get away without a battery to power lights.
Would like your advice. I have a basket case 77 just like yours. It's a low mileage bike but missing motor and and seat and exhaust. My question is, I'm thinking of re-creating my first bike as a kid. It was a Ko ruby red. Would that be a mistake to make that drastic change? Anybody?
I personally like to stay as original as possible, but they’re becoming so hard to find, if you want to recreate your memories, I’d say go for it. Mike converted a china clone bike in his old series that was almost a spot-on for a K0. That could be a possibility and you could keep the 77 original. 😎

I’ve installed over 60 Lifan 125’s…..never had to touch one yet, they run great out of the box.

It’s a 12v of the original 6v bulb. That’s what I love about the 12v swap, nice bright lights.

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve ridden mine, but my memory says the Icebear is 4 down. Starting in neutral, you shift down to go from 1st to 4th.

No mods to frame. Engine is a direct bolt-in.

If you’re building it to keep, I say go for it. If you’re building the bike to sell and make a profit, you’d be better off keeping it original.

Do you use a Chinese carburetor or a genuine one?
On every Lifan engine I buy, I buy the complete set, which includes a carburetor.
@@MiniBikeMike My carb does not have any adjustment at t he top. I will either have to shorten the cable or thread in with a die a 90 degree adjuster.
Sounds like you have a cable that has too much cable to sheath ratio. I’ll measure one of mine tomorrow and give you measurements.
