Look at getting a MTB system as they're recessed a bit into the sole and are easier to walk in. Two bolt holes in the shoe, not three, and usually double sided pedals, though crank bros do a pedal that clips on one side and is platform on the other, so you can ride with flat shoes as well, but on fixed you'd still need a strap on that side. If you want some decent looking street shoes you can try get chrome x panaracers or adidas velosambas that are cleat compatible

its the feel, you are one with the bike. If your legs move the bike moves. Its almost like riding a manual car vs automatic.Even though the manual is outdated its much more fun.
