Don't worry about Slavkovsky. He will learn. My concern is: will he get enough ice time in the NHL or would it be better to give him a few months in the AHL? Whatever it will be I trust MSL
Dude, if Juraj can't completed is pass in neutral zone is because he was playing with low tier offensif players on the 4th. It was always dump and chase the puck!
Interesting. I thought the same thing (without the statistical evidence). I thought Slaf looked like he seemed comfortable in both the offensive and defensive zone, but semed not to know what to do when carrying through the neutral zone. He often made nice plays in the O zone, and battled well to retrieve loose pucks and create turnovers...problem was he was always paired with different linemates and there was no chemistry there to take advantage of them!
For Christ sake ! Slaf got minimal minutes and was constantly bouced from one line to the next in favour of underwhelming " vets ". If they had put him with consistant linemates in a lost season and let him develope he would probably have done better. Despite some good trades the spector of screwing up this talenred young player just like before is starting to show.
Talk of rushing any player into the NHL in their draft year is not a good idea ...Kids need to play in their own age group while growing and developing ...So I shake my head when people who follow the team think Popcorn should/could/might be put on the Hab team in his draft year ..
It’s scary how you can compare Slafs skating with the puck to how Lindros did! Both big heavy men with their heads down! We know what happened to #88 career and if he doesn’t learn to keep his head up, his career will be short too!
Ever watched Swiss National 'league games? They call roughing penalties for pushing a forward out of the crease no sticks involved just a push..Rheinbacher may need to toughen up to play in NA.
It was clear even before the draft that Reinbacher was going to play in Switzerland and get his school diploma before playing in North America in24/25. He is going to come to training camp and go back overseas. Why do you keep saying he may be making the team this year? Hot wind and that’s it
Slaf ? It was a big mistake to put Slaf into the NHL in his draft year ...He wasn't used to playing in North America and had several new major areas in life and hockey that he had to learn all at one time ..Habs also made the same mistake with Chucky and KK ..........Actually Slaf should be put in Laval this year until after Christmas ..
Even just saying the words about this 18yr old defensmen playing in the nhl especially with a weak ass habs team in front of him would be disastrous for him. Let him grow in Europe an play minutes,.plenty of minutes. Dont ruin the kid before hes ready. What am i saying this is the habs way, play him, screw him up and watch him leave.
Guys.... Slafovokovsky was NOT successful.... he was Favoured due to number 1 overall. Now Owen Beck was successful. He was the best Rookie last year. Slaf was just not FIT enough. He was consistently huffing and puffing TRYING to keep up with REAL MEN.... habs did him no favours last year. I never saw Slaf adapt..... he did the same things over and over. Guys you cann0t say he is understanding the game better... he was HURT in game 39... Lets be fans.... but lets not be FAN BOYS I will keep saying it Slaf s handling was a colossal mistake by the habs last year. Wright was handled perfectly. Slaf needed time to mature... he should have gone back to Europe. Now people will say that is hindsight... nope i said it first time i saw him huffing and puffing in Rookie camp. Now we will be patient. this year... 1 whole year in AHl would be wise
Nope. Wright isn’t good enough. And will top out as decent 2nd centre. We will see how he does. Hughes said it’s not what Slaf is now, it’s where he will be in 2 to 3 years. I do agree we could have been patient last year with some AHL time. But this season if he shows improvement, he deserves to say.
@@komirules 2nd line center is dam good And his development this year was handled very very well Wrights first year ELC was not burnt He played World Junior He got OHL TIME HE GOT AHL PLAYOFF TIME HE GOT NHL TIME HE played in the summer rookie camp right after AHL HE got soooo much proper development Slaf skated through 39 games with his head down and got blasted It makes me sad to see as a Hab fan He is soooo far behind
@@rickbengle5240 I don't know how far Slaf is behind, but I agree and said it myself several times that Slaf's first year has been botched by the Montreal Canadiens...Indeed, Wright got a much better first year of development, Slaf had no business being in the NHL last season...!!!
There seems to be too many question marks involving this guy and when that happens chances are that they'll be a bust or mediocre at best as opposed to becoming a star... Sorry but if had to bet one way or another at this very minute either a star or not, I would have to bet the latter :-///
As much as i want him to be good, i am not filled with delusions, i always knew that this wasnt the right pick, shane Wright might not have had as good of a season, but he shows flashes of greatness while slafkovsky doesnt show anything. He probably will end up being a KK. Sure, Wright was sent down to the ohl, but where else could he have gone to? He cant play a full season in the ahl due to certain rules. They handled his situation way better than the habs did with slaf
Every other game is Slaf's best game because he is improving so fast. I'm excited to see him play

Keep your head up Slaf and you will just fine. Your are one year older and stronger, let's show the fans you deserved to be # 1 pick.( Go Habs GO )

good idea for defender to play a year or so in AHL? develop team defense and transition offense?

Theres no Scott Stevens in the league anymore

ice time + line 4 be realist.

He can also make his diploma online. If he is good enough in rookie camp, why wouldn't he play for mtl?
Because he is eighteen and not ready
Put Slavkovski on the 2nd line! Let him and Dach roll
Slafkovsky develop team defense, play without puck?

Wait till Slafsquatch finally grows a beard.
send Reinbacher back to Europe--- Period... Lets not duplicate the Slaf distaster
We do it year after year brev, its always a disaster
