I'm not familiar with the word "cluith". However, "cluth" (pronounced "cloo") means snug or comfortable. Its comparative form is "cluithe" which is pronounced "cloo-yuh". That's the closest thing I can think of.
Nice to find out what you actually look like. What convinced you to give up the anonymity? I've always found the process of how loanwords make their way into languages and how they mutate over time rather fascinating.

@@AnFithich yes indeed Vìölėt, I wish too. Duolingo is excellent because you can tap on any word and hear the Gaelic word immediately. Then again immediately. I did a lot on it but got so madcat being heldcto ransom by spelling tests. I came to speak my language, not do a scholar course. If you don't get the spelling right, you can't go on to next. So I turned off. Anyway the proper speaking is on ABC. Real Gaelic speakers. Without that . . There's not the magic of Scottish Gaelic. BUT. the fly in the ointment. When you click on the word or phrase it doesn't instantly say it like duolingo. And you re click you have to wait ages clicking and clicking till it plays again. Still it's the best. You should do "learning our language". All the basics as slow as you like. Jason is awesome . . and beautiful 😘 . . You should go to his lesson 1. Hes from Maine. Loves the Highlands and the language. Went there with his Harp over his shoulder and lived on the islands learning the language. He's a qualified teacher. My cat knows all my Gaelic commands 😃 😀

Do you think Scottish English should count as it is a form of English that uses a lot of Gaelic words?
