Correction: Steve Allen's grave is just to the left of where I pointed the camera (lot 1725). Sorry, it's tough when they're unmarked.

Hollywood Graveyard why are they unmarked? Do you know why people request that?

    • @HollywoodGraveyard
      @HollywoodGraveyard  7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

Sometimes it's requested, sometimes families don't have the money, other times they just never get around to it.

Dick Van Dyke did Stan's eulogy at FL. He even quoted Stan as saying, "If anyone of you cries at my funereal, I will never speak to you again."

Just to the left of Stan Laurel marker is the grave site of Ray Collins who played Lt. Tragg on Perry Mason. If you turn around and walk approximately 100 ft. or so, you'll find the grave site of William Talman who played D.A. Hamilton Burger of Perry Mason as well.

John Ritter's grandfather, James, was the older brother of my Aunt Ida's grandfather, William. It's interesting to see the grave of a man I admired as an actor and who just so happens to be a very distant relative thru marriage.

In a relatively short amount of time, you have amassed a treasure trove of work which has provided enjoyment and education to so many people. Actions speak louder than words and when your viewers are watching your videos throughout their daily lives (as do I), well, that speaks for itself. Each viewer has their own reasons for watching your videos (i.e., the background music, your expressive voice, the extraordinary presentation of information, visiting a certain cemetery or deceased celebrity of their interest, etc.). Perhaps this is what makes your videos so great; they offer so much to so many different viewers. This may very well be the height of achievement for one's work.

    Re: William Conrad
He played Marshall Matt Dillon on the radio series of Gunsmoke.
Also, on an episode of the Carol Burnett Show he sang a ballad. The man had a rich baritone voice. It's too bad there aren't more recordings of him singing.

Wow ! those stunts you show of Keaton are mighty impressive even by todays standards..... Show me ONE actor of today that could do that or even ONE that would be willing to try. Buster used to spend summers in an area about an hour from where I live (Bluffton Neighborhood) in West MI.
It is absolutely phenomenal how many celebs are buried at Forest Lawn - I could watch your series all day !

A different time. Most studios, insurance companies, union rules and agents would not allow the real danger BK put into some of his most notable stunts. The falling house façade weighing more than a thousand pounds tumbling around him as he stood fixed to a spot where the open window would save him being the obvious.

Scatman Crothers got his name as a jazz musician. Scatting is when a singer improvises a vocal without actually using words (think "Wap bop a loo bop") He was a frequent quest on Variety and Talk shows in 70s. Most famous for Red Foxx buddy on Sanford and Son and Chico and the Man.

I was visiting Austin, Texas years ago. It was in the late 90s. I was a passenger in a car and we were driving by the Governor 's mansion and George Bush Jr. (who was the governor of Texas then) was having a party. We stopped at an intersection and David Carradine walked across the street in front of the car. That is it. That is my memory of the stars you visited in this episode.

That’d be cool, but forest lawn in general won’t even tell you where anyone is buried. Some cemeteries out here are a bit more accommodating, with more free spirited ideas, but forest lawn is more serious, they’re super awesome tho. Beautiful.

Highgate cemetery in London is a tourist attraction. They charge an entrance fee and offer guided tours of the oldest side. The money goes towards restoring the cemetery. It’s very popular. It’s also stunningly beautiful even though it still needs a lot of work doing on it.

I loved the comment "Nuff Said" on Bob Kane's Batman marker! Nuff said of course being Stan Lee's (of comic book rival Marvel) iconic line!

Bert Convy was Paul Revere on Bewitched, and he played an art thief in the TV show Charlie's Angel's. Mr. Dark didn't list the cause of death, but if I'm not mistaken he had a brain tumour.

The Penn and Teller one bugged me. Here I am following along, paying belated respects to entertainment favorites when suddenly there's a grave with no one in it for some bizarre ass reason. Maybe I just didn't get the joke.
