No way. He was circling you? That's what sharks do. You are young and pretty and and he was trying to see how far he could get. When they circle like that, or other similar methods, It is literally because they are testing out the situation to see what they can get away with. I get so sick of people gaslighting us into dangerous situations. I don't live in my car but I hang out in it a lot (because it is my safe place). I'm an old lady now and not much to look at. I swear to you, men will walk right up and put their hands and face up to my window and look in to see what I'm doing. C R E E P Y.
I appreciate you always being cautious. Never ever assume someone is just being nice. If he was just checking on you, he wouldn’t have made you uncomfortable. Do you have a garmin? I also camp and travel solo and always stay where there isn’t service but I can text my friends from my garmin pretty much anywhere and let them know I’m safe. I even got a flat 50 miles up a forest road and texted a friend who called the forest service and had them help me out. Just a thought… it always makes me feel so much safer. I enjoy your travels so much thank you for sharing!
Yep. You don’t owe strangers anything - especially when u r alone. When I was stationed in the UK there was a girl who helped an older (late 50s) and “disabled” man load groceries into his van. He shoved her in the van and took her into a nearby forest and raped her for multiple hours. This happened at 2pm at a busy grocery store off of a busy street. I found this incredibly scary because it was in the daytime and in a busy location. The guy lied about his disability and was thankfully caught. Ever since then I make sure I choose caution over “being nice”. I still talk to strangers but I trust my intuition and avoid interaction when I am out camping alone or in a questionable situation. I believe I saw a documentary that said these predators bank on woman “being nice”. They know that many woman are trained from childhood to be nice, helpful, nurturing and will likely not make a scene.
You came up in my feed, so I liked, and subscribed. I'm 68 single gal with a little dog and I so want to convert my SUV and hit the road. I have window covers and stove and luci lights, so I'm almost ready. I can't wait. You inspire me. God bless your travels.
I just left my home to start my adventure today, and also have a dog that gets very nervous around strangers but really only at night. People act like it's a bad thing to have a defensive dog, which if you don't control them obviously can be bad, but he's already saved my life at least once by chasing away a man who tried to grab me on a walk. Glad you have a Yeti with you!
I'm soooo glad you learned your lesson the easy way - it could have gone bad so fast. As I suggested in other videos, I suggest you get a satellite based GPS Communicator like the Garmin inReach Explorer Plus like I use "especially in remote areas like the mountains" or the Garmin inReach Mini. Without any cell service I can send and receive messages to and from anyone with my GPS location or send SOS Alerts for Help.. plus I have a compass and map of where I am "I never have to wonder where am I". Additionally - please consider getting a Self Defense Product like the Byrna HD Tear Gas & Pepper Ball Gun which is legal in most states without a license (when someone or something is charging you - a button on a neckless or taser will not stop the attack). Another good video, Emily - keep'm coming! FYI - consider better and safer free stay locations with Boondockers Welcome, or Harvesthosts "yes there is a small yearly fee although the stay is free all year long" and you will be legal.
satellite device, inverter for phone and other devices, battery jumper, mobile air pump… so many things you can provide for yourself on the road whether living out of your car or simply just traveling in remote or wild areas (even just in the west or in the mountains during the winter time)
Just want to say that I think you totally have the right view on safety. You are smart and take all the necessary precautions, but you can't be controlled by fear and what-ifs. Bad things could happen to anyone regardless of whether they live in a car or house. But on that note, also like you said you should trust your gut and never just assume someone's harmless or try to be polite when you have a bad feeling. It's 1000x better to accidentally be rude to someone who was harmless than to have something happen to you.
100% correct. Our gut reactions are what is left of our primitive instincts. They should never be ignored. When you have that bad reaction, don't second guess yourself, don't wait to see what happens. Just leave - immediately.
I’m watching all your TH-cam videos from the beginning!! I totally agree on the safety part, if I lived in fear I could never solo road trip and that would make me so sad!!
Thank you for posting this I've carried hornet spray in my vehicle most of my adult life works better than pepper spray . Your first impression is usually right about someone man / woman doesn't matter . First defense is exactly what you did run just practice being prepared to take actions . I should have said your first reaction screaming to back off shows your serious . Good luck with your travels .
Good for you trusting your instincts. If you have that feeling in the pit of your stomach, listen to it! Better safe than sorry. But never let the fear keep you from getting out there! Also, great safety tool in that necklace. Looking into that now!
Great advice. I think it’s kind of funny that your Grandma got you an “I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up” device 🤣. All jokes aside though, glad your doing great 👍🏽
I have a couple of the InvisaWear necklaces and I feel it provides a false security. When you’re in an emergency situation, you only have minimal time so you need to rely on what you have on hand. Yeti is perfect. Other forms of protection are also necessary. I’ve been in remote areas without reception so the necklace is useless there….but it’s pretty. Ha ha!!
Thanks for making these! I followed over from tiktok. I really like watching you and hearing your camping experiences! You’ve inspired me to do the same in Aus. Keep making vids even though you’re home now please ❤️
Good job girl getting the heck outta there! I would have too i mean what man that scares the crap outta woman doesnt apologize if he is not trying to be creepy!
Telling yeti to direct his aggression to one specific thing is not reinforcing bad behavior. You’re telling him his job is to protect you from situations exactly like the one you were in. There is no need for someone to approach you in a manner that startles you, yeti was doing his job so you praised him. You are a very good dog handler and I wanted you to know that
Follow your gut instinct. Also, get an extra travel companion -- Smith & Wesson, Winchester, etc. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. It's good you're safety conscious.
Smart girl & u did the right thing. Never wait till it’s too late. Those bitches on TikTok can become a missing case, but u be u. Smart, safe, & alive to do more videos👍😉👍
girl, i would’ve left the moment i saw him near my car. would already have my weapon in hand and send it out of there. i’ve got a fear of being blocked in so ALWAYS combat park and always consider how someone could close your vehicle in.
It's not safe any where you might think is safe but it's not trust me bad peoples can move any places or anywhere is good to have a big dog or lion and tiger if you no what I mean trust no one when you're alone!
Never worry about what people think im twice your age and am phobia about men in general so car camping is insane , ive sometimes left the site i pay for more than once if i get a vibe its just me and a couple guys there without anyone else, call it weird or over kill , but who wants to risk having to really hurt some one, i keep Hammers , knives , you name it , but i always stay where a lot lights are or a lot people either or .... i dont do the woods alone not just yet.. but weird never afraid of anything else on the planet but people scare me ..lol
i’m sure you have it by this point - but satellite device! so important for having no service which happens often traveling in the west, the mountains, remote areas and overlanding.
Absolutely. Trust your gut. And statistically, for women, we cant trust creepy strange men, especially in isolated areas. You're making all the right moves. Women deserve to have their solo adventures, we just have to been really smart and intuitive about it. Power to you and Yeti. And yes, if Yeti hates strange men, fuck yeah. Men need respect women's boundaries out there.
Always trust yr gut. In Australia there was a really friendly guy who picked up backpackers and gave them a lift along the coast hwy. 7 of them were found in a state forest hacked and mutilated. An English backpacker got away and eventually the killer was caught. My point is, even if they seem friendly and not creepy like this one, beware. This one was definitely up to no good. Thank goodness for the pup or l doubt he would have backed off. And what if he had a gun? I reckon l would have been out of there the minute l saw him!
It’s been on private and she recently made it public :) she does this to help keep her safe so people watching don’t know her location at that exact time.
Why would you stay at such a remote area alone? Be smart. Just because you want an “adventure” doesn’t mean you should take such risks. And if you feel afraid out there, then please, just go back home & live a normal life. The money you make from YT is NOT worth it.

“I’m an old lady now and not much to look at”, I say otherwise! If that’s you in your photo you’re absolutely stunning!
I appreciate you always being cautious. Never ever assume someone is just being nice. If he was just checking on you, he wouldn’t have made you uncomfortable. Do you have a garmin? You so right girlee! I don’t trust anyone with my life! You did the right thing! Love your videos!
So happy u follow your instincts and that you’re safe! Ur videos soothe me. 😊

Yeti, is great companion and protector. Better to be safe than sorry. Dont be in the wild, some people are dangerous.
Great advice. I think it’s kind of funny that your Grandma got you an “I’ve fallen, and I can’t get up” device 🤣. All jokes aside though, glad your doing great 👍🏽
So glad you have such a big dog.
Major respect for yeti scaring him off❤️❤️❤️

I saw a video of someone who uses motion lights on top of the car to scare people away at least at night!

Best place state , and national park. There are rangers are present.
I’m graduating from university in the spring and as soon as I can save some money I’ll be on the road. Love you babe! Thanks for sharing 💖
What do you listen to when you drive? I find in my road trips I go back and forth between music and podcasts and audiobooks!

Love you for some reason u give me hope. Crazy right? Be safe.
i had no idea you were from NH!! Me too!
TRUST YOUR GUT1!!! Buy some small fire crackers. You can’t tell the difference from small arms .....will scare them away. Stay safe 🙂
Girlllll, literally as I am watching this a man just tried to open my front door 😱. I need a Yeti in my life

Rewatching your videos because they are the best 🤩
Lovely video Emily 👌😊
It's crazy I'm actually gonna buy a toyota highlander and live in it.
That’s what I was looking at. I’m currently in a Kia Soul
Nice video. What year and model is your Rav4. The interior looks unique.
How do you stay in hotel parking lots without worrying they will kick you out since you're not sleeping in one of the rooms?
Do you have outlines on talking points when you record your videos or are you just good at speaking?
Yea, no. That is creepy that he even got that close to peer into your car.
im so happy you made a YT
Wow!!!!!! Scary story!
Had he said sorry just checking on you the first time when he scared you then ok but why he came back and circled you is creepy 🤔
So you stay in hotel parking lots and nobody bothers you! I’ve never done that before. I’m gonna try that one of these days.
❤️❤️❤️
What year RAV4 do you have? How has it been for overlanding?
I would sacrifice getting bitten just to give yeti all the love🥰🤣
What do you do when you pitch a tent to camp ?
Yeti protecting you is not bad behavior......🐕
This has been up 7 days???
It’s been on private and she recently made it public :) she does this to help keep her safe so people watching don’t know her location at that exact time.
Where in NH? South or north?
I hope you got the weird guys plate # and report him to the authorities...
Start carrying
Spaghetti man ❤️❤️❤️
The guy was trying to scare you and run you off. He wanted the area to himself. Just like you did.
I wouldn’t say I wanted the area to myself lol
Why would you stay at such a remote area alone? Be smart. Just because you want an “adventure” doesn’t mean you should take such risks. And if you feel afraid out there, then please, just go back home & live a normal life. The money you make from YT is NOT worth it.
Baby I don’t make money from TH-cam.
I wouldn't bother with a gun as it will run out of bullets but a Yeti will never run out of teeth! 🐶
I would kiss you every moment you are beautiful and very sweet ❤️❤️😘😘😘😘
Need a man 🙋🏻♂️🙂
